I have been a client at Oakville Vet. Office for more than 20 years. I like the staff very much. I try to make my appointments on Sat. so I can get helped by Tom, or Jen. They have another person working there named J.R. I was very up-set with her. My dog was in a fight and had some wounds that obviously needed stitches whare the skin was pulled apart. Dr. Knubley numbed the area and put in a few stitches. The new girl told me that Dr. Knubley was wrong and the dog did not need stitches. Try to stay away from J.R. I do not trust her.

My family has been bringing our pets to Dr. Knubley for years. He is great and spends adequate time with us at each appointment. However, over the years, Dr. Knubley has gotten into the habbit of just referring us to a specialist rather than treating the major problem himself. Perhaps it is because he is getting older. I'm not sure. Over the years I have gotten to know the staff quite well. Paula, on older woman, can be stern but she really knows her stuff. We have never had any problems with the one man, Tom, or the dark complected girl. They have both been great with my pets and my family. Both are friendly and know how to work with animals. Tom is always full of helpful information. Then there is a tall skinny girl who is not socialable. Finally, there is a new girl who is absolutely horrible. I think her name is J.R. or something. She acts as if she knows it all and runs the place and it is obvious that she does not. It is almost as if she is just starting her vet. tech. education. She has put other employees at risk by not holding my cat correctly and then blames the other employee for getting hurt. I questioned how much she cares for my pets. When I inquired about Frontline, she said I could just go to Walmart and get something a whole lot cheaper. After researching Hartz or BioSpot vs. Frontline, I was shocked to think that she would want me to put a product like Hartz or BioSpot on my pets. I dislike her working with my pets and family so much, I have considered leaving Oakville Vet to go to another office - if it wasn't for Dr. Knubley, the dark complected girl and Tom, we would have.

The staff and doctor at Oakville Veterinary Clinic are fantastic. They are always helpful and friendly. They have gone above and beyond on several occasions working after hours on my dog. We have been going there for years and will continue to take our dogs to Oakville Veterinary Clinic.

We took our chocolate lab to see Dr. Knubley for the first time back in April. We were told that getting X-Rays were $100 and when we got there and AFTER the x-rays were done we were told that EACH X-ray was $100 (they took 2) we were so in shock that we didn't really argue the point there as I didn't want to cause a scene... but I felt taken advantage of so i thought it best to give them a courtesy call and tell them my concerns. They said they understood about the confusion and they would credit me $100. When I made an appointment for my dog to get shots they admitted remembering the prior misunderstanding but that they would NOT honor the deal they made and wanted to charge me full price AGAIN! Throughout the conversation the VET himself got on the phone and was just as rude as his receptionist and even hung up on me. Not a nice way to treat your customers! Even if you have an emergency there are plenty of other vets in our area you can see besides this vet, if they are rude to numerous customers how can you be sure they would keep your pets best interests at heart? They lie and are rude and decieving this does not equal up to someone I want caring for my pet. (BTW, they are very pricey for their visits, shots and medication I paid $293.48 for 2 xrays a medication)

I took my dog to the this veterinary office today and it all started off bad. First I was greeted by the tech/secretary yelling out the door telling me I parked in the wrong parking lot. I didn't move my car because my dog and I were already outside the car. I walked in the door and she continued to be rude by saying "didn't you hear what I said our parking lot is over there." Then she continued by getting us into a room and slamming the door closed after giving me a form to fill out. She came back in and took it back from me and slammed the door again. All the while, I'm sitting in there for about 10 minutes and here them all talking outside about their Thanksgiving day and they open the door again and said "oh I forgot you were still here let me get the Vet." Dr. Knubley came in and was nice. My dog had hot spots and had scratched a sore under his neck. He suggested to the rude lady that his neck needs to be shaved. I informed her that my dog was scared of the noise from the razors, but she picked my dog up anyway and bascially threw him on the table. She turned the clippers on and my dog got scared. She then yelled out the door for help saying "I need someone to hold this dog he's not cooperating!"; I again informed her that my dog was scared of razors. The vet came back in and was nice to my dog and he got shaved, no thanks to the rude lady. Then as we were leaving the vet said he would like us to follow up in 2 weeks and I asked her there hours and she was rude saying "you have to hold on I'm busy with your other papers right now". Needless to say, I am not going back to follow up after being treated so poorly. Do NOT bring your animals here!

I have been taking my dogs to this office for the past four years and have never found the staff to be that friendly or impressive, but the office is close to home and I found the vet to be competent, so I continued to patronize them. \r\n\r\nThat is until today. Now I wouldnt return to this office if they paid ME to come thereand I strongly recommend that you dont either. I keep my dogs VERY up to date on their shots and care, nail trimming, teeth cleaning you name it, and this lady treated me like a second class citizenshe must have been having a bad day, but I work in a HIGH stress position in the medical field and no matter how stressed I am, I always try to be courteous and professional to my patients and I expect the same from others.\r\n\r\nThe story in short is that I stopped by the office to pick up my dogs shot records and some heartworm medication and walked in and was greeted by one of the vet tech/office personnel (well call her Miss B.) Her poor attitude was apparent right from the first words we spoke. She acted like she was doing me a favor by giving me my dogs shot records and when I went to purchase the heartworm medication she refused to sell it to me on the grounds that my dogs had not been tested recently. I pointed out to her that they had never made me aware of this and she had the nerve to tell me that was MY responsibilityhuh?...MY responsibility to know what is in THEIR records? I am not a vet Excuse me Miss B, isnt that your offices job?\r\n\r\nNow, I am all for doing the things properly, and I pointed out to Miss B that in the past this had never been an issue, and she even ADMITTED to me that they had made the MISTAKE SEVERAL TIMES of providing me with heartworm medication without the proper testing (says a lot for their offices competence doesnt it?) I told her I was unable to bring my dogs in right away, but asked her if she would be willing to provide me with a temporary dose so that my dogs wouldnt be unprotected and she flat out refused to help me. After some words between us she said theres the door sir and I left.\r\n\r\nObviously pet care and customer service comes second to money in this office. \r\n\r\nNormally I wont expect the rules to be broken for me, I get that, but just a few months ago I had my dogs in their office and had spent well over $500, not to mention the THOUSANDS of dollars I have spent there in the past four years! I wish I would have never given them a dime!\r\n\r\nOh, and when I called to complain to Dr Knubley about his rude staff-member, he couldnt have cared less. I told him I would pull my dogs charts and take my business elsewhere, he asked me where I wanted them faxednice guy let me tell you. \r\n\r\nFolks, these people dont care about your pets; they care about the money in your bank account going into theirs, its as simple as that.\r\n\r\nBy the way, I after this experience I drove down the street to another vet office where I walked in, explained the situation and was immediately accommodated. I am having my records sent there and have an appointment next week. \r\n\r\nDont waste your time at Oakville Vet Office.\r\n\r\n

We have been taking our 3 dogs to Dr. Knubley for years now. He is very professional and very caring. He takes time to answer all questions and always goes above and beyond. Whether it be yearly visits or emergency visits, I will not take my dogs to anyone other than Dr. Knubley. Dr Knubley office staff a wonderful too -- both loving, caring and patient! Thank you for everything - it really means a lot to me knowing my kids are in good hands. Cindy Filla

Our 3 pets are all patients of Dr Knubley's and we couldn't be happier. He is kind, thorough, gentle, and very professional. We were fortunate enough to find him when we had to euthanize our beloved cat, who had suffered a stroke at age 18, and Dr Knubley was so compassionate and caring. His staff is wonderful too. Convenient location and hours as well.

PROS: Experienced, compassionate, Caring

We took our dog here once (this is not our regular vet) because we needed some emergency care and this was close. They really took care of us and the vet and staff were so nice and friendly. It's located in South County so it is a great choice for a vet if you live in the area.

I definitely recommend this vet for emergency care as well as for regular checkups for your animals.

Dr. Knubley is a terrific vet. He really helped us with our very ill kitty and talked to us on the phone for free many, many times. His staff has some terrific people and one very sour older lady. I still would never let one sour-puss ruin my experience, any pet I ever have will go there.

PROS: Skilled dr, great hours, great location
CONS: busy, one unfriendly receptionist
