Ratings_icons Creve Coeur Camera Instructor Ed Szczepanski

R Eugene B.

I want to say thanks to Ed Szczepanski for the class on my new Pentax K20D that I purchased at CCCamera. While I had read the manual and taken 300+ pictures before taking the class, I learned so much that I still did not know and he cleared up some other issues. Great pointers in general, answered all questions and very patient. I would recommend people taking a class on their new camera from a real professional, Great job Ed.

Just went to this store...my canon camera was stuck and would not fire. It was a bad battery and I did not need a new camera as the "KID" at best buy stated. These guys are great!!!! Also joined their club and got a deal on the battery. Thanks

Ratings_icons very poor return policy!

I recently purchased an item from the OFallon store. The store manager assured me it would fit my camera so I purchased it and took it home. When I tried it on my camera it would not fit. The next day I drove back to OFallon (75 miles one way) to return it. The store manager said that he would have to send me a check in a week or so because he did not have enough cash to refund my $161.00. After calling and complaining to their main store I was still unable to get my refund.

If the manager really didn't have enough cash on hand to refund my purchase he should have at least had the authority to write me a check on the spot. I could imagine what would have happened if I tried to buy an item from them and told them I would send them a check in a week or so. lol

Now I no longer have the item and only have their word that the check is in the mail.

Ratings_icons It only your opinion

I just purchased a new Nikon point and shoot digital camera from Creve Coeur Camera...and I got the best deal. Shillers did not have the case and warranty, nor did they want to talk to me. I guess because I'm a women.

The really nice lady Tony at Creve Coeur was wonderful. She even suggested that my son and I take their free class. It really helped.

I personally don't suggest that you run all over town...but I can be that Creve Coeur has a great price and most importantly ... they helped me make a great decision.

For developing of pictures they are vastly over priced. Wolf camera and Walgreens and Schillers are much cheaper
and do better quality work. When you attempt to buy products from them , they push their house brand
promaster (I call it progarbage) because it is cheaper. They sell you a $2000.00 SLR then they want you to slap
an after market piece of junk lens on it. Do they know anything about photography ? Lastly, they are rude and
not very helpful . I really think they are on their way to closing or bankruptcy. I would not trust buying something there
because they may be closing shop the next day.

Ratings_icons Exchange Flash

Anonymous

In 1999 I purchased a Pentax SLR from the Fairview Heights store. They also sold me a couple of lenses and a flash. I am in the Air Force and was stationed at Scott AFB. In 2000 I was transferred to Turkey for two years. I had noticed that the flash was not consistent in flashing. In 2002 I was transferred to FE Warren AFB in Wyoming. On my way there I stopped at the store and told them about the problem. They said that there was a notice on the issue and traded the flash out for one that worked with no questions asked.

Ratings_icons Overpriced

On the few items I've researched, digital cameras & lenses, Creve Coeur Camera charges on average 40% above the big chains.

I was in a hurry one day and did buy a lense there. The sales person assured me that the cap for the end that attaches to the body that came with the lense would work on the lens that came with my camera. It did not.

PROS: They try to be helpful
CONS: Not always knowlegable

Ratings_icons Trust them for your developing needs

Trust them with your film developing. You won't be disappointed in the quality and vibrance of the prints. They'll help you, also, choose the best camera for your needs and the best film and supplies too. They know their stuff and you will have the best advice possible for this big investment. There are several area locations but this is a large store with a wide selection of products and services.

I heard about Creve Cour Camera when I took a college class in photography. They are so knowledgeable there, that is worth its weight in gold when it comes to cameras. I have since moved on to digital, and have not been back since, but when I was shooting with film, that was THE place to go. They have a huge selection, and I believe they did repairs as well. It has been awhile, but I would definitly go back to Creve Coeur Camera!
