Went to ReVerse last night for a birthday party and received the worst treatment from a bar in my life.

The bartender downstairs was rude and possibly suicidal judging by how forlorn he looked while pouring each drink.

The staff, particularly a pre-pubescent looking gentleman with a severe Napoleon complex, treated his customers like scum and sicked his steroid-riddled bouncers on several passive customers with no apparent reason.

Said bouncers shoved and manhandled female patrons without hesitation.

If you like absurdly overpriced beer and watching the pathetic staff wield authority in the one place in their sad lives where they are in control, then ReVerse is the place for you.

I hope the bartender uses the $1 tip I gave him for a down payment on a sense of humor.

Pros: None

Cons: Overpriced drinks, horrible service

Funny how the review below was posted on another site 3 YEARS AGO! I have been going to the plaza for years and Reverse has definitely been through some down moments, but the specials are great ($5 martinis and made-to-order mojitos, wine and apps) and the atmosphere is great. The crowd seems to change a lot and there are a lot of regulars so it feels more like a swanky neighborhood bar and less like a stuffy plaza joint.

Good prices for the plaza and good drinks. But the service is really bad. Has been for the last couple years I've been going there. Went there last night and the service sunk to a new low.

Pros: Location, Venue

Cons: Service

DECOR IS BEST THING ABOUT THE PLACE: Happy hour specials aren't the best and the drinks are quite disgusting. The specialty drink menu sounds good, they look good but I had to force myself to drink it. Should've just stuck to a glass of wine or a shot. As far as the food, don't expect regular bar or bar & grill type food. Everything will be made with goat cheese or creme de something. I'm not really sure why they advertise on the radio stations and alternative newspapers to certain crowds, but want more of a dinner crowd than a party crowd.

The waitresses were pretty cool, the decor is somewhat nice and trendy but that's about it.

WARNING: If you MUST go for the drinks (eww), you HAVE TO sit at the bar or one of about 4 tables for drinking only. Otherwise you must sit at one of the tables and order food. If there aren't any "drinking" seats left in those areas, you must stand or have your drinks outside (not a good option to mix alcohol and 100+ degree heat index).

Loved ReVerse. Visiting from out of town and stumbled upon the corner cafe. They have a great happy hour and the staff is very friendly and fun. Half price appetizers and select drinks. Great place to mingle. The decor was trendy. Highly recommend.

You must be in a certain state of mind for this bar. I enjoyed the open windows in the summer with a rose water martini but really prefer La Bodega which I believe is owned by the same person. He does a great job on the menu, and the happy hours are both to check out. This would be the perfect time of year to stop by .

Cons: weekends you can't move

I went to ReVerse after hearing about its design and "cool" scene. I had to double check the address and name because my experience was anything but memorable and hip. There were five tables total in the place and it took FOREVER to get our drinks not to mention food, which by the time the food arrived we weren't that thrilled. Presentation was sub-par and the decor is dated. NY style and beatnik feel? What? Would not go back.
