I disagree with previous reviewer. This CAN be great for kids--but it depends on the kid. They've done quite a bit here in the last few years--and made it more kid friendly with great interpreterations. Its an older four story brick house. They have great seasonal events that you should be on the look-out for. Don't expect Transformers or GI Joe's, though. Be sure to stop at the Broadway Oyster Bar down the street!

Though the museum is beautiful and well-kept, this is not a place I recommend taking children. Even older kids have a hard time understanding the concept and looking at the old toys instead of being able to play with them.

This is one of those unique St. Louis attractions that make the city such a great place to be, whether you're a long-time resident or a weekend visitor. As a kid, I loved taking field trips to the Eugene Field house and learned to love poetry after connecting the writer and his work with this location. The toys are enough to pull kids in, the history will keep adults interested, and before you know it, everyone has learned something AND had a good time.

Pros: Totally unique, All-ages fun
