I called Fischer Animal Hospital because I needed to purchase Capstar and my vet (VetStop) was out. The woman I spoke with was very nice and answered all my questions. She told me that yes, they had it in stock, and the price was $18.62 for a 6-pack ($7 less than my vet had told me it would be!). I was very happy with the price and told her I'd come by shortly to get it. An hour later I drove to Fischer to purchase the Capstar. When I went to check out I was told that the price was $37 (?!). I explained that I had already called and been quoted a price of $18. After a few minutes I was told "ooops, she quoted you the employee price" and again told that it would be $37. I left at that point, without the Capstar. Not only was it DOUBLE what they had told me over the phone, it was $12 more than at VetStop. What a complete and total waste of my time and gas. A co-worker had good things to say about Fischer and I was thinking about switching, but I will definately stick with VetStop.

I have been dealing with Dr. Fischer for about 30 years (3 dogs ). I put more care in the selection of my vet then my own physician. So the 30 miles I now travel for an appointment is a small price to pay for exceptional care that my babies receive. She is knowledgeable, intuitive and treats every patient like they are one of her own. I can not give an higher recommendation.

Fischer Animal Hospital is by far the best vet around! I recently switched vets because I had moved in with my fiance and we decided we wanted to be closer to our vet....BIG mistake! It was such an awful experience and the whole time we just kept saying "this would have never happened at Fischer" so we ended up switching back asap and we are happy we did! Dr.Meyer is always very helpful and treats our animals like they are her own. I never feel rushed she listens and answers any questions I have and is happy to do so. The receptionists are always very nice and welcoming, they make it a very comfortable environment and are also very very helpful. My animals mean the world to me so it is very important for them to have proper care and I trust Fischer 100%!!! On a sadder note I had to put my cat down a couple years ago because he was hit by a car, he was my best friend and I was devastated but Fischer went out of their way to help my family cope with our loss. They really helped my family out through a difficult time. They are an amazing vet!!!

Dr. Fischer is one of the most compassionate people we know. The first time she saw our toy poodle she had to tell us that he had a very damaged heart. She reassured us that when the time came to put him down that we would know and she would help us through it. Because of her excellent veterinarian skills he lived another year after she diagnosed him and when the time came she supported us through a very difficult time. Her honesty and devotion will remain with us as we search for another poodle. Her staff is well trained and have always been kind and caring with us. We have recommended her to many friends and they are all pleased with her work. Thank you, Dr. Fischer and staff.

I would never trust my 'babies' to be in the care of any other doctor than Dr. Fischer.

Every-time I go, the front staff is always polite and treats me and my animals as if they are their own. I have had to call because of multiple reasons and even over the phone I have been impressed with the respectful and caring attitude from the entire staff and on a couple of occasions, Dr. Fischer herself called me back to reassure me that my babies were fine and what I needed to do!

I have recommended and will continue to recommend them to any person with a four-legged baby. Their prices are very reasonable and like I mentioned earlier, I have never seen a staff that cares more about all their big and little patients and they do a wonderful job keeping me involved.

I will be filing a formal complaint with the state veterinary board and the Better Business Bureau regarding our experience with Dr.Fischer. I took my dog in to only get a rabies vaccination and a heartworm test, only. When we checked in, the receptionist said, "Just a heartworm test and rabies?" And I said yes. I offered them our dog's most recent vet records and they declined to see them although he had never received shots at this clinic and he had not been seen there for over two years.

Dr.Fischer gave my dog the DHLPP vaccination, which he did not need, without my consent or knowledge. She kept the shots in her pocket and so I didn't see it or realize it until it was too late. She did not ask when his last shots were or what he needed. As she was about to give our dog the rabies shot, we verified that it was the three years. She hesitated and said that it was only the one year, and proceeded to inject it into my dog. She then quickly proceeded to ALSO give my dog the three year rabies before I realized what was happening and before I could stop her. When she saw the look of horror on my face, she tried to reassure me that it wouldn't hurt him. My dog is very sensitive to vaccinations and has had a bad reaction in the past. So while this HOPEFULLY won't harm him, it definitely was not good for him to be overdosed, either.

I was also extremely unhappy with the rough way this vet handled my nervous dog. She did not pet him, greet him, let him sniff her, or any of that normal stuff that vets typically do before they start examining and handling a dog. I'm not sure why she decided to become a vet, because she definitely did not appear to like animals from the behavior I observed.

In an emergency situation, we had to take our great dane to Fischer Animal Hospital, as our vet was closed. They treated us like one of their own patients, and as it turned out, our dog had to be put to sleep. They were sooo wonderful...they didn't rush us, even though it was after hours, they were very empathetic, caring, and treated Max with such compassion. Needless to say...they will now be our family vet. High Recommendations !!!

Dr. Fischer has been our veterinarian for about 30+ years and has never ceased to amazed us at how compassionate, caring and comforting she has been over that time, while providing exemplary medical service for our pets even in the worst of times for us. She and her staff provide such a wonderul interaction with pets as well as humans, that they should be commended. My entire family as well as many people I have recommended her to, have always thought of her as a truly amazing person, with her knowledge and compassion.
Just a wonderful place for pets and humans alike.

Very caring, reasonable fees. I take both my dog and cat to Fischer. I previously had to take my 12 yr old dog to be put to sleep after a stroke. They were wonderful, had a quilt folded and ready for her on the floor, gave her a shot to calm her shaking, then allowed me to spend time (20 min,) with my old girl to say Goodbye .

Dr. Fischer was my dogs vet for many years. Unfortunately we moved out of the area and that is why we no longer see her.

She has been a vet for a very long time and is extremely knowledgeable. She always takes great care of the animals and will answer any questions you have.
