Ratings_icons Terrible Place

Laura M.

Trust me. I used to work here. This place is terrible. They over book themselves and shove large dogs in small kennels. They are rarely fed or let outside. they do not get any affection or attention. The managers are awful and the people at corporate hire these awful people to run their stores. Kennelwood is currently trying to franchise. That is a scary thought. They don't have a good company now. I can't imagine it will get any better when there are more of them. TCLC is our saying, Trust, Commitment and Loving Care is our saying. Well, no one trusts anyone. Employees get ripped off all the time. Commitment is a bunch of B.S. too. No one cares about anyone but themselves. Everyone acts like Alan Jones (the president) is such a wonderful guy, but let me tell you, he is a prick. I know for a face that he touched someone inappropriately. No one helped...they are all afriad of him. He sucks. And as far as the Loving Care thing goes, its not true. ALL THEY WANT IS YOUR MONEY! All my life I wanted to work with animals, then when I finally got a job were I could, it was awful. It shouldn't be like that.

Ratings_icons Quality service my dog loves!!!

April C.

I have been bringing my dog to Kennelwood since I got her in 2003. She has been through puppy obedience classes, worked with a day trainer and enjoys going to camp everyday. When I take her in the mornings she is excited to get out of the car often snubbing me for the excitement she is about to enjoy. The workers have always been friendly, know most dogs by name and are quick to get you what you need. I have taken my dog to a few other kennels, but the cost at Kennelwood and the love provided makes it a no brainer.

Don't bring your pets to Kennelwood. They care more about your money than your pet. For example, a bunch of dogs were recently FORGOTTEN about for more than 24 hours while boarding here. If the staff hadn't argued about it the managers were going to send them home covered in urine and feces. We talked them into letting us clean the dogs up but they still charged the people full price and didn't tell them their dogs weren't fed or cared for at all for over a day. This stuff is pretty normal here. All Kennelwood cares about is your money, not your pet or their staff. Trust, Committment, and Loving Care, is supposed to be our motto but even the employees don't trust this company. The committment is to the higher ups getting rich, and the Loving Care part is just B.S. Your dogs and cats are better off somewhere smaller, that puts your pets ahead of profits. This is the fast food joint of pet care.

Ratings_icons Horrified

My dog came back from boarding with them and he was literally trembling when they brought him out to me after only two days. He smelled like pee and when I got him home I realized he'd also broken a nail. They offered to pay the vet bill but there was no apology or explanation. I felt like I was just being run through the ringer for my money so I can't imagine how my dog must've felt.

We take our dogs to get their hair cuts at Kennelwood Village. It is very easy to make an appt., they get you in right away, and the service is wonderful. I know my pets are in good hands here. They also have a wonderful boarding service if you are planning on leaving your pet for a while.

The Dog Obedience classes offered by Kennelwood Village are wonderful. My dog was a bit of a challenge due to his fear of the other pets in the class and the fact that is lack of sense of smell made him not care for rewards. The instructor we had was patient and worked with us individually to create a successful situation.
