Hastings Books

Although there are other book and music stores in the Joplin metro area, my favorite is Hastings Books, Music, and Video.

The store is well-stocked with major books, music, and videos and they have an attentive staff ready to help. If they don't have what you're seeking, they can special order and have the item within a few days. An in-store computer kiosk allows you to search for what you want and to place an order if necessary.

Frequent sales and marked down books make choosing reading material affordable. The music section offers everything from the newest rap to vintage country and if you can't find a movie you want in the video area, I would be surprised.

CONS: Location in a busy shopping center
