I have been going to Miss Saigon restaurant for years now. Before they moved to Delmar location they were in Shrewsburry where I was pretty regular. I think they have good food but unfortunatelly they don't care too much about keeping their customers. I was there for a dinner and ordered #20 wich is one of my favorite soups. It is loaded with fresh veggies, chicken breast meat, clear glass noodles and has a great flavor. I ate almost half of it when I found the longest hair in my bowl of soup. I called our server and explained to him what happened. He said he was sorry and he did offer to bring me another bowl of soup. I explained that I had lost my appetite and thanked him. He went over to the owner and you could clearly see that he was talking to her about our table. My boyfriend and I were ready to leave so we asked for our check, thinking that they would take the soup off our bill. They did not!!! I was shocked and dissapointed!
The female owner and the server kept talking in vietnamese and looking over at us like it was our fault they served us hair! Anyway, my point is that before we were treated like that I still would have given them another shot, but now I will be going somewhere else. After all the U City is full of great restaurants where the owners and the staff care about their customer satisfaction...

I agree with the last reviewer on that Monumant guy. I think that fool has eatten at the wrong restaurant, and made the mistake on Miss Saigon from Little Saigon on Euclid (CWE). Miss Saigon doesn't even have that vermicelli noodle that taste like curry(?). I have had all their dishes more than once and never, I repeat NEVER had a problem with their dishes. Excellent Vietnamese food. They have actually set the standard on quality, authentic Vietnamese food. I was here on time when a customer made an honest mistake on looking online for Vietnamese food and just looked up Saigon instead of the name of the actual restaurant. He ended up at Miss Saigon. He and I have became friends since then at Miss Saigon and have been regulars.

They have items off the menu that is really, really outstanding. For example, their "Steamed Sea Bass" is excellent. A good portion of fish, no bones, and wonderful sauce. You really have to try it. It's so funny to hear their servers trying to sell it to you but it's well worth it.

The service is more than expected from any local restaurant. They make it feel like if it's "home". They would go out of their way to make sure that your leaving happy with a full stomach. When they have a full house or extremely busy, be patient, they are more likey to be less tentative due to the fact that it could be overwhelming. They explain in great details on what is in their dishes.

Give them a try. It's either you're there for great food or excellent service. You pick.

Pros: the food and service...it goes hand in hand

Cons: parking

The review by Monumant is absurd. He must have eaten out of the garbage cans behind the restaurant. I have eaten regularly at this restaurant for over six years. ALL the dishes are very good to outstanding and never disappointing. Two of my favorites are the squid dish served fiery hot and the lotus root salad. Portions are large. Recommended with the highest rating and lagniappe, the nicest people work there. Prices reasonable that is why so many young couples eat there.

The first time we went to Miss Saigon it was after trying for over an hour to procure breakfast at another establishment. We were frustrated, hungry and I am sure more than a bit crabby. Even though I went in with an attitude their extremely kind and helpful staff made it impossible not to relax and have a good time. They were extremely thoughtful in making suggestions. Their Chicken curry dish is incredible. Also, anything with their grilled pork is worth ordering. The food is good. The service is great and the atmosphere is fun. My husband and I now eat at this establishment 3 or 4 times a month. We have never had bad food (one time they went a little crazy with the spicey, but if was re-prepared in 5 mins) and never had bad service. They are consistenly awesome!

Imagine if you will, a world of bland overpriced dishes made by someone who couldn't have possibly ever tasted Vietnamese food. That's because the mix of ingredients and flavors make absolutely no sense. I've had the unfortunate opportunity to sample several dishes from this place and each is consistently bad. What makes this place so awfully bad is that their food has only the slightest hint of flavor coupled with ingredients that don't go well with each other. The little flavor that you get, you soon live to regret. The herbs or magic dust or whatever they use to flavor their food is totally disoriented. For example, don't try the lemongrass Saigon vermicelli noodles unless you want a couple of tablespoons of curry powder topped over oily noodles surrounded by huge amounts of eggs and overcooked "vegetables." Among these vegetables included lemongrass that tasted like curry powder. What demon compelled these people to make a monstrosity of a dish like this, I do not know. All I can do is warn others. I give this place one star for not hospitalizing me.
