baja's food is not very good. very bland, although i do appreciate the mixed at the table guacamole. i will say i love the variety of frozen margaritas. the pomegranate margaritas are great.

It was 6 of us and we wanted to get some appetizers and drinks. It was a little hot for mexican food. We wanted to sit outside but everyne seemed to be right under the sun so we decided on the inside. Really spacious and a clean place with a ton of waiters and waitresses who all were very attractive. I'm only saying that because it's nice being served by someone who cares about their appearance.

We got beers and it was cold and refreshing. We got a combo appetizer which was delicious. Of course everything was americanized Mexican food which was cool with us. The sevice was pretty bad. Nobody was rude but we got one appetizer and no plates were brought for us, we were checked on only 2 times and not all of us evern had napkins. Of course I'm sure if we asked the guy wuld have brought it right out, so I'm not saying they were being rude. It was pretty damn busy and we weren't getting main courses so we didn't wanna bother the poor guy too much. The beer was very reasonable priced.

Pros: lots of seating, clean, large indoor/outdoor, cute waitress/waiters

Cons: our service wasn't great, food was generic americanized mex food

baja 600 is a fun Mexican restaurant, especially on the weekends, and much better than the typical Mexican bar/restaurants in Queens. Enjoy the food and the decor, like the restaurant's namesake above the bar. I recommend starting with chips and guacamole ($3.50), and if you're real hungry, the chicken soup too ($5). Then try carnitas michoacanas (roast pork at $9), fajitas ($10), or enchiladas ($7). The menu runs to the coast with plenty of seafood options. The tasty, large tacos are the best value ($2 each). There are plenty of Mexican beers and cocktails to wash down the food. I was disappointed by their margaritas, but the horchata (a delicious rice drink) is first-rate. Service and overall quality have improved since last winter.
