BEST CHINESE YOU WILL EVER EAT. Hands down. Grew up in Brentwood, been going here 20+ years, food is always incredible, never been disappointed. I have never had Chinese that compares.

I don't live in the area anymore, but I still eat

This is my favorite place for chinese food dinner. I grew up in a nearby neighborhood and have never had anything that toped it. This is a must on the STL Chinese food list...

Check it out!

I used to live two hours outside St. Louis and would drive in just to eat at Yen Chings. I've eaten Chinese food all over the world and this is some of the best out there. The pan fried dumplings are amazing and so is the mapo tofu. I no longer live in Missouri and really miss this place.

I ordered take out from this place for the first time and I can honestly say it was THE WORST food I've ever had! My finance and I ordered 2 dishes, an egg roll, and a crab ragoon and it somehow came to $35! On top of that, my orange chicken looked more like french fries covered in orange sauce (I seriously don't think it was chicken). I ended up throwing my entire meal away...such a waste.

My spouse and I first experienced Yen Chings more than 25 years ago. We were taken there by a friend who had lived in China and loved Yen Chings. We had no idea Chinese food could taste so wonderful. We keep coming back several times a year and are rarely disappointed. These many years, and many Chinese restaurants later, we have never found better potstickers, egg rolls or mu shoo pork. These are our favorites and truly outstanding. Their mu shoo pork is assembled at the table and the textures blend perfectly and the flavors are so fresh! Another treat is their signature Yen Ching beef. Excellent, spicy, rich, slightly sweet and memorable. Years ago, I learned how to make it and it is a staple in our diet (although I can't do it as well as their chefs.)

It's not fancy or pretentious or trendy, but it is a very good Chinese restaurant with a big menu, discreet and pleasant service, comfortable and relaxed atmosphere, reasonable prices and good food. We just came back from our umpteenth visit and loved it.

I used to eat here all the time 10-12 years ago when I lived in St.Louis. I always got the Hot Eggplant, and it never disappointed. I recently visited St.L and made a point of going to Yen Ching. I was so happy to see it was still open. My server let me order the eggplant off of the dinner menu eventhough it was lunchtime. It was great as usual. If you're ever in St.L and craving Chinese food, go here. Save enough room to go to Ted Drewes afterward!

If your lookin for Chinese, and your worried about disease.
Then head to Yen Ching's, it will bring you to your knees!
The food is F in great, you can bring your gorgeous date.
Show up anytime, and you'll never have to wait!
So if you want some food, that tastes really really good.
Head over to Yen Chings's, Hot Braised Chicken, at least I would!

My experience with this restaurant was horrible. The orange chicken was spiced with ground black pepper which tasted horrible. Additionally there was five dollars added to my delivery charge plus I had to leave a tip which came to $25 for one person. It was a very bad experience and I would not recommend this restaurant.

I eat in..and order out on a regular basis. Always friendly...and quick service. I think the nice thing about the place is they don't harass you throughout the meal. They quietly service your table with you hardly noticing. Very consistent service.

Pros: Good Food, Good Location, Easy to get table

I really love this restaurant. I consider myself fairly picky about Chinese food, and this place doesn't disappoint. It makes me nervous that a PF Changs has opened up almost next store. This restaurant is too good to lose.

I have been going to Yen Ching for over 10 years and I do not have one bad thing to say about the restaurant other than I wish it would get more recognition.

Only management that I saw at any restaurant coming to table and arguing about how much customer should pay as tip. Used to be a restaurant we go, and tip between 10-20% depending on the day. Don't go to this restaurant if you want to have a nice lunch or dinner out. There are plenty better places around.

Easy to find location with plenty of parking. Staff is always very nice and attentive to it's customers. Not sure what you want off their extensive menu, ask the servers they are more than willing to help. GREAT food that never dissapoints.

I am a transient from Atlanta, GA and have not been able to find good chinese food in St. Louis until I ventured upon Yen Ching. The imperial chicken is superb, as is the sizzling rice soup, which I have not been able to find at other chinese restaurants around town.

The main dining room is dim and windowless, but has a comfortable, intimate feel. Servers are extraordinarily attentive. In fact, they often wait discreetly in view of your table and then snap into action when you…
