This salon is awesome! I was originally brought there by my family (who are devout clients) and had a cut, color, mani/pedi, and eyebrow wax. They had fantastic recommendations and I received frequent compliments on the work afterwards. I'm now putting my whole bridal party in their hands!
These reviews are obviously coming from the salon. Stealth marketing tactics are unethical and illegal! Using "infiltrating" techniques (fake identities) makes me irate!!
As an actual former customer of this salon, the real truth is that the service here is like a "cattle call"! After hearing these "rave reviews" I actually made an appointment, a week in advance, only to wait 40 minutes as My Linh began a new customer at my scheduled appointment time, with no explaination. While I was waiting, the receptionist then attempted to book another appointment for 30 minutes after the call... WHILE I WAS STILL WAITING!!! Are you kidding me??
Now, let's talk about my haircut. After that horrible experience, I didn't become to realize, until after a couple of weeks, that my hair never felt even. When I go have another stylist do her magic, I'm told one side is shorter than the other and that there appears to be no symmetry to the layers. Knowing that each side should match, I AM NOW BEYOND PISSED! I had to have all my length cut off to make it look the way it did when I made the mistake of going to her!!
As far as her prices, that's a load of BS. If paying too much for subpar service and a shotty job is what you are looking for? Then this salon is your place!! Not to mention, expect to pay an additional fee to use a credit card. Her prices are too high for this type of amatuer service and haircuts. You can't compare a Rolls Royce to a Toyota Sentra...get for real!
Do yourself a favor, stay far away from this low level product & service!! Buyer BEWARE!!
If you are not going to Mylinh's Salon, you are paying too much and not getting the best service on the Coast! I've been a customer of Mylinh for 4 years and have never been disappointed in the service. I get my hair chemically straightened and the cost is extremely lower than anywhere else. In 1 1/2 hours, I can get a haircut, blow out, wax and pedicure for a fraction of the cost that other salons charge. It's easy to get an appt. with either Mylinh for a cut or Louie for a pedicure. Best of all, people ask me all the time "who does your hair?" Mylinh and her staff are by far the most professional but yet, when I come in, I feel like family.
Mylinh and her wonderful staff are definitely a cut above the rest. I drive 40 minutes to the salon in D'Iberville every six weeks to have my hair cut and my highlights touched up. I've tried other places not wanting to drive that far or to pay a little less, but ALWAYS end up back at Mylinh's. My mother will tell you the same goes for her. They have a wide range of services at a reasonable cost. They are a little higher than some other self-owned salons but, like you always hear, you get what you pay for. They have the high-end salon service without the uptight atmosphere and top dollar prices. They are open until 7PM which gives you time to make an appointment after work and not rush to get there. Also, they take pride in what they do and never give you the short-end on services, even if you walk in when they are closing. If they agree to take you in as a customer, plan on still getting what you pay for, no matter what time of the day it is. The shop itself is pleasing to the eye and relaxing. It is decorated with a modern-Asian feel that I absolutely love and all of the chairs and equipment that they use are contemporary and up-to-date. One example of this is that Mylinh uses CHI flat-irons and blowdryers to style...a top-notch brand that most stylists would consider too expensive to use daily on their customers and this is just one example that shows she takes pride in her work and truly cares about her customers. She also gets to know her customers, not just for good business measures, but simply because she is truly friendly. She knows her customers on a first name basis and always makes it a point to acknowledge that you are there as soon as you walk in the door ..even if they are packed with customers. I do suggest making an appointment with her instead of a walk-in since she is usually booked the day of...which only lets you know that lots of people love her and her styling skills! :) Usually a day or two in advance is sufficient. So try her out and you'll see for yourself!
At My Linh's salon, there may be a bit of a wait sometimes, but that's only because people know that they receive top notch service. My Linh and her dutiful team have been in operation in D'Iberville for a very long time. They are experienced, well trained professionals with reasonable prices. They are very busy and hard working cosmeticians and techs, but never seem to miss a beat, especially with letting their customers know they are important to them. No matter how busy they may be, as soon as you walk in the door, you are welcomed with a "May I help you?". The salon decor is hip, modern, but with an asian twist. The walls are painted an exotic deep warm cinnamon color. The aesthetic atmosphere is pleasing. Treat yourself with a visit to My Linh's salon.
