Murff's is the best bar in Oxford. It is a real place, not that trendy crap. It is off the Square, so some people don't even know about it. It is truly a hidden treasure filled with friendly people from all walks of life. The bartenders are the best around and if you frequent the place enough, they eventually become friends.

This is the worst bar in Oxford. Most people avoid it because of bad experiences with the owner or the bartenders. They're just rude. They act like its the only place in town to drink or like there is something special about the place. There is definitely nothing special about this bar. You would think that someone who owns a business wouldn't try to drive away costumers. Must not be in it for the money.

Pros: You don't have to go there
Cons: Could be a cool place
Murff's is a seemingly dark hole-in-the-wall bar slightly off the beaten path. This means it's not overrun by sorority girls and frat boys. The crowd is an ecclectic mix of PhD's, blue-collar workers, and everything in between. Darts, pool, and typical bar video games provide entertainment for patrons not watching one of the four televisions which are known to show NASCAR, FOX Nexs, antique car shows, and the History Channel simultaneously. The drinks are good- just don't ask for a Strawberry Daquiri! The service reflects the nature of Murff's- expect prompt, friendly service from bartenders that are a bit rough around the edges. Murff's serves the best bar food in Oxford. Selections include the standard burger, wings, fried pickles, and the infamous"Mother and Child Reunion" chicken and fried egg sandwich. Cheers, brother!
