After Katrina, I bought windows from LAS. In a time when noone was hurting for business, LAS still took great care of me and my wife and the windows were and still are the BEST I have seen out there. A couple of months ago we decided to buy shutters for our home. We met with many different companies, but still noone could compare to the customer service and quality of the product. We are still amazed at the service we received and the workmanship. I would HIGHLY recommend LAS.

LAS needs to work on the customer service and communication within your own company. Would not recommend to anyone!!! Terrible experience. Had over 7 contractors in my home after Katrina & I was the general contractor. I had no problems

When I saw the negative comments I thought, no, they are a local company and I bought into their commercial. Believe me, this is the WORST COMPANY I'VE EVER DEALT WITH. The salesman will lie and tell you all you want to hear. They promise the local crew, local company. I had 3 people from out of the country who didn't speak English show up. Three months later, I'm still finding glass everywhere. The windows are coming apart. Funny thing, I paid more than I should have for what I thought was a good, local company. BEWARE!! If you call with a problem, the ladies in the office almost taunt you. They tell you things like I know you paid for your installation 3 months ago and we'll get your warranty to you whenever we can. Another one is if you call for help on their bad install they tell you that they really don't like to come out, it's overtime. What? Really? Then they agree to come out to ""look at the problem"" but THEY DON'T SHOW UP! PLEASE, SAVE YOUR MONEY, GO SOMEWHERE, ANYWHERE ELSE. I DON'T WANT PEOPLE TO THINK I WORK FOR ANOTHER COMPANY. BELIEVE ME I'M JUST A PISS*D CONSUMER. MR. MAIA IS A THIEF!!!!

Please, think twice before puchasing windows from LAS. The sales rep spent at least three house in our home in Slidell. He brought in the demo windows of LAS and those of WIndow World comparing the two. The reinforced metal in the LAS windows was what we liked in their windows over the sample of the Window World windows. We were fairly sold on the LAS windows, so much that we gave the sales rep a check for half of the amount of the windows we were going to purchase. We told the sales rep we did have an already scheduled appointment with Window World to do comparisson shopping. The LAS rep said if we chose not to use LAS we had three business days to cancel our order, he assured us that WIndow World's product was not going to compare to theirs, but said it is your purchase, your money, listen to their presentation. Seemed fair enough to us, LAS did want half of the amount of the windows and a signed contract, so we gave him a check for half of the amount of windows along with signing a contract. The LAS rep left our home assured he had the sale in the bag. \r
Well, we listened to Window World, their product is just as good and their bid for all our windows was less than the down payment we gave LAS. The windows we went with have all of the same features as the LAS ones and seemed just as sturdy. LAS prides themselves on being locally made and the fact that if you have a broken window you can just take it out bring it to their factory and get a replacement. What about the fact that you will have a huge hole while you are doing this. At least Window World showed us prices and they did not bash the competetor like LAS did. The sales rep was very nice we did not feel like we had just met with a used car sales person like the one from LAS. The W W rep's presentation was much smoother, his sample windows were in better condition, just overall better presentation. The W W windows also have a life time guarantee, many of the same features of the LAS windows and a definate lower price. All of the windows are coded so that if one breaks you call the rep, give them the number and in a week they will get you a replacement window. \r
Since at this point we were going with WIndow World, the next day my husband called to cancel the LAS agreement, they were very nice in canceling over the phone, but here is the problem. LAS cashed the check for half of the windows before we said a definate yes to them on the windows, which in my opinion very unprofessional. We were under the understanding that the check we gave to LAS would not be cashed until the close of the three business days along with a call from us saying yes we were going to definately purchase their windows., LAS came out on a Thursday, we canceled mid morning the followingTuesday. Now ten plus days later we still do not have a check back from LAS. They should not have deposited the check until they got a definate okay from us. The LAS rep. did contact my husband after we canceled our order with them and admitted he could not come near to the price Window World did and agreed that the check should not have been cashed until the the agreement was made. \r
My advice is to definately think twice before using LAS and definately comparrison shop. You only buy windows maybe once in the lifetime of your home, sure there may be problems over the years, but with the economic times you have to make the best decision that fits within your families budget.

Called L A S to come give me a quote for 15 windows in my house in Picayune MS. Salesman came ,presented product,(very knowledgeable) then proceeded to do the ole car salesman pitch of extremely high numbers to reflect the low numbers.... My wife and i told him we would call him the next day to give our answer.. he would not accept that, pressured me to sign contract then and there. we got him to leave, then we talked and made a decision, and as promised we called him the next day (tues) so i could meet him in New Orleans to sign, he promised to call me back the same day to tell me where to meet for the next day (wed) . well no call, so i got up on wed and drove into the city to the headquarters to find him or talk to someone live, pulled into parking lot of LAS and parked in a lot full of mercedes, bmw, lexus. went inside with checkbook in hand to be greeted by a lovely middle aged woman behind the desk who told me that there was NO ONE there who could see me, all salesmen were out working and there was no managers or anyone for that matter who could see me, that i should go home and wait for the salesman to call.........she resumed answering her phone without a goodbye. an hour later the salesman called me ....too late for me, if this is how it is for me to get windows, im sure the warranty and service will follow suit. ILL look for a company with live people in the office i can sit down with Man to Man. After all we are in a RECESSION, if im shelling out that kind of money, i expect a few manners with common courtesy as well.

Pros: decent product

Cons: VERY UNPROFESSIONAL Public Relations

My company has call to purchase windows at least 20X's and the saleman never would return a phone . \r
And when I ask to speak to the president the person on the phone stated he was to busy to take any calls today.\r
\r
Forget you LAS.

I bought windows for my home in Metairie from LAS back in the fall of 2008. Needless to say, I have been pleasantly surprised at how great they are. Part of my windows were replaced by Window World after Katrina and there is a substantially noticeable difference between the 2 products. I paid a little more to go with the better window, but it's worth it! I have already had several maintenance issues with my WW windows and continue to get the runaround about who is actually responsible. I am considering redoing the original six with LAS. I am overall very pleased. Those clear storm boards look neat also. If others here have purchased them, please review. Josh and Kelly, Metairie, LA

I purchased hurricane shutters for my home in mid April 2008. Two of those shutters has motors. The one on my front door got stuck in the down position and I tried calling LAS on September 5th 2008.and they told me that they would call me on Monday September 8th because their computers were down due to a hurricane. They didnt call on Monday like they said they would. I proceeded to call them back on 9/8/08 ,9/10/08 and 9/11/08 they finally called me back on Friday September 12, 2008 saying that they would call me on Monday September 15, 2008 to schedule an appointment. They did not call me like they said they would . I have spent $9,000.00 and I feel like I am being put off. Not very good for business I must say. I AM NOT HAPPY AT ALL WITH MY WARRANTY SERVICE. BECAUSE I AM GETTING NO SERVICE , JUST THE RUNAROUND...

Pros: When they are assigned the job.they come out fast.

Cons: When you need warranty work , they forget about you.

My experience with LAS was a pleasant one, to say the least. I had new vinyl windows and colonial hurricane shutters installed earlier this month. From the initial consultation to the completed project, the staff at LAS was friendly, knowledgeable, and more than willing to see the job through. I did get several estimates from other companies. As for the windows, LAS was right in the middle pricewise. However, when comparing apples to apples, there was no comparison. The window that they produce is made locally in New Orleans and deisgned for this area. It was much better than the cheapo vinyl windows on the market and stood toe to toe with the high end Pella and Andersen windows. The colonial shutters were surprisingly much less expensive that all of the others, and even better made. The quality of the shutters is wonderful and have definitely added a nice look to my home. Although I havent needed any service, my experience with their office personnel was comforting. \r
\r
I remember LAS from WAAY back. They are still here putting a lot of people to work in the New Orleans area. Part of my decision to go with LAS was based on the fact that they are all local and well established. I would highly recommend this company if you are thinking about windows or shutters. \r

Thanks, Emile
