I went shopping for tv's online and found one on the Vann's website. I was prompted to enter my zip code for a delivery estimate and it was two days. That was Feb 1st, Tuesday evening. I wanted the tv gauranteed for Super Bowl Sunday though, so I called the Missoula Vann's store first thing Wednesday morning instead of ordering it online. The salesman (Bob) found the tv I wanted, and checked on delivery. He said it could go out that day (Feb 2nd) and I would have it by Friday the 4th, in plenty of time to set it up for Super Bowl. (We just live 110 miles away but it's hard for us to get to Missoula).
Well it is Friday 2/4, 5:00 pm and I just now got an email from ups tracking saying that the label has been created but they do not yet have the item in their possession. Huge Bummer!!! Bob specifically knew we wanted it by Sunday, and he knew that was the whole reason we wanted to buy it from a real person rather than order it online!! He said it would go out on Wednesday! I even suggested paying extra for 2 day shipping to make sure we got it on time and Bob said it wouldn't be necessary. Since we live so close he promised it'd be here on time with regular UPS.

So, I just got off the phone with Bob and he confirmed that the shipping order was just created today. He is upset because he originally sent explicit instructions with the order that the tv was to be shipped immediately. I feel bad for him because he seems as bummed as I am. Apparently the guys in charge of getting orders ready for shipping do not read the order comments.

The way this all worked out, is that Bob has offered to drive the tv up to us tomorrow (Saturday)! I can't believe he would drive 110 miles each way to keep a customer happy.

2/7/11: It is Monday, Bob delivered our tv on Saturday, we set it up that evening and watched Super Bowl on Sunday. We are happy customers.

I was going to give just one star. But after Bob's great handling of the situation I am changing to five.
