The last time I went to the Rex is the last time I will ever eat there. The resturant was pretty slow and empty for the most part while the bar was quite packed. Our waitress was very slow to bring us beverages and it seemed like we were waiting a very long time for our food. The waitress must have been prompted by the cook when she questioned him, "Oh thier food is ready?" When I recieved my Rib-eye, I noticed it was not a very good cut (end cut) and it was barely warm. My steak was cold, slightly over done and had alot of tough grissle on the top outside that was unedible. My wifes complaint on the food was just that her prime rib was a little cold. Towards the end of our dinner a female worker with red hair from the bar side came over to the resturant and was talking very loudly to the cooks about her life storys. She was very loud and obnoxious which my wife and I were discussing. We decided just to try and ignore her when I hear her blurt out SPICS AND MEXICANS. My wife and I were very offended. I called the next day and spoke with a lady who identified herself as the GM. She told me the red haired lady was a bartender and that her husband and child were mexican and she was sure she meant nothing by it. She thank me for calling and said sorry. That was the worst $90 meal my wife and I ever had.

The Rex is an upscale restaurant with steaks, lobster and more. Plan on spending $25.00 or more w/o alcohol. The food is excellent. On the other side is a bar with really great food, I tried the blackened prime rib sandwich and it was really good. They are also known for their pizzas. This restaurant is located downtown so if you are staying at the Sheraton it's walking distance.
