Apgar Village Lodge

The Apgar Village Lodge is a nice place. It is located right on Lake McDonald. The beach out side is mostly rocks, but it is very beautiful. The rooms were clean and had a cozy feel to them.

The cabins at Apgar Village Lodge are the perfect place to decompress and "de-tech". We were afraid the lack of TV, internet, phone, etc. would leave us bored and out of our element. On the contrary, we spent five fantastic days enjoying the peaceful & beautiful surroundings, hiking and exploring. We kept up with current events the old fashioned way by reading the newspaper. The cabins are clean & well kept but a bit on the rustic side for those used to hoteling it. The staff was very gracious as well. Reservations for next year already made! With the lack of electronic stimulation, it may not be an ideal vacation spot for some families if children do not enjoy outdoor activities.

We stayed in one of the cabins. It was quite roomy and comfortable. Just steps to Lake McDonald and within easy walking distance to the local shops. These are very rustic cabins, so don't expect a lot - but if you want that wilderness feel - this is the place to stay
