Nicest staff I have ever met. The receptionists are so sweet and always remember my dog, Max everytime he comes in. The kennel staff always gives me time to say goodbye to Max before they take him outside to play, rather than just rushing him away from me! The groomer pays attention to exactly what I want and the haircut looks exactly like what I had in mind. I have read some of these reviews and I am appalled at those experiences. I have never experienced anything remotely close to what is described.

Cody is 14 year old dog who demands a lot of attention but he is also very sensitive to places and people that seem not to like dogs that much. Since we started visiting Dr. Gore at Spring Forest Animal Hospital seven years ago we knew this was the place for our dog. The staff is very friendly but Dr. Gore is he best! Cody loves to go the Vet, and he waves his tale like crazy every time he sees Dr. Gore and the staff. Lately Cody has had problems with his back legs and hip but Dr. Gore reassured me that he was going to be okay. In the past, I felt guilty leaving my dog at other boarding places but since we started using the boarding facility at Dr. Gore, I feel much better because I know they are going to take good care of him. We just love this place!.

Dr. Gore and her staff are professional & friendly and I'm so glad I found SFAH. I have a pet that needs frequent vet care so finding the perfect vet for me and my dog was so important. When I first brought my dog in and saw how Dr. Gore and her staff took their time and answered my every question (and I had many), I realized I found what I was looking for in a vet. They gave me detailed information on my pet's treatment and estimates so that I knew my financial responsibilities.
I am very particular in the care my animals get and I spent a lot of time researching this area for a vet.I highly recommend Dr. Gore and SFAH for ALL your animals needs!!

I am a former employee. I quit after seeing how terrible Dr. Gore is to the animals (in the back of course) and the people. There were times when she wasn't in the clinic and we were told to tell the people in the waiting rooms that she was busy with an emergency so we had to bring their animals into the back for her to look at them. Then she wanted us to take pictures of things and send them to her phone so she didn't have to come in to work. And there were times when she would charge for something, like an anesthetic, and then not use it so the animal would suffer and the person had to pay extra. There were also plenty of times when a dog would get aggressive and she would physically hit them. She is an okay vet, as in she can usually diagnose and treat problems, but DONT let your animals out of your sight and don't let her do anything in the back because you never know if it is actually getting done. She is great in person, but behind closed doors, she is a terrible, untrustworthy person. There are other good vets out there. Find someone who will be nice to your pet behind closed doors and who doesn't cut corners.

The best vet I have found in raleigh! My dog has special needs that Dr. Gore and her staff handle so well! I use the hospital as well as the boarding and grooming facility and would recommend it all to anyone who is picky about their pets care like I am! My dogs are my babies and I only want the best for them! That's why I choose spring forest animal hospital!

I recently moved to the area from out of state and had the opportunity to attend an open house at this facility. It was terrific. The facility itself was immaculate. The staff was so friendly and knowledgeable. I decided to try them out.

I had a wonderful experience. I was greeted by friendly staff on the day of my appointment and was seen immediately. My dog received excellent care and I was treated very well by the staff and Dr. Gore. They provided me with a lot of useful information and left me with the feeling that they truly cared about both my pet and myself.

The prices here seem comparable to other hospitals I have used out of state but the level of care seems to be a step above. Overall, I was extremely pleased with the experience and I am relieved to have found a great place to take my dog.

As the last few reviews have made clear Dr. Gore is the ultimate vet. I can't imagine a better vet. She has seen me through 5 dogs. When it came to end of life choices she was the only vet I ever knew who stepped up and voiced her opinion. Other vets are too scared to advise but that's what she is so great at. I trust her implicitly with my animals. She has worked with me financially repeatedly. Hell, she even performed a necessary surgery on my dog not knowing if I would ever pay her back just because she wanted the best for my dog. She has always explained everything in detail from medical issues to the bill. She has always saved me money where she could. Amazing vet!!! How anyone could give her a low score is beyond belief to me. I was always always indifferent in my opinions on vets. Now I'm going to miss the care she provides when I have to move.

I have known Dr. Gore for a long time both as a good friend and as a great vet. She truly cares more about your pets well being than any amount of money. She has done extra things for her customers, that they don't even know she did, and did not charge them. She does the little things that make the difference, and takes no short cuts on any procedure that she performs. Want honesty, integrity and a happy and healthy pet, Dr. Gore is your choice.

I have been taking my pets to Dr. Gore for over 5 years now. I can say nothing but great things about this hospital. All techs are very educated, and will jump through hoops in order to please their clients.
To disprove the comments of others...if the place can board your pet last minute...that obviously means that they will do their best to accomodate your pet(s).For all you know, you just booked the last spot!!
Every single time that I have taken my pets to sfah (whether it be for shots, boarding or if one were sick) the staff always gave a price range for costs of treatment. Even if costs are high, my pets always received the proper care they needed. I am a M.D.and unlike humans you cannot ask animals "whats wrong" and expect them to give you a straight forward answer! If people had any common sense they should know that bloodwork, x-rays etc. is the best first step to figure out what is wrong with your pets. So if people are always complaining about costs of their pets, then here's an idea......you probably shouldn't own them.

I use to work in a Vets office years ago and I'm so sick of people coming in with their sick pets and they want them treated but then when it comes time to pay they complain about this and that. If you dont want to pay your bill DONT bring your animal in. I've been taking my dog to SFAH for 2 years now and have been very happy with Dr. Gore and the staff........ Stop complaining people or dont have pets!!

Should've known since they always had openings in kennel at last mnute. Overcharge and never tell you about cost until it is too late and you have no choice but to pay the bill. Office staff is uneducated about vet med and can't answer simple questions, never tell you the truth about costs until it is too late and then instead of offering payment options ask you to sign up for a credit card. Never talk to the vet, only to the vet techs and receptionist who can't answer questions completely or are wrong. Vet does all labs in house and STILL charges more than any other vet. Giant rip off and unprofessional

I highly recommend NOT to take your animal here. After reading some of the other comments I will fully agree that they will nickel and dime you for every little thing they can. I have taken my dog there a few times for little things, but I noticed that something was wrong with her tooth right after she had been in there for a check-up. So I take her back up there to be looked at again. They tell me that it's her baby tooth that has broken off at the gum line and is rotting. Well, $400 dollars later her broken baby tooth is out. I thought it was high but I went with it. Well I schedule her to be boarded while I take my honeymoon. They said she gets a free bath and I asked for her nails to be trimmed the day before I come pick her up. When my wife picks her up she looks dirty and her nails were not freshly trimmed. We pay the bill and take her home. Later that evening she throws up a plastic toy. I call up there and they try to say that it was something she got into before I brought her up there. I adamantly deny this because I watch her like a hawk. Then they claim she had tennis ball in her fecal matter. I say that once again has to be from them. They claim they don't have tennis balls. Well. . . neither do I. I feel that people these days in business are more concerned about keeping the money in their pocket than they are with customer service and I am extremely disappointed with the service that my dog received while in their care. The best you're going to receive back from this vet is an apology, don't expect to see a dime refunded to you. . .

I could not have more positive things to say about Spring Forest Animal Hospital. Dr. Gore and the staff go above and beyond to meet the clients and animals needs alike. I am so glad that we found this hospital and would not take my dog to anyone other than Dr. Gore. She is an outstanding vet who truly has the animals best interests at heart!

I like Dr. G ok. She seems knowledgable. I have an old dog with an enlarged heart, so he coughs a lot and gets congested very easily. I take him to Dr. G b/c I can walk up the street to her clinic. My biggest complaint is her prices are astronomical. I had my dog in for a rabies vaccine and a recheck on his congestion 2 days ago, and I walked out of there with a $380 bill. My bills have gone beyond $400 before. I've shown her bills to other people in the field, and they've all been surprised at how high her prices are. I'm torn between leaving her and going to another vet and sticking with her b/c my dog is so at ease with her. I will also say that her staff is very friendly with the exception of her office manager, Teresa, who needs a lesson in gratitude for the prices the customers pay, which, in turn, pays her salary. Dr. Gore is a great vet if your dog has an unusual condition. She won't quit until she solves it. But I highly recommend you ask her what she's going to charge before she performs any test or procedure. I suspect she also performs procedures that aren't necessary. The grooming dept is high priced, as well. I used to take my dog there for nail clippings at $14.50 a pop. I now take him to PETCO where they charge $7. I have heard Magnolia is a great and affordable clinic. May switch there.

My cat had been losing weight for over a year and a half, and went from 12 lbs to 6 lbs. My previous vet kept saying that his blood test showed nothing was wrong with him. I took him to Dr Gore for a second opinion and have been very pleased. Dr. Gore put an incredible amount of effort into diagnosing him properly, and with her care he is now on the mend and is gaining weight for the first time in a couple of years. I can say with no reservations that Dr. Gore saved his life.
Her services are well worth her fees.

Pros: The boarding staff is great and I am at ease leaving my dog there for long weekends. The dog area is not huge but for the price it's well worth it.
Cons: I agree with Brad G. "this vet is a rip-off" and susan e. "pet med rip-off". I took my dog in to get groomed (I specifically said DO NOT SHAVE which they did anyway) and they called me up and said that he looked like he had an ear infection. I had noticed the day before that he did have an ear-infection and was going to take him to my actual vet the next day but figured since he's already in then why not just have him 'checked out' at Spring Forest. My dog did have an ear-infection, which he has had before and has cost me $22 at my previous vet in Colorado to get checked and some antibiotics. I walked out of Spring Forest with a $200 bill (they charged me $45 for an 'office visit' then another $18 to 'swab the ear'....seems a little redundant charging to me). In addition, he got a cortisone shot which I did not approve of, nor did my dog need that cost me another $30. Add on a few nickel and dimes and a $50 bill to shave my dog (like I specifically asked NOT to have done) and you've got yourself a pretty bad experience. I'd suggest finding a more honest vet in the Raleigh area.

Technically, I am sure this doctor knows what she is doing, but she has no common sense in her medical practice and the fees are outrageous. I came in with a slightly limping dog, and came out with a $750 bill just to get an x-ray, over $100 in medications, and a recommendation to crate him for two weeks. That's ridiculous. We had asked for an estimate before we agreed to have the work done, and all they would tell us is $80 for the diagnosis. Even after we complained, they did not tell us what the $50 charge for "miscellaneous injections" was for. On top of that, every time we have boarded at this vet, they have nickel and dimed us with new tests that have to be performed. Find yourself an honest vet and avoid Sprint Forest Animal Hospital.

Dr. Gore and her team are professional, caring and offer a wide range of services. She has been my vet for three years performing shots, maintenance care, ER and euthanasia for my two dogs, now one :(. I would recommend them to others who have the financial means. You will not have to wait for appointments or worry about animals that may not get along in the lobby.

The clininc, it's staff and Doctor Gore are all second to none and I use the kennel at Spring Forest for boarding exclusively.

The staff at Spring Forest Animal Hospital (both the vet and the kennel) is very friendly, explains things so that I can always understand it, and they truly love the animals they are helping. My dog actually gets excited every time we pull in the parking lot.

It would be hard to find a doctor much better then doctor Gore. I tried doctor Gore after having a problem with one of my dogs that my previous vet just simply couldn't diagnose. Dr. Gore was able to find out the problem and treat my bulldog back to perfect health. Since then she's been the doctor for my dogs.

If there was one thing I would change about spring forest animal hospital it would be the prices. I wouldn't say that they are terribly higher then other pet clinics except, perhaps, on their medications. I will say, however, that the high prices have not been enough to change my mind on my choice in pet care. I've always subscribed to the thought that "you get what you pay for" and as long as I can afford it Spring Forest will continue to be my choice for my animals.

Spring Forest Animal Hospital has the best staff and vet in Raleigh. I have worked in the medical field all my life and clients do not realize that Pet Meds will not tell you where they get their medications from because it is black market people. Clients also have no idea that numerous vets have lost their license to practice for ordering bulk shipments of medications and sending them to online services. Get the facts first, do not believe everything you read or here on T.V.. My family used another vet office in Cary which charged a whole lot more for office visits and surgery than my current vet, Dr. Gore, plus the staff is considerate and attentive when it comes to the needs of our animals. You must weigh out everything, not just the fact that 1 vet will not issue written prescriptions for black market purchases so you can say a buck or two.

While Spring Forest Animal Hospital has an amazing staff and boarding facility, and Dr. Gore is a good vet, she charges an outrageous amt. of money for pet medications. For example, Dr. Gore charges for 60 pills of each:
enalapril 5mg: $36.50 (North Wake Animal Hosp: $11.00
online @ PetMeds: $7.20),
theophylline 100 mg: $48.50 (North Wake Animal Hosp: $24.00
online @ PetMeds: $18.00),
thyrosyn 0.1mg: $36.50 (North Wake Animal Hosp. $3.00
online @ PetMeds: $3.60)
My dog needs these pills twice a day = $121.50/month from Dr. Gore versus $38.00/month from North Wake Animal Hosp. & $28.80 from PetMeds plus shipping.
Also, North Wake Animal Hosp. will write pet prescriptions so you can choose to get the meds online (it's required), but Dr. Gore will not because she's not convinced of where online pet meds are coming from. While that may be a valid point, I think #1: clients should be able to choose what they want to do & #2: considering the amt. she is charging for meds that reasoning seems pretty sketchy and #3: if she was really concerned about the pet's health she would lower her med prices - after all, North Wake Animal Hospital is charging a reasonable amt (& they have been in business for years) - why can't she?
One last comment: for my dog's reg. check up with North Wake they voluntarily cut her nails at no additional charge.

I will never take my animals to another vet. Dr. Gore is the most honest, caring, and hard working Doctor that I have ever met. My animals are happy and healthy due to the care they have received in her office. The staff is kind and loving to all of the clients and patients. I board my dog and cats there often and they love to go. T hanks Spring Forest Animal Hospital.

This place is SUCH A RIP OFF- totally unprofessional staff, lie about cost and take advantage of you when you have no choice. Walk in for a shot and end up with a $700 bill- try to board your dog and they call you when you are 300 miles
