My wife and I have eaten at Sals twice within the last month and were quite impressed both times. We loved the atmosphere of their bar area in the back. The food we both thought, was excellent. We have had their steaks, pasta, and burgers and thought they were as good as anywhere else in town. We will definitely be going back again!
When we first moved to this area, we asked where we could find "good" Italian food, and we were directed to Sal's. While the ambiance is nice (casual, but clean), we were disappointed with the quality of the meal. Being used to authentic Italian dishes, the chicken fettuccine Alfredo was average, and the meat sauce was mediocre at best (egg noodles and catsup comes to mind, from the movie Good fellas). We did not have the pizza, so can't attest to that. There are a number of other Italian Restaurants in Alamance County that provide better quality for your money, and are more satisfying to the palate. Do yourself a favor and look harder.

Was terrific in the 80s. Not so much any more...
Check out our full review at jjfoodblog ! Quick review - great breadsticks, chicken florentine is a must, I loved the chicken parmigiana, meat lasagna and italian lemon cream cake - check it out. Stay away from the alfredo dishes and veal saltimbocca.
