5 Stars: Reference to the previous REVIEW (by Quail Corners A.)

First & foremost it is very disappointing that this "client" feels this way toward our hospital. The majority of the things that she says in her review are incorrect & totally outrageous! Our sole intention when this elderly dog arrived was to HELP it. She was brought to our hospital after a good samaritan found her cold & distraught in the woods. I will not resort to the same type of slander that this client has chosen but I will explain that this dog is far from HEALTHY!! Upon her admission exam she was discovered to have MANY debilitating problems. It is obvious to us that this dog was in pain when she arrived in our hospital and because we are dedicated to HELPING animals, we found it necessary to relieve her painRATHERthan wait to see if someone claimed her or not.
We were elated when her true owner was found. We were not greeted with the same elation!! This person became quite a tyrant as soon as she arrived. It became clear to us that the fact that this dog was given pain relief, a warm place to sleep and a nice meal instead of being lost in the woods all night didn't matter; it was all a monetary issue to the owner!! Our experience is that most pet owners are very appreciative that we are here to help their pets in situations such as this!! Quite frankly, this person would most likely not even have been asked to pay if she had not been so condescending, spiteful, noisy and just plain NASTY when she arrived!!

5 Stars: Personal & Friendly (by Meghan M.)

Quail Corners took care of my old labrador when she was very sick towards the end of her life - every staff member understood how painful the situation was for my family and welcomed our constant visits. We were comforted knowing that we were trusting our dog to very a responsible, friendly, and personable staff.

1 Stars: Horrid Staff - Expensive "emergency" services (by Lisa S.)

My dog got out of our gate late last night and a kind neighbor found her and took her to this place. My relief at finding my dog safe and sound was tempered by the obnoxious charges and RUDE service from the people at Quail Corners Animal Hospital. In additional to the emergency boarding (which I was glad to pay, knowing my dog was safe), the other emergency charges they deemed necessary were an emergency nail trimming and an emergency ear cleaning. All of this was done between midnight and 7am, when I was out searching the neighborhood for my dog. If the dog was hit by a car, or otherwise injured, I understand some immediate medical attention is needed. But my dog was healthy - she was just lost - and not in need of emergency medical care other than a safe place to be until the neighbor called me this morning. The people working there were also incredibly rude. I stood at the counter in obvious distress and was ignored by three workers before the counter lady stopped counting her cash register long enough to acknowledge me. The doctor could not explain why they did so much to my dog other than to repeat one phrase over like a robot. All this happened BEFORE I was allowed to see my dog, so they made sure to get their money before even letting me see if my dog was alright.I would NEVER under any circumstances return to this place or recommend it to anyone in an emergency situation. There are other 24 hour vets close enough to this one that are far better in service and caring attitude.

5 Stars: Previous unhappy reviewer is way off the mark! (by Kaye M.)

I absolutely recommend Quail Corners as the best veterinary hospital I know in terms of quality of services, knowledge, and genuine compassion for animals. I have been a client of this hospital since 1986. Although a few of the faces have changed over time, this facility has consistently provided the highest quality of care to my own pets as well as the fosters and rescues I have helped.

As a long-time client who has experience with both their regular and after hours services, I hope anyone who reads this will give due consideration to my review. I have had to take my pets, fosters, and rescues to the after-hours emergency clinic so many times over the years that I know the staff very well and cannot imagine them responding in the way the unhappy reviewer described. Their primary concern is to provide immediate care to any needy animal who comes in their door, and they do not base treatment decisions on its status as a valued pet or an unclaimed stray. May I remind this person that nail trims and ear cleanings are standard care practices an owner should be regularly providing for the pet's comfort and hygiene. It attests to the thoroughness of the care provided by this facility that they noticed this neglect, in addition to other health issues, and immediately began to take what practical steps they could to make this "stray" as comfortable as possible - even before knowing if the owner would ever appear or if they would ever be compensated.

As for the price complaint, all I can say is, a responsible owner knows that having a pet - and doing the right thing by it - does not always come cheap. For me, the assurance of knowing there is going to be a knowledgeable professional available 24/7 is worth the fee involved. You would pay a higher price for a hospital emergency room, an after-hours plumber, locksmith, etc. all for the convenience - why is this any different? Had they not been available that night, your dog might have wandered further away or been run over - instead of being kept safe and tended to, just so you could go get her and give these hard-working people a rough time.
