I've been there 3 times this week and haven't been able to find anyone who could help me with doors. When I did find someone who said they could help, they couldn't answer my questions. It's frustrating.
When we remodelled our whole kitchen ten years ago, the service was wonderful. When we remodelled our bathroom 5 years ago, the service was ok.
For the record, we couldn't get any better help at Lowes on the doors. We ran into another couple looking at doors at Lowes, and then again at Home Depot, who seemed to be having the same problem as us.
On a positive note, I love the flowers at Home Depot.
Also, returns are easy. They just need more people on the floor who are knowledgeable about more areas.

Every time we go to HD we always can get help unlike some other hardware stores that I won't mention. I would much rather go to a place and spend my money where people acknowledge me then to go in a store where I have to hunt someone down to ask a question.

This store kills me sometimes. For some things its good. Like they have a good selection on ceiling fans and I bought all my faux wood blinds for them for my old and new house. So i like them better than lowes sometimes.
But i hate checking out at this place. They 9 times out of 10 only have the self-checkout lanes open with the one employee watching over all 4 stations. I think i've been through this self thing once where i didnt need help. The computers are just to sensitive to work correctly for large bulky items, or even regular items for that matter sometimes. Most of the time we all stand around at our register waiting on the employee to help us so we can leave. Wouldnt it be quicker just to have the person check us out at one register in a line.
Any rate okay store, okay employees, but self checkout stinks .
PROS: Nice selection of homey type stuff like blinds and fans
CONS: Self checkout

There's nothing like finishing your errands and stopping for a hot dog. There's usually a vendor outside, and though the chips are generally stale, the hot dogs are decent and affordable. It's great for kids or people who don't like home depots- entertain them with processed meat!
