I've always enjoyed eating at Peaden's. They are friendly and fast. You simply can't beat their Wed/Thurs $3.99 order out special!! To the reviewer that commented about Sandpiper's food being better.... Peaden's restaurant is clean, but I can't say that about Sandpiper.

We went here recently for the first time and the food was horrible. The BBQ was dry and needed more seasoning such as vinegar. The fish was overcooked and too greasy. We all suffered from indigestion afterwards. The only good food was the hushpuppies and, of course, the tea. If you're looking for good southern BBQ, I would recommend to eat somewhere else.

However, I love Peaden's. The history behind what used to be a one room building that now has even a party room just makes the food even better. Jimmy and Ricky truly appreciate thier customers and love to get to know them. Oh, and I can't stop eating those hushpuppies and thier weds/thurs 3.99 special!
P.s. the waitresses aren't too bad looking either!

Peadens is by far the best seafood restaurant in all of the East coast. I have been going there since I was a little girl and I am now 41 years old. The prices have not changed hardly any at all. It is a Family run business and that probably is the answer to why they are so consistant with the food, service, and cleanliness of their restaurant. My husband is in the military and we have traveled all over the world. I have not tasted any seafood, bbq, or chicken (stips or whole) better than what Peadens offers. We have been to functions at the Pentagon and guess who was catering?? Thats right, Peadens. That in itself says a tremendous amount about this Restaurant. When General Shelton requests that Peadens be their caterer, and I am sure he has access to most any caterer, what more can you say?? Jimmy and Ricky Peaden are without a doubt first class business men and if you want an excellent meal at a great cost, go to Peadens. Maybe I will see you there.

We have been eating at Peaden's for over twenty-five years. We dine there at least once a month and sometimes more! With every visit we are guaranteed great service and food that is tasty and hot! Although the prices have recently went up, the meals are still a great value and worth every penny! We like going to a place that is consistently good! We have never been disappointed.

Ricky and Jimmy do a great job in every respect.
I am not sure where the previous reviewer went, but it wasn't Peaden's.
There is nothing wrong with their food. Virtually everyone I know LOVES their food and as far as the quality, it is always tops!

Given all I've heard about this place, and the "we're back" ad they ran in the Observer this week, I really expected more from this place. The hushpuppies were good, but nothing to write home about.

I ordered the Captain's Platter, since I'd never been and wanted to try it all. First off, what the heck is this strip of chicken breast on my plate. At a bbq restaurant, when people order chicken, they expect fried chicken, not chicken tenders. The shrimp was obviously frozen and pretty flavorless. The BBQ was ok but needed vinegar and Texas Pete to give it any flavor. The catfish was probably the best part of the meal. The fries were bland and boring, the kind you'd find for $1.99 in the frozen food aisle of IGA. Coleslaw was ok. Also, using tea concentrate, as I'm convinced they do, is a disgrace to Southern cuisine.

At $8.99 a plate for this subpar Southern cooking, I'll take my money elsewhere. Sandpiper, to be specific.

Cons: subpar food for the price, avg. service, fake tea

My wife and revisited Peadens the first time in several years on 06-06-07.We had forgot how great the food was. There are several seafood restaurants closer to our home than Peadens, but from now on we will drive the extra miles to eat here. The service, atmosphere and food was outstanding. You will love it.

Pros: inexpensive, excellent food

Cons: call for hours

Peadens has a very family friendly atmosphere. They catered a school function that I attended recently and the food was fabulous! Their prices are very reasonable (they must be if a public school is using their catering service!). They have, by far, the best hush puppies in town. I give them a big thumbs up!
