We have been taking our vizslas to Bayleaf Animal Hospital for more than 7 years. We could not be any happier with the compassion and care provided by Dr. Wilson, his other vets and his staff. They have the best practice in the Raleigh area and perhaps state wide. I have recommended him to other family members and friends who now have formed the same five-star impression of the practice. Obviously I will never change vets!

I started taking my two Cocker Spaniels to see Dr Wilson just this past year. Upon my first visit, I was thoroughly impressed by Dr Wilson and the front desk staff, and have been very pleased every time since. I can't say enough about how thorough and intelligent Dr Wilson is, and how unbelievably calm, polite, and compassionate he is. He acts as though he has known me and my dogs for years, and pets them and acts as lovingly toward them as if they were his own dogs. I feel very fortunate to live and work near Bayleaf, but even if I were quite a distance away, I would still go there. I have been a dog owner for 12 yrs, and have tried various vets, but have never had an experience on this level. My Cockers and I highly recommend Dr Wilson and Bayleaf!

Dr. Wilson is a superlative doctor. He is experienced, kind, and wise. I am completely devoted to my dogs, and I would never take them to anyone else . . . even though I have to drive 30+ minutes from Cary to get there!

Dr. Wilson is one of the most kind vets there is. He listens to the owner, gives feedback and lets the owner make the decision. I have been taking my dogs to Bayleaf for 25 years. While Dr. Wilson is an outstanding vet - I do not feel the same about one of the partners. Sadly that has caused me now to leave this practice in search of a new vet. I won't risk having to see the other vet when Dr. Wilson is not available.

Bayleaf has a wonderful facility and I feel extremely comfortable leaving my dog Doodle with the staff and doctors'. I agree with the review below because I had been buying from pet meds and then Bayleaf told me that they had better prices and it is true! Bayleaf beats petmeds. To me, it wasn't worth the ease of petmeds. Dr. Wilson was great with diagnosing Doodle's medical conditons and when Doodle went in for surgery Dr. Wilson even texted me upon request to let me know that everything went well and she was in recovery. Chris, the groomer, helped us find a cute summer cut that would keep her cooler with her long coat. Overall Bayleaf is highly professional and maintains a clean and up-to-date facility. The front desk is a hoot and I love getting to chat with them every time Doodle goes in for routine care. When Doodle ate a pound of chocolate I paged the doctor on call (sadly for them around dinner time) and whichever one it was..called me back within 10 minutes and was very comforting and told me it would be alright. Doodle was fine of course and still her spunky self! Doodle loves Bayleaf just as much as I do.

Also I highly recommend people look at all the positive comments and look at all the negative. It doesn't even seem like these nay-sayers have even been to Bayleaf! I would just like to point that out for first-timers. Go see for yourself!

We have been taking all of our animals to Dr. Wilson since he opened Bayleaf Veterinary Hospital in 1982. He is the most compassionate, professional and intelligent doctor we have ever found. Dr. Wilson has always been very diligent in diagnosing our animals various diseases or orthopaedic issues. He is an excellent surgeon as he has performed an ACL repair on our dogs knees as well as removing a tumor, to a wonderful ear crop years ago on our schnauzer. Dr. Wilson always has time for us and our stories. He explains the medical issues and in terms that we can understand. Plus, he always is very specific about expectations and costs of procedures. The prices at Bayleaf Veterinary Hospital are very reasonable and are much lower than other animal hospitals in the area. On prescription medications Dr. Wilson's prices are better than PetMeds!! I would never take my animals anywhere else.. Dr. Wilson and Bayleaf are Five Star in our family's book!!

We have taken our Siamese cats to Bayleaf for the last 25+ years. The staff is absolutely fantastic. We moved 40 minutes away from Bayleaf a few years ago - tried another vet. & went right back to Dr. Wilson! We wish our MD showed as much care and concern for us as Craig has shown for our kitties.

We started taking our two Labs to Bayleaf on a recommendation from a few co-workers. One of our dogs was having problems with her knee and the vet we were using kept telling us that it was just a sprain. After a week we decided to get a second opinion. This was the first time we met Dr. Wilson. He came into the exam room, made all the introductions, and started to examine our dog. Immediately he found the problem - a Patella Luxation. Dr. Wilson was very straight forward with us on what exactly happened to her knee, what needed to be done to correct the problem, how much it was going to cost, and what we could expect after surgery was completed. It has been a year and a half since the surgery and our little girl is doing wonderfully. My husband and I were very surprised at the amount of time Dr. Wilson took with us to answer all of our questions and go over all the nuts and bolts. This is way out of the norm with other vets we have been to. The staff at Bayleaf is very professional, their costs are competitive, and they know their stuff. I would highly recommend Dr. Wilson, Bayleaf Vet Hospital and their staff.

We have a timid dog and I have been thrilled at how she has been treated. At another vet in Raleigh, she was dragged around the exam room and wrestled with. I just love that they give her time and respect her. She always gets lots of petting and treats. They have been really wonderful with her and fitting us in as needed. We have moved to Knightdale, but continue to use Bayleaf. With the experiences that we have had, I would NEVER go anywhere else.

I can only say great things about Bayleaf Veterinary Hospital. Every Doctor that I have seen, every Tech, and the front office staff have all been wonderful. I have been going there for years....and I have been there a lot with my two dogs and two cats. Dr. Wilson has been more than generous with his time and patience with me. Dr. Sullivan and Dr. Ferguson have also been very kind and patient. The great thing about them is that not only are they knowledgeable but they really do care. I started going to them years ago because I was going to a large practice nearby and I felt that every time I took a pet in they wanted to do more and more "routine" services and the bills got higher and higher to the point of ridiculous. Bayleaf does not do that. With Bayleaf I feel that they do what should be done and no sneaky extras. My sister in law and my father in law take their pets there now as well and they have been extremely satisfied. I can't imagine going anywhere else. They are the best.

We have had long stays with Park Vet (Durham), Bowman (N. Raleigh), and Magnolia (N. Raleigh) in the past. Those three weren't completely horrible, but they were very deficient in at least one of what I deem to be key areas: vet/staff competency, pricing, and vet/staff professionalism, and cleanliness.. Contrary to the few negative reviews posted, our experience at Bayleaf has been very good. The vets care and are competent, the staff is - if not overly friendly - competent, the prices are reasonable, and the office is clean. We have had no scams or misdiagnoses. One of our dogs has many medical issues and Bayleaf has corrected past misdiagnoses from other vets and has provided great care. We have had to go there late in the evening and have gotten great care and accurate diagnosis. Overall, we highly recommend Bayleaf.

I have been going to Bayleaf Veterinary Hospital for probably 20 years now. When I moved to Raleigh from Durham, I went to 3 other practices before I found Dr. Craig Wilson. After I met Dr. Wilson, I was sold on moving my pets to Bayleaf Veterinary. There were many things about him - his professionalism, knowledge, ability to explain things in layman's terms, willingness to take the time to address my issues, and his calm and friendly demeanor to name a few. And his staff deliver their services with the same professionalism.

I've called the emergency number a couple of times over the years and got a quick and helpful response.

If I had a complaint with Bayleaf, it would be that I don't get to see Dr. Wilson often enough! But I am satisfied with all of his staff.

We recently took our beloved Golden Retriever of 14 years to be put to sleep due to a recent paralysis. Bayleaf handled it beautifully and even sent us a sympathy card the next day. They are truly in business because they love animals. The prices are very competitive and the staff are all professional!!!

We recently had a dog losing weight and lacking appetite so we called on Friday to schedule an exam for Monday. Instead, they got us in that day and worked past closing time to take care of her immediately. She needed surgery so they shuffled their surgery schedule around to get her in first thing.

I have been taking my cats and dogs to Bayleaf for several years in addition to rescue dogs we take there. I've had 2 dogs need surgery as well as emergency needs for 1 dog. Dr. Wilson, Dr. Ferguson and Dr. Kolstad have always been absolutely wonderful. They make recommendations that ensure quality care for my pets while keeping the costs affordable. The front office staff always manage to get us in when we call.

Their building isn't brand new so I didn't give it the 5th star (noted as World Class) but it is clean, comfortable, and completely functional. There are a couple of clinics in the area that have very modern buildings (and you can tell from their prices) but I don't want to pay for someone's cathedral ceiling when I go to the vet. I want to pay for quality care from conscientious vets and you get that from Bayleaf, without question.

It's also worth noting that I manage a specialty veterinary clinic that doesn't cover a lot of general needs so I have a different expectation than most pet owners. I know how hard it is to find great vets and clinic staff but Dr. Wilson has done it.

I have taken my animals to Bayleaf for over 15 years. They are not close to my home but they are worth every trip. I can not say enough good things about the staff, the doctors care or the cost. I am always pleased with both. I trust each and every one of them with my beloved dog (now gone) and 6 cats. A wonderful atmosphere, reasonable prices and great doctors!

My family has also been taking our 4 pets to Bayleaf and Dr. Wilson for over 15 years... Dr. Wilson is a man of high integrity and I would recommend them over ANY of the other Vet's in the area hands down. One example was when we had to put down our first cat, they did it with care and actually sent a flower to our house the next day. To me, the care and treatment of the animals from their staff echos the words of the first reviewer but from a different perspective... yes, you do get what you pay for at Bayleaf... high quality veterinary care, caring support employees and a place that you can trust has the best in mind for your pets and family.

I completely disagree with the first posting. We have been a loyal customer of Dr. Wilson and Bayleaf for over a decade. They treat all 5 of our pets and have always been extremely kind and professional. As a frequent customer I can advise that our vet bills are always very competitive and they have been flexible with the payment plans, if needed. Additionally, it is probably worth mentioning that we now reside over 30 minutes away from this vet and have tried our local vets closer to home...but are not nearly as satisfied...so we continue to drive back for the professional and courteous care that Dr. Wilson and his staff provide.

My dog Max a black lab was a patient of this practice for 11 years. My dog developed breathing difficulties very suddenly. This vet practice not only did not diagnose the problem but refused to help my dog when he became so ill that his lungs filled with fluid and he could not even lay down. Bayleaf refused to see him and could not be botherdd to see him. I had to take him in the middle of the night to another emergency practice (Quail Corners Animal Hospital) and they drained his lungs and diagnosed him with lung cancer. He received very compassionate care there and even though he had to be euthanized a few days later, I felt that Quail Corners did everything they could to save him.
