This place is near my office and I've been going frequently for lunch for about 6 years. Their best dish is their chicken red curry, which is amazing and always just perfect. Not too spicy, not too bland, perfect texture, and good amount

My wife and I have eaten at Lemongrass several times and fine it to be the closest to our taste in Thai food in Raleigh. We had an unfortunate meal last night that began with our Larb salad containing pieces of crockery

I've never had to write a review about this subject before, but it was so overt that my experience can be explained in no other way. This is honestly quite surprising, as most other reviews are so glowing (though most are 5-7 years old, I

THE BEST chicken pad thai --- we order chicken pad thai no tofu 1 star spicy....try it!
Kids will love chicken fried rice with pineapple.
Take it home -- travels well.

I think take-out is probably the way to go as it has all the ambiance of a dentist's office. I was shocked to have a thai meal for 2 come out to over $40. The Bangkok chicken was satisfying but overpriced for its' portion, the mixed

This place is fabulous! The food is so fresh and the prices are very reasonable. I go for lunch several times a month and cannot get enough.

We've been living here for 3+ years and have heard great things about Lemongrass. I have tried to order delivery from them numerous times and they never answered the phone. I finally got through about a week ago (likely a week day) and we ordered and it was still great food. I tried to order tonight (a Friday) and nobody answered the phone again - for 4 calls. Maybe their driver only works every third week or something??

Lemongrass Thai is great. The food is wonderful, I don't remember the environment well enough to comment, so that must have made it a little less than outstanding. I love Pad Thai when it's not overly spicy and I enjoy it here!
4This is probably some of the best Thai around, and especially at the lunch special prices. For $9 you can get an entree, appetizer and a drink. I tend to get the same thing almost every time; Kee Mao Noodles, Thai salad and tea. They have a wonderful peanut dressing for the salad. Their currys are also very good. My husband always orders the Shrimp Pad Thai and salad.

Whenever a girlfriend wants to go out for lunch, I always recommend Lemongrass Thai. I just love their pad thai. The staff is sweet and the service very good. My favorite place for Thai food.
4LEmongrass Thai restaurant is a great place to eat and one of my favorites when I visit Raleigh. The service is always good and they have a nice selection of kids meals.
4We go here regularly for lunch and have always been happy and satisfied with the quality and consistency of their food. And $8 for their lunch special is really a good deal (entree, appetizer, and drink). I've also been very pleased with their togo service. Always prompt and pleasant.

Having been in the restaurant business in the past for many years, I have very high standards. Food Quality at Lemongrass is amazing, the must have dish is their Red Curry Chicken. Please don't expect great ambiance or decor. However the service is very attentive and courteous. The price is on par. You owe it to yourself if you truly like authntic Thai food to try it out. Thanks guys You are on the LIST!!!!

I have liked the food I have ordered from here. My husband and I enjoy the red and green curry chicken, the spring rolls, the kids meal choices. Maybe a little pricey on the dinner meals.

Well sorry guys I had to write this. My wife and I are from out of town where we use to have many very good thai restaurants. This one happens to be near our house and fell for the menu a number of times.
I will touch on three things, if these change they should run an advertisement.
1) Tom Kha Gui - chicken with coconut soup. There were really nothing in it. Not a pinch of lemongrass, maybe a piece of a mushroom floating around, not a drip of chili oil.... Tasted like they used skim milk. The worst !!! This happened on multiple occasions...
2) Pad Thai - eh.
3) Fresh Summer Rolls - cold ones, rice paper. You know the inside where you could find neats things like basil, mint, cilantro, maybe a little left over tofu, maybe carrot, vermicilli? Not here how about romaine lettuce and vermichilli. Ya know the dark sweet dipping sauce. Peanut sauce here only.
I wish this place was better. It made my do not call or stop list.
Sawadessee on Capital is pretty darn good, just small.

being an Asian cook, i am already picky about pan Asian food. especially combined with my experience of working in a Thai restaurant before, i sampled every Thai restaurants in the area and Lemongrass is hands-down the most authentic. it has the essence of true home style Thai cooking. service is excellent as the staff always wear, as they call it, a "Thai smile." food serve FAST!!! they use fresh ingredients and give you just the right serving. the restaurant is clean and homey. the price is totally reasonable!

We have been going to Lemongrass since they opened and immediately got hooked. We crave the delicious food and often celebrate special occasions there! Lisa and Charlie are like family now and simply the most gracious hosts and certainly the best Thai chefs around! The servers are extremely courteous and accomodating too. We have tried almost everything on the menu, all are delicious but our favorites are the Summer Rolls, Fried Calamari, Pad Thai with Tofu, Kee Mao, Hai Lum and Chicken Panang. Chicken yellow curry rates high too! You can ask for it to be almost no spice and request the condiment tray to spice it up to your liking. Or you can ask them to spice it up for you! Either way, you can't go wrong and you can't go wrong with anything you chooose from the menu. I actually rate Lemongrass ten stars but had to settle with what was available. Go soon and enjoy!

Pros: Ambience and food
They have very good Thai food with fast friendly service. It is family owned and they know their Thai food! You should ask about what ingredients they use and the ?health? benefits and why they chose to use them.
I don?t like too spicy and they were able to accommodate me. But they can go more traditional and give you the really spicy stuff too if you ask too.

Though the location is a tad out of the way for those not close by, it is a "must go". Consistently fantastic on every trip. Addictingly delicious with professional service.

My wife and I have eaten here on several occasions and have generally enjoyed it except for the most recent visit on Feb 20, 2007. The food is acceptable - but it is somewhat bland as far as Thai goes.
The restaurant is clean and has a nice, casual atmosphere. I cannot give this restaurant more than 4 out of 10 because they made it clear (in not so many words) that we are not their preferred type of customers. I grew a somewhat long beard since my last visit and I guess that they do not want to offend their yuppie customers. Well they can have the restaurant to themselves - we are not going back.

I am Thai and I have never been more happy to have found this place. The staff is very friendly and they're always happy to see you. The Pad Thai, which is one of Thailand's most prominent dishes, has the perfect balance of sweet, sour, and salty flavors. Spice does not come with any dish except curry, so don't forget to request it. They have the freshest and sweetest mangoes in the summer and the mangoes and sticky rice dessert is a must-have. Their lunch special is incredible and I would come here for lunch everyday if I didn't have classes all morning. Even the thai tea and thai coffee are perfect! Go to this place!!!

Whoa! My dish at Lemongrass Thai Restaurant definitely cleared my sinuses! They should bring out boxes of Kleenex with your utensils. Yes, their dishes can be hot and spicy - and this one was a little too hot for my particular taste - but the flavor was good nevertheless and the ingredients were fresh and colorful. My friend got a non-spicy dish that was really good. I'll probably take everyone else's advice and try the curry or the pad thai next time, and maybe request that the kitchen turn down the heat, but one thing is certain - there will be a next time!

We were looking for Thai on Citysearch and heard about Lemongrass through this site. It has been a great find- we have to drive a little ways to get here but it is absolutely worth it! The service is wonderful and the food is incredible. We often take people here who are visiting from out of town and they are always pleased. Thanks for the recommendations!

We have been here twice, to date. I tired the red curry and it was absolutely fantastic. The second time, I tried the Yellow curry and that was very good as well, but my particular taste is for the red curry. My wife tried two different dishes. I can't remember what she ordered, but the first time her dish was not quite as good as the second time. We had two friends join us the first time and they like the food very much. It is a very plain, small place, but enjoyable atmosphere.

I agree with the posters who said that the flavor is a little lacking. I've been eating thai for many years, and have learned to cook it. Lemongrass seems to have forgotten the fundamental principle that hot/spicy, sweet, sour, salty, and bitter are brought together in either one dish or several small ones in the same meal. Their ginger stir fry was flat, as was their vegetable stir fry; I could taste sweet and salty but nothing else. Their Pad Thai, though, is much better and I still occasion the restaurant, but when I order I try to keep their culinary limitations in mind. Awesome service, though!

My wife and I eat at Lemongrass at least once a week. I can understand that the service can sometimes be slow, but it is not for a lack of effort. The waitstaff is extremely nice, and they always try to please. Sometimes when it is crowded they will get behind a little bit, but waitstaff's personalities will make you forget all about the wait. If you know this going in then there are no worries. The food is well worth the wait. I haven't had a bad meal there. The chicken red curry, kee mow noodle, larb, and pad thai are awesome. I would recommend trying the soups as well. They also have a sister restaurant in New York that I have eaten in as well. The owners know Thai food well and you will not be disappointed.

Went there couple times, but did not enjoy the experience. The food was a disappointment. Have had better Thai food elsewhere in Raleigh. But their Thai Ice Tea was not bad. The quality of food is not worthy of the price. Did not get any respect from the waitress...was very rude. The ambiance was very simple. In counclusion, would not recommend ppl to go. Total disappointment. :(

Lemongrass is an awesome place if you're looking for amazing Thai food. Their curries are all excelent and the soft shell crab special is absolutely awesome. Actually any of their basil sauce dishes are amazing. This is one of the few places in town where I can actually get food as spicy as I like it, but if you're not into the spicy fare, they will make it just the way you like it!

Three of us eat at this establishment often and have yet to be disappointed.
Food and service have been consistently good, prices, esp. for lunch, are very reasonable.
Would recommend this restaurant to those who enjoy Thai food and they will adjust 'heat' to taste.

Finally, there is a Thai restuarant that has real Thai authentic dishes. Each restuarant has their own special dishes. I'd go to Sushi-Thai for Sauteed Crispy Duck with Basil. But at Lemongrass, we Love their Pad thai and their rich curry (with green papaya salad on the side). ^^

Coming from a large city I have delveloped a taste for authentic thai cuisine. Lemongrass is the best in the Triangle by far. The service was great but the food was outstanding. I had the Duck Panang and my husband had the Pad thai noodles. Both were great! Glad you guys are here!

The food here is pretty good. It is a strip mall fast sit-down or pick-up restaurant. This is not one of those ugly chineese junk boxes, but just as small. They serve EVERYTHING on the mild side, so you have to tell them how spicy you want it. The springrolls are good, but need a little basil (better than a taste of thai), and the dipping sauce is very good. The curries are rich & sticky rather than soupy; the pad thai is sweet & has a bit of all the right flavors, but no flavor is strong, the soups are pretty mild. This is a different style of Thai than any other place I have been to. It's not the greatest, but for an inexpensive price you can try a bit different taste.

I had the vegetable stir fry with tofu, an egg roll and ice tea. The tea was excellent. The egg roll was uninspired, although the dipping sauce was good. Not great- just good. The entree was bland. No subtle flavor and no spice. As far as Thai food goes, I've tried every place in the Raleigh/Cary area and can only recommend Thai Villa and Sawasdee.
