Had both headlights go out one day after another. Since I work late into the night, it was either take my car here to get my headlights changed or drive home with no headlights at all. I should have gambled and driven home and changed them myself the next day. While I was here at the Uptown Goodyear Tire, I decided to get an oil change. I knew that the oil change would cost $39.99. What was the price of my oil change and two headlights? $130. And if that was not insulting enough, I had told the employee that I had already purchased my own bulbs but that I had attempted to change one and still no light...they advised me that they are ""unable to use customer bought parts."" I could understand that, except for the fact that I use top of the line ""silverstar"" brand bulbs, and what they gave me were regular...poor quality bulbs for $90. Will definately find somewhere less overpriced anytime I need the smallest thing done to my car.

Needed inspection but chk engine light was on.Went to Advance Auto for diagnostic test & they said it was EGR valve & prob just needed cleaning. I called Goodyear on Harris b/c they 're close by.Told them what Advance said & that I wanted to make an appointment. He said I didn't need one & to jst come in.So nxt day I went &told them what I needed.Was told I'd need to make an appt & would have to come back. I said I'd been told otherwise on the phone.He didn't say a word.So I jst got a quote of like $93 or something which I was told was came straight off the computer &made an appt for the next day. When I got there-no appt in the system for me.Said they'd fit me in.I told them again Advance said it was my EGR valve and that it PROBABLY needed to be cleaned.They said OK & ""cleaned"" it & turned my chk engine light off.Said it'd be $120.Told them quoted $93.He looked at me like I was stupid&told me to decribe the person who quoted me then said ""ok I'll just charge you that."" NINE miles later the light'sback on. Come to find out it may have needed to be replaced instead of cleaned which doesn't cost much more than cleaning but no one MENTIONED that to me at Goodyr.In fact they didn't speak to me at ALL about my car.Just about appts &money.I went to Advance to get the test redone & still the EGR valve. So I took it to Metrolina Tire (AWESOME HONEST place)& told them my story.The girl GUESSED where I was describing before I even told her &said they always hear complaints abt Goodyr.Said they'd look at it for free & that $93 was a CRAZY price for that cleaning.They charge $40.They checked it out &said it looked like Goodyr must have jst blown on it b/c it was really dirty still &cleaned it for me right then.They said that if light came back on they wouldn't charge me for the cleaning & would jst replace it. Walked out paying $0 b/c he said to wait & see what hppnd &that I could pay for the cleaning if it worked whn I came back for inspection.Light hasn't come back on since.

Over a year ago, Goodyear Auto Service Center in Uptown Charlotte, North Carolina was THE place to take your vehicle for two key and fundamental reasons:\r\n\r\n1.\tQuality of care of the vehicle; and\r\n2.\tQuality of care of the consumer.\r\n\r\nOver the past year and a couple of encounters with a specific sales associate, it is with sadness and great disappointment that I will no longer be a patron of this Goodyear Auto Service Center. While the overall care of my vehicle is still satisfactory, the poor quality of care of the consumer overrides that. \r\n\r\nDuring a recent ?emergency? visit with a flat tire in the trunk and a spare to get me to the Service Center there was a misunderstanding and miscommunication with the entire situation. While I was distraught over the situation I could have easily been assuaged with an apology over the matter, which over the two day event I never received. Instead I felt as if I were receiving belligerence and antagonism.\r\n\r\nOnce there was a day that no matter what I brought my vehicle in for I was greeted with a smile and assurances that things would be taken care of and they were. Now when you walk into the Service Center it is a gamble on how you are greeted by who is behind the counter; and before if things didn?t go quite as expected, in the end it was ok because of the service I personally received. \r\n\r\nOn all the paperwork I signed there is a statement that if you are not 100% satisfied to let them know. The associate, and possibly others, knew of my disappointment and dissatisfaction at the time of the matter and there still wasn?t even an insincere apology thrown my way. \r\n
