Mountain House Pancakes

Wonderful place to eat while in Boone NC. The prices are reasonable. I would recommend eating there if you enjoy good country cooking. The service is not the best but the food is worth it.

Wonderful country cooking- lots of choices on the breakfast menu and stacks of golden pancakes are just some of the reasons why I love this place! The great service with a smile and the reasonable prices round out this place to make it an instant favorite!

We've been eating at the Mountain House for years and years. If you want breakfast any time of day, this is the place to go. I love their omelets, the kids are all about the pancakes or waffles. They have daily lunch or dinner specials that rotate around, but also have standard items like burgers, sandwiches, and salads. The prices are fair. It is good country cooking.

It can be a busy, busy place, especially when there are lots of tourists in town! Sometimes you can wait in a line, sometimes they'll need a party of your size sooner. They are picky about having your party all there before they'll seat you! Its just a quirk we've become accustomed to.

This is a Cracker Barrell style place with a gift shop in the front. There was a 20-minute wait when my party arrived and the staff refused to even put our name on the list because 1 of our party wasn't there yet. Once we finally got our name on the list, we ended up waiting 40 minutes to be seated while parties of the same size that arrived well after us were seated ahead of us. Once seated, we waited a long time before seeing a waiter. It was another 20 minutes to get our food, but it didn't all come out at once and half of our party was finished by the time the other half even got their food. We also witnessed the management fuss at a young girl who accidently knocked over a display in the crowded wait area. This place gave us a very bad vibe and the food was just mediocre and certainly not worth waiting for! I would definitely not return.
