Language Tots will be closing at the end of June 2011, so I wanted to take this opportunity to state that for the last two years my children have blossomed and grown in the wonderful environments created by Ms. Regina, Ms. Rosie, Ms. Erin, Ms. Natalia, Ms. Fatima, and Ms. Melissa. These teachers and the rest of the LT staff are great educators and care-givers and their warm, smiling faces will be missed. I know I am joined by the rest of the parents in wishing all the LT staff luck in their future endeavors. God speed in finding new employment soon.

What a rip-off.... you pay the last month tuition fee for the year you don??t start and if we don??t join, you lose the tuition fee also.
I was aware that registration fee is non-refundable.. but here you need to pay last month tuition for the year which did not start even.. It does not matter how many days before you withdraw your application, once paid, it??s ALL GONE...

I thought it is mandatory for every school to have outdoor play time for toddlers and pre-k. These guys did not have that for any grade.

Beware of the tricks and word play.. don??t be naive with these guys...

As a former teacher at Language Tots, I am quite happy to see this review discussion board. I was unfortunate to experience first hand the ranting of the owner, anne. She is really a nut-job. The facility is a money making machine for her and she really doesn't care about the students or the teachers. When I taught there, we provided lemonade and water to the children during snack time. We were made to fill up the containers to make the lemonade using the sink in the bathroom. It was totally disgusting, to a point where I would bring a gallon of water with me in the morning to make the lemonade. My advice to anyone who is considering language tots for their child....RUN, DON"T WALK... get as far away from their as possible. BTW, I also had a child attending there while I was teaching. I stayed there from Dec. through June to fulfill my obligation to the children only.

Language Tots is a very good preschool for the price and academically. My son started in the 3's program, and it took a while for me to get past the interactions with the front desk and the lack of organization/understanding of the test scoring from the teachers. But I have grown to love this school and I have been lucky with the teachers I have been assigned.
Having a boy who has a short attention span and would rather be learning about rockets and being a super hero, this school has taught him there is time for learning, something that we struggled with at home. There is new staff running the front desk now.

My son is now in the pre-k program and while I am disappointed that there is only a 5 day option available, (we stretched our budget to keep him in this school with his friends) I have been thoroughly pleased with his progress. Many kudos to Mrs. LaVonda one of the Pre-K teachers she is a true educator and gives great feedback daily, she gives the good with the bad.

Ms. Ann is the owner but has stepped back and there is a new director who is great as well. I must say I didn't have a bad experience with Ms. Ann. She may not have always been warm and fuzzy and but did have a good knowledge of education.

I don't know that I would recommend this for the age 2 children. I think that the environment is pretty rigid for age 2, but 3 and above is definitely worth it!

This is really not a school but a money making machine. The director or whoever is really very rude and a racist. She does not talk with respect.

We put our kid with hesitation and coughed up 2 month tuition fee upfront. Our kid went there just 2 weeks and we had a situation where we had to take our kid out of the school for few weeks and she made us pay the fee for the month we were gone. But unfortunately our plan to travel got cancelled and when we went back to drop our kid to school, this lady said our kid was out of school and she had admitted another kid from the waiting list. well the worst part is we paid for 3 months of fees for 3 days of classes and the school made money from 2 kids.

This is really not acceptable. Please do not send your kids to this school.

I signed my daughter up at this awful school because of their lower rates and because it looked good for the money. I am sure many other parents have done the same.
As soon as I met Anne, I knew there was something very wrong with it. She is the coldest, nastiest, rudest person I have ever encountered in my life. The rest of the staff is also rude, just not as much as she is.
My daughter got kicked out of that terrible environment because I sent a friend of mine (a children's therapist) to observe the classroom. Anne soon found a stupid excuse to kick my daughter out.
What kind of school is this where the parents can't go into the classroom? Where the parents aren't welcome? Can you imagine what they do in there with our babies where we can't see? What are they hiding?
Whereas I understand how expensive schools can be, saving money on this one might cost you more on the long run. Besides, can you really put price on your piece of mind?

My daughter has been in the Cary 2's program since August (2009). My husband and I have been very pleased with the school. The teachers are very caring and good with the children. It is clear our daughter has learned a lot since starting the school. She is taught French on Tuesday and Spanish on Thursday. She comes home singing songs in French and Spanish - it's amazing how good her pronunciation is. The school follows a program that is internationally recognized. They use Smart Boards, which have been proven to help children learn quicker/better. The teachers and director pay close attention to how the children are taught and how the children are learning. The director, Anne, is 'in the know' here locally and globally on how children learn - what works and what does not. When you sit in on parent - child - director meetings it is clear that she is serious about what she does and she's been doing it for a long time. She's passionate about teaching children and wants what's best for them. She is not 'lovey dovey', but I'm not looking for someone who is. I provide that at home. She is there to ensure the children learning in an environment that is safe, fun and educational. I will say that if you are looking for a preschool that is more fun and games, then this is not the school for you. Education and learning is the focus here. In the 3's program they start yoga and additional programs to enhance learning. I look forward to my daughter's exposure to the 3's and Pre-K programs.

I like many of the other parents commenting on Language Tots was initially comfortable with Language Tots because my 4yr old daughter was happy there in the very beginning. However, after having been there for a while and after having experienced many negative interactions and conversations with Ann/Director about concerns that my family had I Can Not Recommend Language Tots to any other parent as a good nurturing and learning environment. I do recall a few of the incidents that I have read about on this site regarding the children and Ann's horrible disposition. I would not ever recommend Language Tots to any other parents!

Language Tots is tough to review. My daughter went here last year and we were both so happy with her teachers. She really enjoyed her time. However, she did have 3 primary teachers during the year and 2 assistant teachers. That is alot of turnover for a 3 year old. But, she did LOVE going and I was disappointed that they did not offer a 3 day program for 4 year olds. So, for the children, I would give it a positive review. However, like many of the reviews state, the administration is just funny. They are just awkward to talk to and give the feeling that you are wasting their time. If they would just improve their interactions with the parents, it would make a huge difference. I almost didn't send my daughter because of that. I am glad I did as she doesn't interact with them much. However, because my child was happy at this school, I would recommend it.

I would have to agree with many of the comments about this school. At first, I thought that it was just me! The director was very rude and I was dissatisfied that she did not know more about my son and his progress in her school. I really feel like that I teach him more at home than what he learned in the school. I wasted my money for the short time that he was there and we will not be returning. Unbelievable how rude the director is and she was actually not very honest about a situation concerning my son's progress in school.

Do not send your chidren to this dreadful place. The owner/director is such a beast of a woman and is not in the business for the kids but to fatten her wallet. She is hateful to her staff, talks negatively about parents constantly to anyone that will listen and is down right mean to the children when she comes in contact with them. Oh, and she rarely comes in contact with them because she makes it very clear to all teachers that unless the building is burning down or a child is dying do not talk to her in the mornings as she is too busy for any nonsense. At our graduation practice (for Pre-K children) last year she stooped so low that she yelled at the children for singing a song they learned "the wrong way", simply because they sang in a higher key than what she preferred. It really hurt a lot of the childrens feelings and was the most unprofessional, rude and mean thing a DIRECTOR/OWNER of a preschool should ever do.

Keep your kids as far as possible from these phonies and find somewhere that really wants to teach children and truly cares about them, and just dosent see them as dollar signs!

I have never dealt with such a rude be-och in my life. The office manager, Lisa is a miserable miserable human being. She doesn't have the slightest clue how to run a preschool. The Director, Anne isn't much better. I wouldn't recommend this school to my worst enemy. If they will accept our tuition, at the very least FAKE the courtesy.

I'm very disappointed with the director and receptionist. I find them to be extremely inconsiderate and unfair after all the business I have given them and its very unfortunate for them to lose my business. The lady at the front desk since day one has been nothing but RUDE. She has behaved with me my friends who brought their children to this school as if we were uneducated and didn't understand things. I found her to be discriminating against us because we were from Southeast Asia. She has no customer service skills and come to think of it neither does the director.

I came to this school because the education was good. I saw it with my older child, but with the second one I didn't see any such progress. My older son, being in this school a little over 6 months was able to read and write short sentences. I didn't see that kind of education for my second one. So their standard has gone down. The high tech class didn't help my child learn to write or be able to read short sentences. It has defeated the purpose of my sending him to school this year. I could have spend that money elsewhere.

My 4 year old son has attended Language Tots since the beginning of the year. He settled down quickly and is very happy. The environment is caring and sensitive to the children's individual needs. The well rounded academic program includes both Spanish and French, as well as a phonics program from the UK called Jolly Phonics. His classroom is equipped with a Smartboard which the teachers use for interactive learning. My son absolutely loves working on the Smartboard touch screen. The Jolly Phonics program includes songs which teach the letter sounds. My son loves them and sings them all the time. Within weeks, my son has learned letter sounds and is able to sound out basic site words. We are amazed by how much he has learned and how confident he has become. We feel absolutely confident that he will be more than ready for Kindergarten next year!

The owner, Anne, is completely insincere and has no compassion. My nephew was enrolled in the school until his doctors informed his parents that he had autism. The parents decided to put him in another school that catered to autism and wanted to get their deposit of $600 back from Language Tots. Anne disregarded what the doctors said and told the parents that he didn't have autism and she would not give them their money back.
Imagine having your kids be subjected to such lack of compassion.

My nephew has autism and before the parents learned about this, they had enrolled him into Language Tots and paid the deposit. Once they learned that he had autism they asked Anne, the owner, for their deposit back since they would have to send their son to a special school and she totally refused and proceeded to tell them that the doctors were wrong and he isn't suffering from any visible signs of autism. If any of you know anyone whose kids have autism then you know that insurance companies don't cover most expenses and therefore her attitude surprised me even more. She had no idea what autism was and refused to discuss the $600 deposit that they were owed.

My son has loved Language Tots this year! He sings the Spanish songs he has learned all of the time and loves his teachers.

I have been a little disappointed with disorganized communications at times, but if you stay on top of that it is a small thing to deal with as long as your child is happy, healthly, learning, and having fun!

They are a nut-free facility too!
