I have never been more disappointed in my dogs' boarding experience. I was advised over the phone that my male dog needed antibiotics due to being in a fight on Wednesday. I picked them up today from Leesville Animal Hospital and was told that the caretaker lost control of my male dog and dropped the leash which allowed the two dogs to come into contact. This was an extremely unfortunate situation considering the fact that I specifically requested that my dogs be kept separate from other dogs. I voiced my concerns about being charged for the antibiotics since 1. I was not advised of a cost during the initial phone call from the vet on site 2. the pet handler responsible for my dogs was the one who lost control of him. The vet/owner on site felt as if I should still be responsible, which is fine. I paid the $36 this one time but the $500-$1000/yr I spend on my dogs' boarding and vet care will be moved else where. I feel uncomfortable with the idea of being charged for something that could have been avoided in the first place and the way that this situation was handled in general. I sincerely hope this does not happen to anyone else.

I've been taking my dogs to Leesville Animal Hospital since I moved to Raleigh in 1999. They have always provided excellent care and advice. I had to put my 16 year old dog to sleep last year and they could have not been more supportive and caring. We currently have two dogs who we take there and they always get the highest quality of care. I highly recommend LAH.

I have four pets that I have taken to leesville on occassion since it is convenient, after my last experience I wont be back again. The staff was very helpful but as I was leaving with an unexpected increase in my bill I questioned the vaccines that were being given because I go elsewhere half the time, after being explained my charges by the owner himself, I witnessed a representitive in the parking lot giving that same doctor I spoke with before leaving (Dr. Pearce) and he was taking in a massive amount of alcohol into the building, now where it went from there can only be my assumptions. After witnessing that and price checking other Animal Hospitals in the area I knew I was being overcharged and could have saved atleast another 50$ if not more going elsewhere but the fact that I saw for myself where the extra money was going ( to the owner's personal habits) It discouraged me from going back.

Our dog is almost fifteen years old. She has been going to Leesville her entire life. She loves going there for kennel stays or grooming. Over the years I'm sure we've used all of their many services - even hydro-therapy after two knee surgeries.
The staff has always been lovely, the docs have always been informing and caring.
I have recommended Lessville Animal Hospital repeatedly and will continue to do so.

We have a mini schnauzer and have been in Raleigh almost 5 years. During this time we have been to at least 4 vets in North Raleigh. What we like most about Leesville Animal Hospital is that they never push unnecessary tests and services. The care is excellent and we use their boarding and grooming services too. We are extremely happy we found them and highly recommend them to our friends!

I have a Boxer Mix, who has been in the Leesville animal hospital repeatedly for the same issues. The doctor left sutures inside of my animal, and now I am having to pay a different vet to fix the original problem. Harold Peirce, the owner of this clinic, is a very rude man, and does not care to make right errors that his staff has created. If you like fixing the same problem multiple times and being charged for their mistakes, then this place is right for you. If you want professional treatment for your animal from people who care, PLEASE go somewhere else.

Just in case you have a hard time believing me, here is an exact copy of the email Harold sent me after we discussed what I consider malpractice in his clinic; the man didn't even bother to address me by name or sign his own. He is clearly not a professional; this is exactly how YOU will be treated @ LAH:

here is a copy of surgery report - 2/0 pds is an absorbable suture

Procedure/Comments: large draining wound excised over elbow. O auth removal of
growth/draining wound. IV cath 3.4 ket/3.4 midazolam IV. 3 cc ampicillin SQ. removed via
radiocautery. closed multiple layer 2-0 PDS, Skin 2-0 Braunamid SI. bandage applied.

I have 5 dogs that have been going to LAH for the last 10 years. The doctor they see is great. She is very knowledgeable and compassionate. She knows my dogs' histories and always answers any questions I have. I would recommend LAH to anyone.

I wish I would have checked this site before taking my pet to LAH. As reported by many users here they have frivolous charges. The value here is well below what I would accept. I will never bring my pet here again. Lesson learned.

RUN FROM THIS PLACE. Leesville Animal Hospital is fine if you don't need a compitent vet. We took our new puppy to them. He had cacedia...they treated him for 2 months using the same medicine over and over. Then for fun decided to change his diet and give antibiotics. We still had a sick puppy. Our breeder sends us a 2 day dose of a different medicine...and our puppy was cured. I woul not take any animal that you love to this vet. You will spend hundreds I'df dollars and still have a sick pet. They over charge and under perform.

I came to Leesville many years ago after another vet suggested I make my cat an "outside cat". I can't recommend them enough. They've been absolutely wonderful to Sasha and treat her as they would their own pets (giving her brushing and treats while she's boarding). The vets always take the time to explain anything (illness, medication, tests needed) and call at home to check up on her. I'm very happy with LAH and, more importantly, so is Sasha.

LAH is THE BEST.
They were recommended to me by my ex boyfriend who took his dog to LAH. He was the kind that would only expect the best out of any business especially if it concerned his pets.

I've been taking my 2 kitties to them since then and had problems with one of my kittes recently loosing weight and drooling. After Dr. Pearce did a biopsy we found out she has oral fibrocarcinoma.

Dr. Pearce and his Staff have been SO wonderful during this tough time. Dr. Pearce gave me some options which I've decided to have him do some surgery to try to remove as much as he can to prolong her life some more. I don't have kids so my kitties are my babies...I love them more than words can ever express and I wouldn't let anyone else touch them other than LAH.

If you love your pets as much as I do, I can't recommend LAH enough. The whole Staff is like Family, they have so much compassion for what they do and do an excellent job taking care of the Furry Babies. Thank you LAH for ALL that you all do!!!

I first brought Jack for the doggie day camp and ended up changing to Leesville for Vet services also. I have been very satisfied and consider the staff part of our family. Jack loves you guys and loves going to camp. I am also very satisfied with Dr. Neligon and her care. I changed from another vet that I had been going to for appr. 20 yrs. I do not regret the change at all and will continue to use Leesville. It's Jack's home away from home.

We have been going to LAH since Dr. Pearce opened the practice in 1988. We have had 5 dogs over this period of time and they have all been extremely well cared for by the doctors and the staff. Both Dr. Pearce and Dr. Neligon are excellent. When one of my labs tore the ligament in his knee Dr. Pearce spent almost 30 minutes talking with me and explaining the various surgical options. Our other lab has had serious liver problems and Dr. Neligon has spent many, many hours caring for Abby, researching treatment options, and checking in with us to see how she is doing, and I am glad to say that she has completely recovered. Years ago when we had to put down one of our dogs, Dr. Pearce came out to the car so that I did not have to move my dog. My dogs love going to the clinic because they are teated so well, and I have always received the most professional, curteous and compassionate care from LAH. I plan to be a client as long as I have pets.

We have been going to LAH for 11 years and 2 dogs later I absolutely love them. We have a lot of issues with our current dog who is a rescue and they have hung in there with us every step of the way and as a result our dog is healthy and happy and still a little crazy.

After bad experiences at other vets, LAH was my 4th attempt to finding excellent care for my dog. My dog is very shy and it takes time for her to warm up to people. LAH has always made time for my dog on short notice. Dr Neligon is absolutely wonderful whom we always to see. Only if Dr N is unavailable on short notice do we see another doctor. But I have discovered that she does check in on her "patient." I've been to more expensive vets, I'm been to less expensive. I prefer LAH for their compassion and understanding towards not only my dog, but to me when I call all upset. We walk in, they know my dogs name. We have always received excellent care, but then I'm very proactive in letting the know my expectations, as well as listening and learning from them. I had one bad experience with one doctor who is no longer there. I refused to see her from that point on. Problem solved.

I'm surprised to read any poor reviews about Leesville Animal Hospital. I recently moved to NC and went to this vet clinic on the recommendation of a colleague. Here is my experience:

My older dog had been failing for awhile and I had been taking him to a vet in Michigan. He went downhill fast after the move to Raleigh. I knew that it was time to have him put to sleep. I've never had to do this before, so I wasn't sure how to go about it. I made the call to Leesville and the lady on the phone was super helpful - very professional and caring. She explained the options (cremation, etc.) and scheduled the appointment.

I met with the Doctor, who explained what would happen and assured me that I wasn't making a selfish decision. The receptionist had me complete the form and pay in the exam room, so I didn't have to stand up front with other people coming in and out. They staff gave me as much time as I needed with my beloved friend and even made a paw print for me, which I will always cherish.

It was difficult to say goodbye but everyone at the hospital made this unpleasant experience a little more bearable. I couldn't have asked for me or my dog to have been treated better on this sad day. I will definitely be bringing future pets there and recommending them to others.

Sad Ending For a Sweet Dog
After taking our dog of 13 years to Leesville Animal Hospital for most of her life, I regret ever putting her in their care. On September 20th I picked up my yellow lab, Maggie, after a weekend of boarding. When my husband took her in on the previous Friday she walked in with her tail wagging. When I picked her up on Monday she could barely stand up and as it turned out, never stood up again. We do not blame them for her decline and had in fact signed a waiver requesting that no measures be taken to diagnose or treat her. She had been showing signs of aging decline. What I object to is the lack of communication and or compassion. No one warned me that her condition had deteriorated so I was stunned when she came out. She was dazed, could not stand, and her head was just fur on bone with her eyes sunken and skull protruding. The assistant lifted her into the back of the suv for me. I commented to her that I would know in Maggies eyes when it was time to put her down and that sadly that time had come. She never said " I'm so sorry". She said nothing. Just walked back in to the building. We were 2 hours away at the beach and had left 2 cell phone numbers. Did it ever occur to anyone that they could notify us of her conditon and give us an opportunity to come back and see our loyal friend of 13 years and then put her out of her discomfort? Possibly the worst thing of all is that I sent an e-mail letter to Leesville Animal Hospital to express my disappointment in how things were handled and never received a reply. I expected to at least hear that they were sorry for how things ended with them.We did after all spend quite a bit of money there over the past several years. Their lack of response prompted this review. I was trying to give them the benefit of the doubt. We all make mistakes. Just to summarize. Things did end well for Maggie. We carried her home to her favorite spot on our screened in porch and spent the rest of the day there with her. She couldn't even raise her head by then. We called Dr. Anne Jones with "Homeward Bound" mobile vet services. She very compassionately came over that very afternoon and allowed us to say our gentle goodbyes to our beloved Maggie right there on that porch overlooking the woods. She then gave her a peaceful exit from this world and allowed us to wrap her in her blanket and carry her to her van. If we ever have another dog, I think you can guess what vet we will choose. Cheryl M

Dear "GREAT" and "COMPASSIONATE STAFF"

I too had a good experience for many years at this place. That is exactly my point. After a long ,good relationship there can only be one explanation for how things ended with them. Either they were not aware that she had deteriorated ( which breaks my heart to think that she may have suffered all weekend unattended) or they knew of her condition and did not communicate that fact to us. Either way was unacceptable. I stated previously that we did not blame them for her death, But when I communicated to them my disappoinment in how it was handled I received no reply. That is not characteristic of a compassionate or even courteous practice.

Re: Sad ending for a sweet dog

Having read the above review ,Gina ( from the Leesville Animal Hospital) was gracious enough to contact me today regarding how the situation with Maggie was handled.
She apologized for not responding earlier but said that they did not get the e-mail I had sent. I take them at their word on that. Gina was very sweet in doing some investigating with the staff who cared for Maggie that weekend. She assured me that other than some stiffness with ambulation she did not suffer unattended during her stay with them. Again, I take them at their word on that and I thank them very much for both contacting me and giving that reassurance.
cheryl m

I don't know who has responded to my APOLOGY and THANK YOU but I clearly ended on a good note with Gina on the phone yesterday. Now someone has chosen a defensive, accusatory and immature stance in response. It was a situation that I thought had been clarified and resolved.I stated TWICE that we did not blame them for her demise and that we had signed a waiver of measures to prolong her life. To me the issue was a breakdown of communication which Gina quickly and maturely rectified. But now that the subject has been brought up about us "tieing their hands for treatment" (See above in Mandra W's response). I will now say that we were made to feel guilty for that decision when we took her in to be boarded. There is a difference between prolinging life and comfort measures. Sadly this responder reopened the wound that had been healed by Gina. I still thank you very much Gina, for taking time out of your busy day to soothe the heart and mind of a greiving pet owner.

Response from this business:

Cheryl, Since speaking with our front desk staff person,Gina, you know everything possible was done to make Maggie comfortable while boarding with us & we are glad you are now happy with our hosp. However the comments you made about our hospital were incorrect and hurtful, both to the staff & our business. Unfortunately with this particular blog, the business owner is not permitted the same number of characters to respond to your comments. Having said that, we are saddened you would continue to keep your negataive comments on this blog, when you clearly state on your updated version you are now happy with the hospital. We can only hope people will read to the bottom of your comments to find the good words
.

?then this is the place for you! Since I??ve been bringing my cats to this hospital, I??ve been extremely impressed. I??ve found the staff to be friendly, caring, knowledgeable and overall helpful. One of my girls tends to be a little feisty (to put it nicely) during check-ups but the Leesville staff is able to handle her with ease. I??ll never forget that on the day I was dropping my ??Princess? off for surgery, I was told to feel free to call as often as I wanted to check on her because the front desk staff could see I was clearly worried. I was called immediately after her surgery to let me know that my little girl was okay! The day after her spay, the receptionist called to check on Princess and asked that I call back to give an update on how she was doing at home. This type of personal attention and caring is unmatched. Plus, they have managed to squeeze me in a couple of times for urgent, last minute appointments. Again, that it an indicator that they truly care! I really feel that both my cats are in good hands at Leesville.

I just left Leesville Animal Hospital for the first time and had a great experience. The front staff was extremely friendly and helpful and everyone treated my puppy like their own. The vet tech who introduced me to all my puppy would need was extremely knowledgeable and I can say nothing but fabulous things about the vet who took the time to explain everything to me. From beginning to end, this was the best place I could have began my puppy's lifelong experience with a hospital. Now I just hope she does well in the training program they have!

I??ve been a client of Leesville Animal Hospital since 1998. It was our first stop once we picked up our puppy from the breeder. Thankfully, our dog has been somewhat healthy and we do bring her in for regular checks and immunizations. As a big part of our family, we don??t take her care lightly and wouldn??t trust it with any other vet. She has required surgery for two of her knees. After both procedures, she has received wonderful physical therapy and has recovered beautifully. She??s back to chasing squirrels at 11 years old! The office staff has always been courteous and responsive. We vacation on a regular basis and she spends time boarding at the kennel and partakes in doggy day camp. How many dogs race to enter a vet??s office? Mine does!
We??ve made a great choice with Leesville Animal Hospital.

It is with a great deal of "shock" that I read some of the negative reviews of Leesville Animal Hospital. I also was happy to see all the positive reviews. I do feel a need to add my comments on a most positive note.
I have been using Leesville Animal Hospital for almost 10 years. They have provided both care and boarding services for both my dog and cat. The first thing you notice is the attention you receive the minute you walk in the door. The reception area is friendly and free from foul ordors. At other vets that I used, my dog would balk, whine and pull away the minute I got close to the door. Not here....my dog walks in and looks for the friendly attention he always gets.
We have had some serious medical problems with my dog and their professional opinions and medical treatment has always been spot on. I have learned to respect the opinions of Dr. Pearce and his staff. Their conservative approach to what I would have considered serious problems has always resulted in a healthy and well taken care of pet. I appreciate the time I get to ask questions and they are always insistant that I understand all my options when treating a medical problem.
Because of this excellent experience, I began to send my dog to "playschool". It is a GREAT feeling leaving your dog there because he WANTS TO BE THERE. That says volumes about the care he gets and the fun he has. On a one to ten rating.....Leesville Animal Hospial is a 10 +

Office Staff Co-ordinator We would like to thank this client for a kind and expansive review. Truly, it is clients like Harold and his pets that make our job so rewarding.

We have taken our dogs to Leesville Animal Hospital several times over the years, just because the location is convenient. But we haven't been thrilled with them. I always feel like the vet bill is being jacked up. For example, for every annual exam, they require that bloodwork be done on our otherwise healthy dogs. I have never had a vet require bloodwork during a check up. Having never been given a good explanation for "why," my only conclusion is that they are attempting to run up the bill.

Also, with a very small number of exceptions, we have never seen the same vet twice. Seems like a revolving door for vets there.

We have never boarded our dogs there, so I don't know anything about those services. But I wouldn't recommend this vet, if you have other choices.

Response from this business:

Office Staff Co-ordinator It is not the policy of Leesville Animal Hospital to "require" bloodwork for any pets receiving care. We do, however, recommend bloodwork for the health of the pets and attempt to educate the clients as to "why". It is unfortunate Laura came away from our office with this outlook. We would appreciate an opportunity to speak with her to see if we can correct this misunderstanding.
.

I moved close by this practice and decided to try it after reading the mixed reviews -- I figured I would see for myself and couldn't say no to the convenient location. Pricing for veterinary care is steeper than I am used to from our old vet (who was wonderful). I've boarded my lab mix there twice and I have decided I won't be going back, either for veterinary or boarding care. The first time she boarded there I had to be out of town for 10 days. Their website says you can provide personal belongings so I sent along one of my (clean but worn to sleep in) t-shirts and her favorite toy. The shirt was folded and put into a plastic bag with the toy on top. When I returned from my trip, they handed back her stuff in the same bag and in the exact same folded/stacked position. They never even gave them to her while I was gone. Just this past weekend, I was out of town only for Saturday night. However I had to leave so early on Saturday that she had to be dropped off Friday after work. When I picked her up during the 5 to 6 p.m. pick up window on Sunday, she was incredibly wound up. We got home and she RUSHED to her water bowl and drank it dry within a couple of minutes. I let her outside right away and she had to relieve herself (#1 and #2) immediately. I don't think she had been let out, watered, or fed all day! I will just have to suck it up and deal with a less convenient location; I will be looking elsewhere.

Response from this business:

Office Staff Co-ordinator Let me begin by saying we apologize for Margaret's pet not receiving her personal items, and we have taken this up with our kennel staff to improve this procedure. However, pets do respond to being away from their owners in many ways. Some do not eat or drink as they would if they were in their own home. Some do not stay on a urinary/defecation routine as they would in their own home, and some eat, drink and perform daily functions as they would anywhere. It cannot be determined which kind of pet you have until you leave them somewhere other than your home. All of our kenneled pets receive twice daily food, as well as a continuous check of a full water bowl throughout the day. All pets in our runs have the ability to urinate and defecate without fear of the pet walking in or lying in their feces, as all of our run floors are elevated and the specimens fall through the flooring system. In addition, a service is provided for extra walks for each pet staying with us should the owner desire this service. As always, we appreciate comments made directly to the hospital by any of our clients so that we may have an opportunity to correct any issues or update any of our programs.
.

My dog and two cats have been going to Leesville Animal Hospital for about three and a half years now, and we have had no complaints. In fact, our Boston terrier just loves going to daycamp on a weekly basis! We do like the emergency doctor on call, but there is a recording to direct us to a local emergency clinic if no response (sometimes technology fails!)--if that eases peoples anxiety from the last review (my condolences with you). I'm sad to see some of the reviews as they have never been the case with me. We will continue to leave Leesville's doctors with the care of our pets for a lifetime.

I have mixed feelings. The turnover of vet doctors is high over the years. My dog was sick one weekend and not one response to the many phone calls I made even when I knew there was someone there. That next Monday at the front desk she joked and said "well if Dr. So-in-so was on no wonder there wasn't a call back". Then I sadly told her my dog died. I also kenneled a cat there once and she came home with feces all over her - I was terribly upset! I never went back there again. I pulled out my remaining two cats and dogs and are quiet happy with our NEW VET. Over the years I have heard similar stories. But YOU have to live with the consequences if you take your pet there.

Response from this business:

Office Staff Co-ordinator Technology can be a wonderful thing, and then sometimes it completely fails to perform. The pager system does occasionally malfunction and the doctors do not receive their pages. We are absolutely concerned about the care of all our pets and realize sometimes technology fails us, therefore we have always had as part of our message system, a message stating "if a doctor does not call you within 15 minutes, please call the After-hours veterinary hospital" we then give the telephone number for this service. With reference to the veterinarians on staff, we have very high medical standards and the long-term doctors are proof of that policy. In addition, the area is very transient; doctors move in and out of town, they open their own practices or some decide to stay home after starting a family.
.

Leesville Animal Hospital has taken wonderful care of our two dogs for over 15 years and we love the doctors, staff and clinic! When treatment is needed they explore all the options and communicate to us what those options are in a loving and caring manner. They truly love and connect with the animals!

I had chosen to take my two Jack Russells to Leesville out of the recommendations of 2 neighbors & have been VERY PLEASED with the decision. The doctors and staff are compassionate & knowledgeable. I particularly appreciate the after hours doctor on-call...which most hospitals do not have...it sure came in handy when "Jack" ate a whole bag of chocolate!!! Thank you!!

We strive to provide quality medical/surgical care and a spacious clean kennel facility. As is always ,there is another important side to the stories. Please take the time to read. PRICEY AND ONLY ONE GOOD VET:pet did have an injured foot we had to re-splint due to the owner not complying with our instructions to keep the splint clean and dry. OWNER WAS NOT CHARGED A RECHECK OR WOUND TREATMENT FEE-JUST RE-SPLINTING DUE TO POOR COMPLIANCE:This patient still comes to us!!DO NOT EVER GO TO LEESVILLE; all pets are inspected many times daily and prior to discharge-no complaint was given by the owner at discharge-only after pet went home. Even though the pet was clean at discharge,we offered a free bath. UNfortunately, some pets will get loose stool due to stress/food change. These are treated at no charge when we see this while they are boarding. The price of the bath was not removed, because Dottie had received a complimentary bath-that means there was NO CHARGE. As for the salivary cyst-the quote was given for an outside surgery referral specialist-not one of our Dr's due to the complexity. Since when are we expected to pay for the medical condition that was NO FAULT OF OURS?? The best care was recommended... the patient still comes to us--DO NOT SEEM TO CARE--please read carefully--This pet had not been seen by us for 3 YEARS and was well-past due for health care. We promptly examined the pet since it was clearly uncomfortable, discussed diagnostic test and treatment cost- all of which was agreed to by the owner. After finishing, the owner informed us they were unable to pay even though the final cost was $100 less than the estimate. There is still an outstanding balance -THE BILL HAS NEVER BEEN PAID !!! Hopefully "Kate" is doing well. We were very concerned with her condition and wish the pet well. Our goal is to provide quality care at competitive prices-which we do. PLEASE NOTE THERE ARE NO COMPLAINTS CONCERNING QUALITY OF MEDICAL CARE.WE are required to inform you of all possible outcomes of illness. This is not to produce guilt-simply to be your pets advocate. We are concerned when our clients are unhappy or do not present the truth in it's entirety. Our overall satisfactions rate (based on complaints vs overall client visits) is 99.99%. We realize there may be occasional problems, but urge our clients to speak with us as their pets health care is our primary interest. Thank you,Dr Pearce

What a wonderful veterinarian and fabulous staff at Leesville Animal Hospital! I've been going to this office for over 10 years and have NEVER found them to be anything but the utmost professional and caring staff. They have helped me through the years to understand everything from the reasons for the behavior of my pet, to the diseases he has encountered. Also, I have checked their prices on several occasions and have never found another hospital to be lower. We are fortunate to have such a professional team as this in Raleigh, NC. I have recommended this hospital to all of my friends and they, too have had nothing but great things to say about Leesville Animal Hospital

This is the worst vet I have ever been to and will NEVER take my bulldog back. They act as though they care but when we boarded our dog for a weekend, her backside was covered with feces and even had feces hanging out of her bottom upon pickup. When asked if she had gotten sick, the tech replied, "why do you ask?" On top of the ignorance, we had dropped our dog off on Friday afternoon and picked her up Sunday and were charged for 3 days of boarding instead of 2 nights. Another way to overcharge the clientele. We were livid. When we got home our poor dog was pooping blood and the vet on call just made sure we got a complimentary bath...are you kidding me?! A few days later we had to return for an inflamed salivary gland and asked to have the price of the bath taken off the bill for the salivary gland and they said there was no way they can do that because it was a complimentary thing. Again, are you kidding me?! The vet recommended surgery for the salivary gland and stated it would cost $1300 after the over $100 we paid today and over $1000 we've spent over the past 3 months. DO NOT SEND YOUR PET HERE AND DON'T LEAVE THEM OVERNIGHT! They will not get the love and appreciation they deserve and you will come to see they are only all about money and not care for the pet.

On top of the ignorance, we had dropped our dog off on Friday afternoon and picked her up Sunday and were charged for 3 days of boarding instead of 2 nights.

I do not like this animal hospital. The Dr was awful as well as the office staff and the vet techs. My dogs were kenneled here and when I picked them up, they were covered in feces and urine. I had even paid for baths. Someone sprayed them with perfume and stuck a bandanna on them, but I could see feces matted in the hair. The doctor treated us like we were awful owners because we couldn't afford the thousands of dollars in treatments. Do not take your animals here!

I will agree with the others. My dog was very sick barely with us and could not walk. We have been going there for 7 years and spent a lot of money with 6 pets. They were more interested in money instead of saving her life. They gave a quick estimate but the bill was much larger and rushed us to check out before they would give our dog back.they refused to work with us on the balance or bill us. they left the dog in a room with no attention until we could bring back funds hours later.very cold and money driven. The owner said it was a business and bus. need to get get paid. This it not k-mart. We trust our family members lives with them and you think they become doctors and have a practice to save lives first and worry about money second or help where they can in the best interest of the animal.I would not recommend them.

We've been going here with our two dogs for 2 1/2 years. From '06-'07 we liked the vets especially the vet who had a baby. I can't remember her name. We never see her anymore. Now it's the same vet all the time and she is kind of "ok". They definitely overcharge and charge for every little thing you can imagine. They don't seem to care about our particular family's income status which is moderate to modest. We love our animals but can not afford to pay for heroic services. They like to play guilt trips and we are starting to see it's simply about them making more money. We have decided to go elsewhere.

I have to agree with the other reviewer that Leesville overcharges or nickels and dimes you. We've taken 3 dogs there now, over the course of 4 years, and have had mixed satisfaction. For the routine stuff, they're fine, and Dr. Neligon is awesome. But the other vets aren't as personable, and for non-routine care it's fee after fee. For instance, our dog broke her toe a few months ago. I expected the x-rays and initial consult to be a few hundred dollars (which they were), but then the subsequent re-wraps of her splint were $85 each! We just stopped going and let her toe heal on its own. We also had a bad experience when we had to put our older dog to sleep. We didn't get Dr. Neligon, and the woman who did it stuck our poor dog upwards of 7 times, just trying to get the lethal dose of sedative in him. He was yelping, there was blood spurting... it was an AWFUL way for our best friend to go "quietly."

Time after time they have price gouged me. Pearce seems to always give you the worse case so you'll do and buy what ever he tells you. Just found out he's the owner too. They tell you one price and charge another. Hvae never gotten out of there under $150. I have spent $2000 in a year there. Was new to the area so didn't know where to go. WAY over priced! Find someone else I am.

We've been taking our dogs to Leesville Animal Hospital for about 4 years. The vets we have dealt with are outstanding. I am not giving LAH 5 stars only because the facilities are pretty average, and it can be very hectic dropping off and picking up at peak hours - something that might be improved with better organization. Also, extending the hours past 5:30 p.m. would make it easier for working folks. That said, we often drop one or both dogs off in the morning and have them cared for by the vet and then have them sent to the on-site groomer, who does a wonderful job. Can't beat that for convenience when you're a busy, working child and animal parent! We have also boarded one of our dogs at the facility, and although she can't speak for herself, she seemed to do just fine.
