I bought a used Peavey Sanpera II foot controller from the Guitar Center in Raleigh, NC and they sent it to me with a dead MIDI cable. The Sanpera II uses an 8-pin MIDI cable rather than a standard 5-pin and Guitar Center doesn't carry it, so I had to order a replacement online from Peavey. When I called the Raleigh store to ask for a partial refund for the cost of the cable, they refused. I don't know how they do business in Raleigh, but where I'm from if you sell damaged equipment to someone you make it up to them. I buy a lot of musical equipment but I will never buy from the Raleigh, NC Guitar Center ever again.

I have spent over $5000 at this Guitar Center, but I'm still treated as if I was at a Wall Mart.

I purchased 4 Bass Amps, (two of them over $1000), 3 basses, one US made and two over $500.

They use to cut wonderful deals on US fenders instruments and Ampeg amps. Not anymore...

When I told an employe recently that I used to get good deals at Guitar Centers, including my 2 GK, Fender amps and my SVT-4 an 810, he started laughing and told be that all these years I got deals because the stuff I purchased was damaged.

Nice clerck! I used to get personalised service at Guitar Center by always dealing with the same salesperson who was ALWAYS cutting me juicy deals. Since he's gone, I feel insulted every single time I set foot at Guitar Center.

Now that Guitar Center, Music123, Musicians Friends and Harmony Central are all one, yes, it's all one company now in case you have not notice, the music market sucks. There were laws against such monopoly in the past... They now fix the prices all over the country, they bully manufacturers and they laugh at you if you're frustrated about it.

We should be patriot and ban Guitar Center, Music123 and Musicians Friends all together.

They advertise on this web site. Oops. If my post is removed, I will send it somewhere else.
