Wow! I took my daughter to JJ's this morning after being recommended to me by a friend of mine and I was extremely impressed by the staff as to how caring they all were to my little Rose. I will certainly being going back in the future and will recommend JJ's to all my friends as well.
Long wait of over 30 minutes even though we had an appointment and uneven bangs and a sloppy cut. Overpriced and underperforming.
My 2-year-old son is very shy and takes a long time to warm up to new people and places, but he loves getting his hair cut at J J's Kids Cuts because of the fun slide and toys in the waiting area. He likes that he can watch a video of his choosing while the stylist cuts his hair. I usually have to allow for a few extra minutes of playtime after his haircut because he doesn't want to leave right away. All of the stylists who have cut his hair have been patient and kind. When he was younger and little less compliant, the stylists had bubbles on hand to keep him distracted and happy. The price is definitely higher than one would pay at a place that doesn't have all the bells and whistles, but those are what make for a good haircut experience for my son.
This is a really cool place for kids. they have all sorts of fun activities and play equipment inside. They let you watch the video of your choice while you getting your hair cut. It is great for the child who is hesitant to get a haircut. The stylists are comfortable dealing with a worried child. The price is higher than average but in many cases could be well worth the money depending on your child. They are located conveniently and the parking is easy too.
The first time I went here was when we were foster caring for a young child. She was scared to death to get her hair trim.
Turn out when we were done she didn't want to leave. There chairs are in the shape of animals, they have videos, electronic games and a great play area. They take walk ins if possible. Sometimes you can find coupons for them. They have two locations, North Raleigh and Cary.
PROS: Highly skilled stylists
CONS: High traffic area
I took my son to the newly re-opened Cary JJ's and he had the best time. The stylists there are so great with the kids, very talented, and so sweet. My son won't get his hair cut at a regular salon, this is just perfect!!! If I were you I would take my child there and tell all your friends that don"t know about JJ's to go too. I drive all the way from Clayton once a month to get my son's hair cut. The ballons, the lollipops, the staff, the games, and the new and fresh looking store is defenitly worth going. It's too many reasons not too!!
Pros: Talented staff, great service at a great price, very clean store
These guys are running quite a racket. While the set up is great for kids - toys, tvs, etc - the "stylists/barbers" have next to no ability to cut hair. First, they do not listen when you tell them how you want it cut, and second, they are not that good at cutting it in whatever style it is they are trying to cut it in. It has been both uneven and inconsistent with the instructions on we wanted it cut. Put it this way, we've gotten better cuts for both of our kids (at a fraction of the price) at the usual "chain" places.
Pros: Fun place for kids to play
Cons: Below average haircuts, especially for the $.
I recently learned that the Cary location was back open and I could not have been more excited. I took my daughter and we loved it.
Pros: Store is clean with a friendly staff.
I have two little ones and both always enjoy going to JJ's in the North Raleigh location and at times I can't get them to leave. The staff always makes my kids and I feel very welcomed and go above and beyond to ensure I am please with their haircuts. I recently met the new owners as they have really have turned the North Ridge location around and it looks wonderful and inviting. I highly recommend you go as well.
Pros: We always feel welcomed by all of the staff.
I have been taking both of my children to JJs for two years. My son has a sensory disorder and he was petrified to have his hair cut. He went without a professional hair cut for two years because of that. He now gets his hair cut by Derek without much of a fuss. All of the staff at both locations are great but I owe my sanity to him. He is understanding of my son's fears but has a way of getting the job done. Thanks "Mr. Derek"!
We have had the hardest time trying to get my son's hair cut for the last 2 years-we have had several failed attempts at other salons until someone suggested I try J & J's. We have been back twice now and he loves going there to get his hair cut. The staff is very friendly to both the children and parents. it was truly a great find for us and our 3 year old.
I have been a customer of J.J.'s Kids Cuts since my son was born 7 years ago. They have always been an extremely friendly staff. They remember not only my face but name whenever I enter the store. Having grown up in a small town, this is something very special to me. My kids enjoy going to J.J.'s for a cut because they love not only watching the movies but also the spaceship, firetruck ect. chairs they can sit in to get their hair done. The staff try very hard to please and give you what you want in a haircut. Finally, the owner of the store is topnotch and works very hard to meet all your needs. I highly recommend J.J.'s Kids Cuts for your child(ren)'s haircuts.
