We went there with groupon for $30 to eat $60 and made reservation for Sunday. On coupon it is written that to mention about coupon during reservation which made us little curious. Sunday we went there around 6:30pm and friendly front

Staff make you feel like family. Last nite our waitress Benh really made the evening special. So Sweet and caring. A fun witty sparkle. Thanks

Huge mistake. The "Too much effort" sentiment works both ways. \r
We were greeted by a young lady who said without a smile "Do you have a table or will you be going to the bar?" We replied, with a smile, "Both". What a conundrum. \r

This is a great restuarant with very good food. The sauce is wonderful and even homeade. I've had everything from the Chicken Parm to the Osso Buco. Never had a bad meal! I always recommend this place to all of my friends.\r

I have been coming to this wonderful cafe for many years. (The chef had another Italian restaurant in another part of town several years ago which was also a favorite.) The mussels in a garlic cream sauce are the absolute best I've ever had and the portion is so large you can make it a meal. Paul's meatballs are fabulous and so hard to resist but try the other dishes too. Whenever he makes a fresh fish dish in the piccata style, it is always delicious and very fresh. The only thing I do not particularly care for is their spinach linguine which always seems a bit gummy to me. You can ask for dishes done to your particular preferences and get different side dishes ; they do always seem to want to please the customers. I skip the tiramisu and eat their marvelous cannolis!
Now that there is no smoking allowed here it makes it so much better for those of us who like to eat smoke-free!

Cafe Tiramisu is the best place to have Italian in the Triangle hands down.

Cafe Tiramisu is the best place to have Italian in the Triangle hands down.

Pros: Top Notch Service And Food

Cons: None

.

I frequent the bar @ Cafe Tiramisu about two nights a week. I sit at the same bar stool(like Cliff and Norm of Cheers). Tammie has my favorite wine sitting there before I even sit down and she introduces me to any new customers that are sitting at her bar. Tammie makes this feel like a family gathering and is very friendly to everyone there. If you are in North Raleigh this is the place to go. OH, and the food is great also.

Whenever we have guests or clients in town, we always take them to Cafe Tiramisu AND then when they come back to town, they ask to go there again! Whether you order a dish off of menu or have a special request, it is always handled with a smile. I consider the waitstaff and owners to be family and I enjoy every dining experience there!

I've eaten in a lot of places around the country and no place makes me feel at home like Tiramisu. The old Cheers saying "where everyone knows your name" is certainly true here. As soon as Jennifer meets you at the door you know that you are in good hands. Whatever you order is going to be prepared fantastically by Paolo and Nick and the wait staff always helps make it a memorable experience. I normally don't eat a the bar in a restaurant but when it is just my wife and I for dinner the bar is the only place to sit at this restaurant. Tammi goes out of her way to make you feel welcome and never forgets a face or a favorite drink. If you want a good value for your dining dollar and a pleasurable experience to go along with it this is the place to eat.

Tammi, the bartender, and I have been friends since childhood. I eat at many Raleigh establishments and can say that she is, without a doubt the best bartender in Raleigh. She is polite, exceptionally professional, and is quick with both her wit and service. She is a delight to be around in both a personal and professional manner. Your the best Tammi...keep up the FABULOUS work!!!

I'm a frequent diner at restaurants in the Raleigh area and Cafe Tiramisu is one of my favorites! I have two main reasons for going to Cafe Tiramisu - first it is some of the best Italian food I've ever had and secondly, Tami at the bar is one of the most delightful and welcoming bartenders I've ever known. When I first went there she made a point to introduce me to everyone and I immediately felt like family. We love Tami and will be continuing to go there because of her warm personality!

This place is amazing. It always has the very best food, service, atmosphere, patrons, etc.
The Bartenders are great....especially Tammi. She gives excellent service and mixes some of the best drinks I've had. She even makes it a fun place to hang out late night. Thanks to Tammi for keeping the mood light and inviting!

A former colleague who is now the president of a pharmaceutical company in Spain was in town on business overnight, so I decided to take him to Cafe Tiramisu for dinner as it is [was] one of my favorite restaurants. His incoming international flight was delayed so we got there a bit late in the evening--around 8:30 or so. As we finished dinner, we sat and talked and were the last ones in the restaurant, but there were still several people seated at the bar. No one ever asked us to leave or indicated that they needed us to leave [I wish they had]. The bartender turned the music up VERY loud and yelled "I hope the music's not bothering you!" then turned the lights in the restaurant down very low. I was so embarrassed for my guest, especially after I had spoken to him so highly of the restaurant. As we then left, the bartender yelled, "Hope we didn't run you off!" I couldn't believe it. I don't think I've ever been treated so rudely.

We had a reservation for 6 on a Wednesday night at 6:30. One of the ladies in our party had an emergency and was late arriving (7:10). They were not particularly busy so we waited until she arrived to order. Our waiter, Richard, was obviously angry about this. He was short and very rude the entire evening. The lady that arrived late had already looked at the menu online and knew what she wanted to order so we were able to order right away. Our food took well over 30 minutes to come out. Once it was delivered, Richard did not ask how it was or ask if we needed anything for the rest of the evening. He did, however, come by and refill our waters a few times.
Our dishes sat in front of us long after we finished, but since it was a "Ladies Night Out" we didn't mind chatting while we waited for dessert or the checks. We were never offered dessert and after about an hour of waiting, we finally asked the hostess if she could get our checks. We then waited another half-hour or so before they were picked up. After having to ask the hostess again to take our checks, Richard came out to wait on the table beside us. He proceeded to complain to this table about us being late for our reservation and now we were being impatient with him. We didn't walk out of there until 9:30!
I complained to the owner on the way out and he was very apologetic. Too little, too late though... I and the rest of my party will not return.
The only reason I'm giving this restaurant 2 stars instead of 1 is because I believe it had great potential. The atmosphere was great and most of the dishes sounded delicious. I ordered the linguini and it was okay... would've been much better with fresh-grated parmesan but Richard didn't offer and never came back so that I could ask for it. The owner was very nice and I am usually very supportive of small, family-owned establishments. There are just too many other great restaurants in the area to waste a night out here again.

The best Tiramisu I have ever tasted.

One another not the atmosphere in the place was unbelievable, I mean you really feel like you are in some part of Italy. The service is the upmost best.

If you want to impress that girlfriend of yours take her to Cafe Tiramisu, she will love it!

Pros: very nice decor, nice food
Con: How can a restaurant renowned and which supposedly takes pride for its special tiramisu desert, run out of this early on a Saturday evening? Well, that is exactly what happened to us. The waiter told us that they can't make an unlimited supply and to call ahead and reserve slices in the future! Have they ever heard about refrigeration? Tiramisu is not considered to be an expensive desert to make.

When was the last time you went to a nice steak house where they ran out of steak or even a Pizza Hut to be told they didn't have any more pizza? Cafe Tiramisu should have made more as soon as they realized they were running low or if that was not possible, beg, borrow or steal from the nearest Italian restaurant or supermarket. Absolutely bizarre and unacceptable. When we told them we came just for that and were not very local, they could have even offered to provide on our next visit but they were pretty clueless.

We went to Cafe Tiramisu on Friday night. We hadn't been there in over a year. The last time we had gone, we weren't too excited with the food so decided to give it a break after several years of going there. Well since our last visit, they had remodeled the interior and it's very classy looking. Our waiter, Dan was great. Very friendly and right on tiop of everything. He had some good recommendations. The lobster bisque was the bomb. I would have licked the bowl if I were at home it was that good. I had the sea bass special which was recommended and enjoyed every last bite of it. My husband had the veal satlimbocca and there wasn't a drop left on his plate. The freshly baked bread was so good we asked for another loaf. We will definitely be going back more frequently again.

Cons: They still allow smoking in the bar section. The restaurant is one big roon so you can still smell it no matter where you sit.

.

My friend and I found this restaurant to be lacking in service, atmosphere and food quality. Although my lobster bisque was creamy and the right temperature, there was not a hint of lobster flavor or aroma to be found. Our server was lukewarm and inattentive, disappearing for lengthy periods of time with no explanation. When our entrees finally arrived, the presentation was pleasing enough, the vegetables were overcooked and mushy. Perhaps most disappointing was the cloud of noxious cigarette smoke wafting down over our table, especially during the last half of the meal. My jacket and clothes are still hanging in the garage until I can get them laundered. The highlight of my meal was the amaretto mousse dessert - it was light and flavorful and pretty on the plate. Unless they enact a no-smoking policy I will not be coming back. It puzzles me how a restaurant rates a 98 sanitation grade while known carcinogens are floating liberally throughout the restaurant, but that factor apparently doesn't figure into the inspection. Having been to Italy, I will say that many Europeans are avid and unapologetic smokers, so perhaps that fact contributes to the restaurant's "authentic Italian" reputation?

I needed a quick meal for my family but I wanted something special. Cafe Tiamisu was great. The Chicken parmesan was delicious and enough for my young children to share. The seafood special was great. My husband thought it was a very special meal. The food was packed very well and everyone was so friendly and helpful. The restaurant is warm and the outdoor tables are great. I can't wait to eat in with my husband one night. Thanks for the great service

We went here about a week ago. We go out to eat often trying to only eat at places that come with high recommendations about the food and the chef. We heard great things about this restaurant, and all I have to say is WOW!!!!! It is amazing. The food is wonderful. But even more wonderful is the atmosphere and the service. We really enjoyed this experience and will make it one of our regular places to eat.

Food -- Osso Buco, Gamberi (a pasta and seafood dish), Tiramisu -- was good.

Of two "signature dishes" touted on the website, only one was available. Of the Mozzarella Souflee, which I tried to order, the waitress said, "They didn't make any." Seems pretty slack to me to neglect to make one of only two "signature dishes," one which uses standard ingredients.

I politely inquired about which dishes used fresh pasta. The waitress seemed completely flummoxed by the concept of "fresh pasta." She stumbled and stuttered and rambled -- I let it go.

Everything about the service was shabby, including the loosely assembled combination salt shaker / pepper mill from which I managed to dump a handful of whole peppercorns into my Osso Buco while attempting to salt it. I sorted it out and did not complain.

My friend and I -- two guys, not an intimate couple in any sense -- decided to share a dessert of Tiramisu. She plopped it down in the center of the table, gave us two forks, and instantly disappeared in that pixyish way she had. We persuaded another server to bring us a couple of dessert plates.

I think the after-dinner coffee was real bad, but it was difficult to judge it properly because it was only lukewarm. It was also served in a cheap, heavy, roadside diner style cup, the kind I only enjoy in roadside diners or restaurants with log cabin motifs. I sent it away when I was next able to attract our server's notice.

I have no plans to dine again at Tiramisu.

The food here is to die for. We have not yet had a dish, appetizer, or dessert that wasn't the top of the line. We're so glad we have discovered this place. Don't let the location fool you. There are regulars that have discovered this place and it seems they are keeping this well kept secret to themselves! ALL of their dishes have beautiful presentation. Try their coffee martini! Exceptional chicken entrees.....pear salad is unbelievable.....awesome staff. You will not regret trying this restaurant.

I spent much time in and around NYC and was very disappointed with the Italian food in the Triangle until I discovered Tiramisu. Their smaller (selective) menu offers plenty of variety while ensuring that the food is always fresh and creatively prepared. The ambiance combines an upscale feel with the comfort of home. The service is always professional and the Tiramisu is absolutely the best anywhere. Thank you to the DeMartino family for providing such a wonderful dining experience.

We were expecting yet another over-hyped Triangle restaurant, and were pleasantly surprised. The food was traditional northern Italian, well-cooked, fresh, and not heavy. The pear salad was wonderful, and the veal marsala, and chicken saltimbocca simple and absolutely delicious. The tiramisu and lime tart were worth saving room for. Service was good, friendly but not fawning. We'll be back.

Everything here is so good. The menu's not huge, but each item has something going for it.

Cafe Tiramisu makes the best mussels. They comes served in a light wine sauce and loaded with garlic. After polishing off the mussels, we just keep getting more bread to finish off the broth.

They serve a Primavera Salad (with dried cherries) as well as season salad specialties that are always creative and delicious.

I have a strange rule regarding restaurants - I never get chicken dishes. I make an exception at Cafe Tiramisu. All their entrees are good, but I find their chicken dishes to be exceptional.

They have outside seating. Not the most romantic of spots (right down from Ace Hardware), but just being outside on a warm night eating such delicious food with friends and family makes for a special event.

Coming from someone who frequents NYC (Little Italy) and Boston, I think this is the best italian restaurant between here and NYC. Excellent service, menu, and ambiance. If you don't like everything on the menu, you don't like true Italian food.

Cafe Tiramisu is an inviting, charismatic northern Italian restaurant with an edgy, uptown atmosphere. Their menu boasts mouth-watering entrees that are always cooked to perfection. Whether you go for the veal marsala, the osso buco, or a traditional pasta, the chefs DeMartino always serve the best dinner around. And if you're into desserts, you must try their famous, homemade Tiramisu. It's to die for.

Oh my gawd...this place ROCKS! It is by far THE best restaurant I've found in Raleigh. Terrific option for a romantic evening. There's even out door seating!

The staff is always pleasant, the wine selection is plentiful and varied and of course the food. The food is always good. But whatever you do, be sure to save room for desert...after all this place IS name after a great desert!

Enjoy!
