I had the privilege of meeting Mike Shea of Frame Gallery on Aug. 20,1994. A friend had told me that an artist by the name of Phillip Philbeck was scheduled to be at Frame Gallery that day. While unfamiliar with the name of the young "up and coming" artist and unfamiliar with Frame Gallery, I was in the process of decorating a new home. The idea sounded like a great opportunity, so off to Frame Gallery I went. I purchased Afternoon Clearing that day while Mr. Philbeck was there. Not only did he sign and date my print, he shared thoughts and ideas as Mike Shea created many beautiful matting and framing options. Thus began my relationship with Frame Gallery. For almost 15 years I have been a patron of Frame Gallery. Mike Shea and the Staff at Frame Gallery are undoubtedly--the best. Whether I purchase art or am framing a piece, there is no competition, I go to Frame Gallery. When I need an honest art and eye opinion, I check with Mike Shea. The genuine care and customer service by Mike and his staff speaks for itself. When I give my budgeted amount of what I have to work with, they pour out the same commitment to excellence in their work as if the sky were the limit. The exceptional quality of their work along with "the eye" for bringing out the best is completely visible in every finished product. I am valued as a customer and more important, when I am not "shopping" and just stop in to say "hi," I am valued as a friend. Ginger

I have been doing needlework projects (mainly cross stitch) for the past 30+ years and for the past 18 years, I have taken all my finished pieces to the Frame Gallery. I rely on Nicole and Connie to help me choose the best frame and mat to make my pieces look great. Each year I enter my newest pieces in the local Dixie Classic Fair and have always gone home with several 1st place ribbons and even a few Judge's Choice awards - in part because the finished framing made my stitching look incredible! I have yet to find another shop that gives the time and attention to detail that Mike and the "girls" at the Frame Gallery do. Their prices are reasonable and pieces are ready when promised. After putting in so much time and effort in stitching a piece, I do not want to hand it over to just anyone - I rely on the Frame Gallery for all my work!

Frame Gallery offers the widest variety of framing styles in Winston-Salem, and does good work, but is far too expensive. We got my first set of diplomas framed at Michael's for about $1000, but Michael's stopped carrying that style frame. So to make my second set match, we had to buy the frames from Frame Gallery, and it cost about $1500 for the same amount of work.

Business Response:

Are you sure you have the right gallery? Dear Stacey H. We are sorry that you feel that your experience with us was not a positive one. We have reviewed the last six years of our customer data, and we were unable to find your order or contact information. Is it possible that it might have been a different gallery that you had framed with, as there are several galleries with similar names in Winston-Salem? In the last 20 years we have never charged anyone more than $250 USD for framing a diploma, so we feel that there must be some mistake. If you could please contact us regarding this by either phone: (336) 724-0904 or email at framegallery@framegalleryws.com we would greatly appreciate it. When calling please ask to speak with the owner, Mike Shea. Customer service has always been a top priority at the frame gallery, and we hope to hear from you soon. Sincerely, Mike Shea
