My 7 month old adoptee was a wild child. The first 3 weeks she went through about 5 collars; backing out, chewing it off, ignoring it, etc and she also went through several leashes again chewing, breaking the clasp and snapping the lead. Once she was loose she did her best to get at least one romp with every classmate. There was always an available instructor to help me get her back ??almost? in control and class continued without skipping a beat. The best part is that there was no scolding, no scaring the dog into submission. That may work for some but my goal is to have a dog that obeys because she wants to. Through direction and sometimes a one-on-one we struggled through the first several weeks. We did our homework and we finally found the right combination of collar and leash. Well, her initial puppy class has come to an end and the very best part is that we can walk around the neighborhood with no serious pulling. As long as any passer-by dogs are controlled she is able to ??leave it? and pass them without too much of a stumble. Even the other dogs that act like she used to act don??t entice her like they used to because once her attention is redirected she knows how to pick up where she left off and keep going. The instructors also were in tune to their students which was easily seen in our line up?.shy dogs were kept nearer the quieter corners and the rambunctious ones had a medium energy dog in between. At graduation the dog who started out shy of everyone proudly walked the ring and sat with no signs of stress while he was handled by a stranger. The dog who refused to walk on a leash did the ring so happy to be walking with her owner you could see her joy and the adorable younger puppies who began the class without a clue about anything except mouthing hands and tails were able to complete the entire program showing off their newly learned self-control. It has been a wonderful experience and I would highly recommend this class to everyone adding a canine to the family!

This is really a wonderful group of people that help train and help each other with training. They do offer private classes, but the fun is when you get with others that will be competing against you at AKC events. Great people, good fun
