I was a client for quite some time. Every year, prices went up, quality and compassion went down. This clinic has sunk into being all about the almighty dollar. I've had pets misdiagnosed, operations repeated because improperly done the 1st time, & been told to euthanize pets that were then cured at another vet clinic. Would advise pet owners to go elsewhere.

Great Animal Clinic! Some of the best Veterinarians, techs, & employees around. We've been taking our "babies" there since April 2000 and are more than pleased. They've always taken wonderful care of all of them, never doing any tests that were unnecessary, diagnosis right on track, with referrals to specialists when needed.

Small town businesses happen for one off two reasons: 1- they have ties to the community and are part of the small town, or 2- they aren't sufficiently competent to compete in a larger town.

Sadly, these guys are the latter.

Moving an injured animal without muzzling or sedating so that when bitten (no skin broken) they can force a 10-day stay to collect that fee. Unnecessary X-rays, delaying actions so that it can be multiple sedations... My favorite? Give all vaccinations (3-year) two days before you put the dog down.

Their address is Albemarle road. Stay on it for another 15 minutes and get to Albemarle and a real veterinarian.

I would just like to say that I got my dog groomed here once and it was also the last time. They told me when I went to pick up my dog/puppy that she tried to bite the groomer and was very ill-tempered. It cost me 75 dollars for my dog to be put under just so they could groom her. I'm not concerned about the price, but the fact that not one person in that facility could get a muzzle on a mini schnauzer puppy. I find that absolutely pathetic. Also it takes way too long for anyone to get an appointment. Hire another groomer. Honestly. There are nothing but a bunch of idiotic rednecks working in there and I don't doubt the story about her cat. Apparently the women who had a good experience either were at a completely different clinic or have plenty of money to pay those insensitive jerks. That is all.

I like Montgomery Animal Clinic, never had a problem there. I'm confused about the last poster that said they were horrible. I know this clinic is an advocate for spaying and neutering which most are. Maybe they were trying to tell you that there are way too many animals that are killed and suffer because of idiots like you who "just want to have kittens". Not getting your cat fixed is selfish and irresponsible.

Dr. Haywood (the owner) has been seeing my pets for over 15 yrs with no problems. She is very quick to see them and explain to me my best options for care. She has always preformed all of their surgeries with no problems. The staff has always been nice and caring. I just wish they had a larger facility because the place is always packed!
I have had to take one of my dogs to CVS (Carolina Veterinarian Specialist) for an ultrasound for possible juvenile kidney disease. Dr. Haywood and staff scheduled everything for me and handle all the after care. I was worried about going to a new place but the specialist there just handle extremely difficult cases that day practices are not equipted to handle.

I recently brought my cat to this animal clinic. She had been injured by a car motor. The first Dr. that I talked to was nice to begin with, but did not act too concerned. They took some X-rays and she explained to me that the cat's spine was fine, but she had a broken tail, fractured pelvis, one puncture wound, and head trauma. Well, the head trauma is what bothered me. The first Dr. told me that my cat had a good chance of living and living a normal life. I was happy to hear that. But she did tell me that my cat needed too be spayed. I was planning on that later on. I told her that I wanted my cat to have kittens with the cat I already had at my house. This is when things started to get bad. She snarled at me and told me that I don't want to breed my cat because it is a mixed breed and no one wants mixed breed cats. I told her that that didn't matter to me. Then she got an attitude with me and told me that I needed to go to the pound and watch cats get gassed every day. She told me this as if I weren't going to take care of my cats. My cat that got into an accident...I saved it from getting gassed. I saved her and eight of her family members from getting gassed. That's what I do. I rescue animals and take them in. I was really offended by that.
They told me my cat had to be left over night. So that's what I did. I called the next morning to see if she had made it. The receptionist told me yes and that she was doing better. They told me to call back later that morning so I did. They told me that she was doing much better and she was sitting up by herself. Well then they told me to call back that evening at around 3:30. Well before I even got to pick up the phone they called to tell me she died. When the Dr. told me (this was the 2nd Dr.) she told me with no emotion at all with no sympathy what so ever. She was like: "Yeah, you're cat died. You need to come get her and pay your bill." Now what I want to know is how is my cat doing much better sitting up by herself and then just a small time later she died? Not only does that confuse me, I am also upset that they did not call me like they said they would if she took a turn for the worse. When I got there to pick up my cat, the only person that was nice was the receptionist. She was really nice. Too bad the Dr. wasn't like her. If the Dr. would of been just as nice as the receptionist, everything wouldn't have been as bad. The total cost of killing my cat $253.00.
