I went to Tango Nails on Saturday 12.06.14 and Rose was my tech. I asked for a gel manicure..ok she soaked my hands as usual and proceeded to do what consist of a manicure. She filed my nails evenly,did not even buff them to smoothness.

I got a mani/pedi service. The experience was great! They took their time and paid special attention when doing the color. The staff was quiet, which I didn't mind after a long day at work in Downtown location. The massage always make me fell good and relaxed. I would definitely recommend.

I've had my nails done here for about 6 months now. I am pleased with the time and attention given to my nails, and will continue to use this salon. I do have a bit of advice that might be helpful to the business owner. Please let your employees know that English speaking clients find it very rude when the techs speak to each other in their language and ignore the customer they are serving.

I was so offended. I was a walk in on July 4th. A lady, I am assuming she was the owner, was standing near the door and wouldn't even let me in, even though the open light was on and they had customers in the chair. She asked what I wanted done. I told her a mani/pedi. She looked me up and down disapprovingly and asked if I was paying credit or cash. I told her credit and she told me no credit, closed the door and turned the lock. I am convinced that she would have rejected me no matter what. I will never beg someone to spend my money and will never visit Tango Nails again.

After expected to pay 68.00 for a pedicure and manicure for me and my 14 year old daughter, I was handed a 107.00 bill. I expected the 5.00 charge for callouses because it was on a sign. I expected a 12.00 up charge for agreeing to use a "gel" polish that would last 3 to 4 weeks. The icing on the cake was when they claimed their machine was down and couldn't take my debit card. I was asked to go to kroger and get money from the ATM machine. That seemed a bit strange so I asked about writing a check. They said yes. I wrote the check out to tango nail for 107.00 and was stopped because it needed to be written to an individual _____ Khan. Too shady for me. I will not be returning.

MOST of the people there are very nice. However all it takes is one bad experience with one individual and BOOM...I will never go back there again. I have done business on and off with Tango for about 5 years so I have seen and heard some of the crassness coming from the older lady...but it had never been directed at me, until today. She does a very good job at chasing away business!!!!!!!

I live in Cary but travel to Garner every other week or so to have Quan do my nails. I like acrylics because they hold up well even with a lot of hard use. Quan takes terrific care to protect my skin from injury. He pays close attention to the details like proper length and shape. Quan is meticulous when it comes to polish and the price is just right.

The manicurist, Quan, did an okay job for a gel fill but the product he used did not have any identification on it. Also, he put some of the gel product on my skin which is a big no-no. My pedicurist was terrible. She was barely paying attention to her work and seemed to rush through the process. I didn't feel the work was worth the price of the pedicure much less a decent tip. I usually am a good tipper but strongly believe that the work performed has to merit the tip. I don't just tip 15% because it's standard. The salon was also unkempt and didn't clearly display manicurist licenses or cleanliness grade levels. I wouldn't return there.

These are things to consider when checking out a salon: (all from WRAL's website; I couldn't attach the link here)

"A few red flags that suggest consumers might want to try a different salon:
* They use unmarked bottles.
* The technician can't tell customers what's in the products.
* The products smell unusually strong or strange.
* The technician scrapes or cuts customers?? skin.

"Experts said that, during a proper gel manicure, the technician uses a file to barely roughen the top of the fingernails, then rushes an all-in-one gel onto the nails, not the surrounding skin. Then, they use a UV lamp to harden the gel.

But experts warn that most of the ingredients used in nail products are not tested for safety by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration before they're sold. In fact, some of the acrylics used with gels can be associated with fingernail damage and deformity."

Be informed or else your bad experience can become a health issue later.

The staff here was very busy and I waited for a long time to get my nails done. I did not have an appointment, but I usually just show up wherever I go. I even asked the lady who did my nails, if it would be easier for her if I came back another day and she told me no, but I still wound up waiting for over 45 minutes. I might go back if I am in the area, but I won't make any special trips to come here.
