Haw Creek Animal Hospital is Awesome!!!

I have always loved Haw Creek Animal Hospital. The staff is loving, caring and always ready to help. Dr. Sinclair has always been there when ever I had questions or concerns about my dog. Recently we had a scare when Willow hurt her back leg. We were seen that very day and they took excellent care of both of us. She was in pain and therefore so was I. They took her as quickly as possible and got rid of her pain and by association mine. They then checked everything that could possibly be causing the problem. After close supervision and several trips back I a proud to report Willow is back to her usual crazy self and no one was as happy as I was but the staff of HCAH came very close. They truly care about all their patients, both animal and human. Everyone should be so lucky to have a wonder Dr.and staff like Haw Creek Animal Hospital taking care of their family. As for Willow and I we are truly blessed.

Lots of personal attention!

We have used Haw Creek for several years and Dr. Sinclair, Dr. Feiler, and their staff have always been wonderful. They spend a lot of time with each patient and always answer questions thoroughly. They offer holistic and conventional medicine as well as services for exotics. The staff is also supportive of animal rescue and recently had a week called NC Week for the Animals where 10% of each days income was given to local animal groups. They added evening hours when clients requested this and seem to go out of their way to ensure that everyone (animals and people) are happy during their visits.

Haw Creek Animal Hospital is great

Our dog, Yoda, seriously injured his back (he was in excruciating pain) and Dr. Feiler managed to see him immediately. She gave him pain meds, began tests and radiographs, and kept us posted with his condition. Fortunately, he recovered and we were very relieved with our quick service. It must be very difficult to work in an animal hospital since it functions as a place for routine wellness exams as well as an emergency room. The staff does a good job with scheduling and has always told us when an emergency case has just come in the door. We are happy to wait when this happens since weve had emergencies ourselves and are so glad they have accommodated us. I highly recommend them and also like that they offer holistic options. They also have not hesitated to refer us to a specialist or consult with Univ. of Tenn when needed.

Haw Creek Animal Hospital is my place for my pets!

Dr SinClair and her staff have done a wonderful job with each and all of my visits. With a waiting room full the front staff keeps you informed, the visit to the back of course is terrific. Quiet and easy going with fightened animal, loving and hugging with an animal that needs to be hugged. A true animal caring place! Expert, proffessional treatment. I will be back! From broken bones, to a degloved tail, and the routine vaccinations. My pets are happy.

Compassionate, Responsive, Holistic Care

I have been a happy client of Dr. Sinclair and her practice for several years now, from general prevention to current treatment of our two elder dogs who have Cushing disease and pancreatitis. Her compassion and attentiveness in answering endless questions is truly appreciated. It is also wonderful to have blended choices from the latest holistic and traditional approaches Haw Creek offers. After going to many vets, I can say she is the best and very much worth it! The staff is also professional, kind, and responsive. It is a great comfort to have their excellent care as they help our dogs age gracefully.

Best Veterinary Care My Pets Have Ever Received

Dr. Sinclair is hands down the absolute best veterinarian I have ever met. Her devotion and dedication to her patients (human, canine, feline, or otherwise) is unwavering. She is the type of veterinarian most people only dream of finding. Her services literally saved my German Shepard, Fly, from an otherwise certain death. I cannot recommend her enough. The staff at Haw Creek is also exemplary and should be lauded for all of the phenomenal work they collaboratively do. Fred the cat, who greats all clients, is also worth his weight in gold (just don't tell him!).

Haw Creek Animal Hospital is a VERY CARING practice.

I have experienced nothing but the best care and consideration from Dr. Sinclair and her staff. I read the other reviews - yes, sometimes it's hard to get an appointment and you may wait but it's because Dr. Sinclair takes time with her patients. Animals can't tell you what's wrong so sometimes it takes more time to understand, diagnose and treat. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this kind and compassionate veterinary practice.

Good Local Vet Practice

I've been going to this vet for several years. Both Dr. Sinclair and Dr. Feiler are great at what they do and my animals genuinely like them and feel comfortable. I have no complaints about the physical care received. They offer both traditional and holistic care. That's the good stuff.

I limit my rating to 3 stars due to what I perceive as rather lax office practices. This could be due to not having enough computer terminals available for their staff or the absence of office procedures to streamline repeated tasks. Some examples include: exceedingly long waits even when early for an appointment, lack of follow-up after surgery (this only happened once to me but it bothered me since I had no instructions to take home), and an always predictable surprise when I get my bill. It has been my experience that even when I ask for a verbal estimate it is not even close on checkout.

So, as I seem to continue to go this office because I like the care provided, I tend to schedule appts in the early morning so the wait isn't so long. I have yet to resolve my issue with the estimates not being close to quote. Will most likely go shopping for another vet. It's not that I am not aware of the cost of vet services, but I live on a shoestring budget and need to know how much to expect on a major procedure so I can meet all my monthly obligations. When a bill comes over the counter that's twice what I was quoted it becomes a financial challenge.

I am sorry you view some of our office procedures as "lax"; we insist that our staff are meticulous in all aspects of performing their duties. Even rather simple tasks, such as dispensing tablets, is more complex than might be imagined as we have protocols in place that require a second member of staff to check every dispensed prescription to ensure that what was dispensed was what was prescribed. We'd rather do it right than do it fast. The same holds for our Doctors and scheduled appointment times; while keeping to the schedule is important, our doctors would rather be thorough with their explanations and treatments than cut an appointment short because another client is waiting. The integrated, holistic medicine our hospital can provide often requires more discussion and analysis than a typical "here's your antibiotics" solution. I am concerned that you didn't get written post-surgical instructions as hospital policy dictates that every post-surgical client goes home with written instructions and that a member of the staff goes over these instructions with the client during checkout. Please call me if you’d like me to review your estimate and bill.
