I went to Goobers on the way back to Fayetteville NC for a quick bite to eat. I saw the menu was pretty big so I just picked the ribs. I figured how bad could they be. I was shocked at the size of those bad boys. they were flame charred

Downhill... A couple of years ago, Goober's was a great place to take your family out to eat. The last 3 times I have eaten there, the wait staff was sub-par and the food was just "ok".

Actually, the last time I went into Goober's, we were seated and had ordered our drinks before we saw a cheap white printer copy note on the wall which stated that Goober's no longer acceps Credit Cards or Debit Cards, with an excuse about how credit card company fees were too high and how Goober's didn't want to lessen their quality of service so they had decided to no longer accept credit cards for payment. Since I use my debit card for 90% of my purchases (as most people do in this day and age) I had no cash on me, so I just decided not to eat there, and will not again unless they change their payment policy. I mean, the place is defintely not worth making an extra trip to my bank atm to withdraw money over.

This is a poor business decision by the owner, and to make it worse, they are trying to make it seem like they are doing their customers a favor by no longer accepting their credit cards or debit cards for payment. GET REAL... Your Customers are not as dumb as you think they are. This is 2011 and if you can't run your business model without taking into account the necessary fees, then you deserve to lose your customers and you will not grow as a business.

The food is decent. The atmosphere is fun but if you want a nice quiet meal and some conversation, forget it. I really love the grilled chicken salad with house dressing. It also comes blackened.

It's a little bit pricier than most places in Mount Airy, but definitely worth it. Great food, and a great environment. There isn't much of a wait, so it's a great place to take the family.

In a town with BBQ and home cooking type places Goobers is very different. It's more of a New Orleans type of food. Lots of great seafood. Really neat decor as well. Prices are more on the expensive side for Mount Airy, but worth it.

Goobers is one of the best restaurants in Mount Airy. The food is awesome. They have different varieties of food. My favorite is the jamaican chicken sandwhich.
