I've shopped here several times for my son who's 18mos. It's a hit or miss really. I've gotten some good deals. Shoppers beware! Make sure you fully inspect each article for stains!! Some clothing has been overlooked & carelessly put out for sale anyways. The racks are very cluttered and are difficult to look through. Books are not displayed properly and need to be re-arranged so they're more appealing to the eye.

The staff is friendly, but too much talk of their personal lives I've had the unfortunate pleasure of hearing.

I'm not sure what the other listings understand about Kid to Kid, but as a buyer and seller there let me explain what I understand of it. Kid2Kid has to sell things at about a quarter of what they cost new. Then they have to pay you enough to be able to pay rent, advertsing, and to keep their store clean and nice. It has ALWAYS been nice and smelling good when I've been there - so I'm willing to pay a little more than I would at a thrift shop. Also, they do give you moe money if you spend it in the store for other things. My kids keep growing, so this works for me.

I was very dissapointed with selling there. One day i brought some things asking if the store is interested in them and waited over an hour in line to be answered "yes" but they wanted to check 4 other customer's stuff BEFORE they will do

I would not recommend selling to Kid to Kid, they give you way below the market price. You can bring an item that is only 3 months old with the tags still on it and they will offer you $2!!!! You would be much better off selling on Craigslist or donating and writing the items off during tax time. However, the prices are great if you are shopping for toys and clothes, not so much the bigger ticket items like strollers. I agree with the other posts about the customer service, could definitely use some improvement! I also think that the posts you see with 5 stars are written by the owner or employees!

I am writing this review for the Crossroads Kid to Kid. I agree with other posts. The customer service is very bad. When I visited, the owner was yelling at an employee and even used profanity. It was so unprofessional. I could not believe it. I waited till she finished her rant and asked her if she was the Manager, she then informed me that she owned the store. This left the staff rude to customers, I am assuming due to the way they were being treated. The clothes I wanted to purchase had stains and/or were torn. They would not give me a discount for the torn items. I will not shop there again.

Hello,
I noticed that someone mentioned benefiting low income families. Our non-profit does accept donations but we have limited storage available and therefore receive clothing that we can immediately give out. Sometimes that works and sometimes that doesn't. And when it does not work and I need clothes for specific individuals FAST- we go to KID to KID because of the items being very nice (which helps the moms feel great about the purchases), the atmosphere being kid friendly, and for the fact that the family can get many items (sometimes children need a whole closet worth of clothing) versus just a few. We do supplement with secondhand stores but their selection is not always the right size or nice (stains, hole, etc) items. So KID to KID is our first choice.

I will not recommend to sell nothing to this store. I brought 4 bags of clothes, a few items w/ store tags still on them and they refuse to buy it, nothing was wrong w/ the item. She stated, "I don't feel anyone would buy it." Okay, it's a beautiful shaw for church or dress down. I feel SOME items are way overpriced and items I've seen on the floor should of been sent back to the owner, was torn and threads were coming out of the item. I'm not downing the store b/c of what I got for mine, but my clothing was in great condition compared to what I saw on the floor. CUSTOMER SERVICE, AWFUL.

I have been a customer of Kid to Kid since I found out that I was pregnant. A friend of mine recommended them for maternity clothes, and I was pleased with their selection and prices. I was able to find clothes for work and the weekend and found almost my entire maternity wardrobe there. I have continued to shop there for items that we needed once the baby was born. We always check Kid to Kid before going to Target or Babies R Us. A couple of employees are exceptional? particularly Shannon. She remembers me each time I visit the store and always asks about my son. She has helped me pick out items and even loads them into my car. Recently, I decided to try selling some items that we did not need. When I was confused about the selling process and unsure how prices were determined, the store owner himself contacted me to clear up the situation. Patrick was very helpful and I really appreciated the fact that he took the time to call me on Saturday morning. It is true that you will not earn as much consigning as you might selling on Craigslist, but it is much more convenient. By selling to Kid to Kid I don??t have to worry about taking pictures, posting ads, meeting people, dealing with no-shows, etc. when I should be focusing on our 5 month old. Overall the process works for everyone: the seller makes money on items they don??t need, the store makes money on items that they sell, and the buyer is able to find quality merchandise at a reasonable price. After the exemplary customer service I received today from Patrick Fish, I will continue to shop at and sell to Kid to Kid. (I also really appreciate that they offer a military discount and send coupons and newsletters via email.)

***edited to add that Betsy (I think that is her name) is also very helpful. She always takes me to the item I am looking for or looks herself if I can't find something.

Not bad, all things considered. I have never consigned with them and dont intend to, and I know that I could get better prices on my higher end items elsewhere. But... I have had a great time finding learning toys and games for my two year old daughter. They were a reasonable price (not basement bargains but definatly not retail either) and in decent condition. I got a huge fisher price shopping cart in very good condition for fourteen dollars. Like I said, not a bad price overall. Would like to see much better prices for items that are obviously worn... I am not paying ten bucks for a very worn dress no matter what the brand name is.

I agree with a lot of previous posters about the amount of credit given for items so I generally use Craig's List, ebay or host a garage sale. HOWEVER, their prices on toys and clothing are quite good. I've never seen it dusty or dirty in there like a previous poster. Instead I've always found it neat and well maintained. I live near the one in Apex and work near the one in Cary and between the two rarely need to pay retail unless I'm on a tight time frame for something.

I needed fall clothes for my daughter, so I thought I would bring in her old stuff (in great condition, some tags still on) and get store credit to buy new clothes. I called Kid to Kid and they were rude on the phone. I thought, maybe she was having a bad day, so a few days later I came in with my stuff. Both girls acted like they didn't even want me in there, like I was interrupting them. There store was dirty and smelly. They wanted to give me $16 for my bin of clothes. And they said that there were spots on things that were BRAND NEW, with the tags still on. I looked over everything before bringing it in. I will never go there again. I would rather give my stuff away!!!!

This is an excellent store. Prices are a little high, but it is very clean, and well organized. People complaining about low consignment need to GET A CLUE. K2K does all the work for you, and pays retail rent. You know the terms up front, and *you choose* to consign. If you don't like their services, go to craig's list. Don't like CL? Have a yard sale (where I guarantee you'll make less). Or, start your own store. This world is full of whiners who don't take responsibility and want their cake and eat it too. Here's a final tip: kids stuff is virtually worthless because their is so much of it (high supply == low prices). $80 new bike + clothes only worth $8 used to you after someone else leases retail space, pays employees, advertises for customers? Yes, that's about right since you did very little work in the transaction. Get over it or stop paying ridiculous amounts of money for kids items and expect to get it back. You'll do much better if you consider these items are reused, thus saving on consumption of energy and raw materials, and people of lesser means can afford to purchase higher quality goods.

Great store, keep up the good work. Several girlfriends turned me on to it, particularly for toys.

I have found quality toys and clothes here. I have sold some, and they were fair with what they accepted. At the time I was a little upset at price offered, but then I remembered that this is a business, and if they offered more money to buy the items, then we would not be able to buy items for such a great price. I would buy from there again in an instant.

These people absolutely RIP YOU OFF! The person that wrote the review complaining that people want to make a fortune off of their kids clothing must work there or own it.....I took some very nice clothing into that store and they offered me $9 or a $10 store credit!!! The clothing they sell for the most part I could get at the Salvation Army in the same condition for less money.....They give you pennies for your stuff then turn around and sell it at an extremely huge mark up!! I will be donating to the Salvation Army or GCF from now on. I will never take any clothes in there again nor will I buy anything from them. I took the store credit because I figured someone actually needs those clothes and needs them at a discounted price and would benefit from my GIVING!! The only thing is I wish I knew the person because had I known I was going to be ripped off I would have just given the stuff to them like I gave it to Kid to Kid!

I am in town visiting my grandchildren from Georgia. I heard of Kid to Kid and decided to find the closest one to my son's house to get some good deals on clothes and toys. My husband and I went to the Crossroad Plaza location today and had a great experience. Not only were there lots of toys to chose from the staff was very friendly. Upon entering, we were quickly greeted by a young lady behind the counter. We roamed the store and picked up lots of clothes for our grandaughter. We were checked out by the same young lady. She was very polite and even took the time out to share a story about her children with us. When leaving another manager type lady told us thanks for coming in and to have a good day. I read the other reviews about the stores and cannot agree with what was said. Whenever we return to the area we will definatly be back to get more clothes. I hope we have another great experience next time as we did this one!

Pros: Great customer service and good selection

I love how people write there reviews for other Kid to Kid stores on this site. And then assume they are all the same. The crossroads store is under new ownership. The previous posts are from the old ownership. Unfortunately they are stuck with that, but for people to rate this store badly when they have never even been there...give me a break. If you're mad call the owner of the store you visited. But don't bad mouth something you have never tried. And if you feel so robbed of your high end clothes say NO and take them someplace else. We don't steal or force anyone to take our offers. And that's what they are offers so don't take it personally. We actually donate a huge amount of clothing to charities that we can't use on a weekly basis. We support many causes the most resent being Relay for Life, Kids Appreciation Day, and Parents in Prison. If you want to recycle your clothes and give others a chance to wear what they may otherwise not be able to afford bring them to us. If you want full price then YOU take the time to consign, or list them on a site and sell them yourself. This isn?t for everyone and you won't get rich selling your kids things. Some people don't have that time. So before you call names at least try us. Then you can complain all you want.

Pros: Customer service

.

My experience was at the BEAVERCREEK Kid to Kid but it sounds like the Crossroads location is just as bad. Terrible service, very rude and you get NOTHING for your high-end clothes. As someone else stated, I would rather donate my clothes to deserving people than have my clothes essentially stolen from me. As for buying clothes, I occasionally found cute things, but nothing I was excited about. Most of the clothes are ratty and very worn. Buyer and, especially seller, BEWARE!!!

Before visiting the Drexel Hill kid to kid store On March 7,2008. I went to their website to view the procedure for selling items. The site read that only toys in gift giving condition and high in clothing are accepted. Well, I gathered all of the excellent condition fisher price and leap frog learning toys my 2 yr old had. Her age should speak for itself, the toys were handled by adults during teaching time. I sold about 15 toys, which included working batteries. When I arrived at the store, the store manager wasn't very customer friendly he was made aware that this was my first time with disregard he rushed me along picking out the toys while tossing them from my box into their basket. "No this wont sell, no we don't need this okay we'll take this and call you later". I was stunned. Well I did receive a call Sat afternoon stating that I will be paid $10. I disagreed with this amt. I called the store back immediately during business hours, I was forwarded to the answering machine 3xs, I then emailed the company to request a pick up of the items.I would have felt better donating and then claiming on my taxes. I received a call that Monday stating too late items on the shelf. Oh not to mention you only have 3 days to pick up your money or you will get store credit only. when I went to pick up my millions I looked to see what my items were being sold for, well lets just say Kid to Kid will make $70 off of all the items I sold them and yes I made $10 (boy was that a steal Literally) Heck of a mark up huh. well

Pros: great idea

Cons: does not pay enough for the hi end items requested.

I was nervous about going to a resale shop, but I really wanted all this baby furniture out of my house. The Staff was nice and helpful (unloading the furniture), the store is clean, neat, and the products look like new! The price given for my furniture was fair, and I even bought the "push tricycle" I had been wanting. I wish this shop was closer to home!

I consigned some time ago because I was so disappointed by what they offered me for so many clothes I did not go back. They took about 25 items and gave me an unfair offer of 13 dollars in store credit or 8 dollars cash. I do shop there when I can't find what I am looking for elsewhere. They are pricey but you get nice clean clothes that have very little where. which is why I didn't understand how they came up with my offer. I was told they give you 2/3 of the price. I know I have gone back and forth so bottom line don't consign there if you don't want the max on your items and shop there if you do want good clean clothes for you babes.

I have been an avid resaler and customer of Kid to Kid for years. The owner, Brenda, has always been helpful and resourceful when I have inquired. I drive 20 miles just to check the store when my daughter needs clothes. I have been succesful finding good quality Limited Too, Gap and Ralph Lauren at great prices! Prior to this, my daughter was a Gymboree, The Children's Place and Gap kid and that is when I became hooked on Kid to Kid. Of course, it is a used clothing store, but it IS NOT a thrift or toss-away store, thus the prices will be higher than $2.00 Goodwill jeans, but you don't feel dirty and have to plow through the junk to find the gem. It's clean, neat and organized.

For shopping: This store has a pretty good selection of clothes, at decent prices (I have seen better). However, their customer service routinely fails to impress, or even get a passing grade in my book.
For selling your used items: I have never had a more negative experience anywhere. Their policies definitely work against the seller. I would definitely NOT recommend taking your used items to this store. You are better off ebaying, or garage sale-ing, or donating to charity. This is part of a franchise, and there is a new and much better store in Beaver Creek in Apex.

This is a good place to find quality used children's clothing. I have had good luck finding clothes and toys there for the past year. The store also will buy your used items...I can't say that my experience with that side of the business has been as good. Just beware of the fine print before you bring anything in.

I was not impressed with the selection (for the prices that they were charging). I did find some cute clothes, but I put them back when I saw that they wanted practically twice what I would have paid at a thrift shop. Don't know if I would shop here again - maybe, if I needed something that I couldn't find elsewhere and didn't want to pay full retail.

I have recently been to Kid to Kid for the first time. I was very impressed with the selection of clothing and equiptment for children. I was looking for a double jogging stroller and they did not have one but they put my name on a list to call if they got one in. I have never had a consignment shop willing to do that before. I can't wait to go back.

I first started shopping at Kid to Kid when I was three months pregnant. My child is now 3 and I still go there at least once a month for quality childrens clothing, furniture and toys. I highly recommend this store to any expectant mother or a mother who wants to purchase quality resale children's clothing.

The sales associate was unfriendly from the beginning then she became rude. She didn't seem to want to help us at all, and she answered one of my questions while walking away mumbling. The look on her face clearly stated, 'Why are you still here, get out.' The next day when I called and spoke with the manager. The manager didn't seem to care and said 'all she could do was talk to her (the sales associate)'. I told her I would not come back to her store and would not recommend it. She said "Okay." Not exactly the response I was hoping for.
