I find their customer service outstanding and I have been coming here for 25 years. They always answer all my questions and my three boxers just could not be any happier. I would recommend them to anyone who loves there pet, mine are like my family and that is how they treat them at sunnybrook one big happy family.

Our Lab spent 6 days at Sunneybrook and when we picked him up he was sick!!! Respiratory illness, 4 lb. weight loss, terrible shedding and lethargic. I would never use or recommend them to anyone. Minimum care with unsanitary conditions. I would never use them again.

We "rescued" Rocket, our Australian Cattle Dog/Spitz mix, from a shelter when he was seven months old. He had apparently been abused; for more than a year he was VERY skittish around strangers, particularly men. But by the third time we boarded him at Sunnybrook, he bounced through the front door like the staff there were his long-lost friends. Can I tell you how much good that did our hearts, and the volumes it spoke as to the care that he obviously gets there?
If you love your pets (and who doesn't?), there may be cheaper places to board them. But frankly I wouldn't know and don't care, because Rocket is a happy, healthy boy when we pick him up. Sunnybrook even dotes on Muffin, our cantankerous 10 year old feline with major "catitude".
If we could rate Sunnybrook Kennels more than "Five Stars", we definitely would!

As a former employee of the kennel I can assure you that if your dog is kept in the quiet room where some small nervous dog are sometimes kept, he/she did not stand on wire. The cages are big and are plenty big enough for bedding. The staff always puts bedding down for dogs. If your dogs feet were red or irritated its probably because your dog is hyper and is bouncing around constantly. I know everyone of the staff at the kennel and I know they always take the time to answer all questions. Sunnybrook DOES do playtime with the dogs. Trust me I have done it. Thats one of the fun parts of working there is playing with the dogs. And yes the do board alot of dogs but they have enough staff to give each dog that one on one special time. I wouldnt trust anyone else with my dogs.

I recently had a family emergency and had to go out of town. I called Sunnybrook to make reservations and explained my situation.Even though I would not been able to be there before they closed Ginger was willing to stay after hours and wait for me. I was really nervous about boarding my dogs because they have never been boarded before. And one of my dogs is very aggressive. When I got there, she took me on a tour of the facility and answered all my questions. She was very patient and kind. She was wonderful with my dogs even the aggressive one. She took her time with her and just loved my dogs. The staff at Sunnybrook is so kind. I called 2 times a day to check on my babies. When I arrived to pick up my dogs, they were outside having playtime. I had purchased playtime for my 'nice' dog but to my amazement they had both my dogs out playing in the yard. The aggressive one was actually playing fetch with one of the staff members. Sunnybrook is the best. I would never leave my babies with anyone else. And if you care about your dogs, you wouldnt either.

I moved to town just a few months ago and needed a place to board my yorkie. Ginger took my phone call and answered all my questions. I was really worried about boarding my dog because she has never been boarded before. Ginger mentioned that they had a small room with cages for little dogs that were timid or nervous, and thought that I might like my dog to stay there instead of the actually kennel. I went to Sunnybrook to take a tour before I made reservations. Hannah gave me a tour of the facility and its so nice. The dogs have these nice runs with a door that go to a covered outside area! I couldn't get over how much room my dog would have in their smallest run, and the larger dogs have HUGE runs! Sunnybrook has two nice size yards and even special places outside that they take the dogs to use the bathroom when its raining and they won't get wet. I looked at the room with the cages that Ginger had mentioned and even though my little yorkie would have had plenty of room and her bed would fit into the cage I figured she'd like it better in the runs so that's where I decided to board her. I got her a haircut before I picked her up and she just looked so cute, it was a nice summer hair cut and the groomer had put the cutest little feather bow in her hair and I couldn't get over how pretty and happy she was when I picked her up! If I ever need to board my dog again I will definatly call Sunnybrook, Hannah and Ginger put up with ALL my questions and worries, and even the phone calls during Gidget's stay there that I made to check on her.

STAY AWAY, my dog was housed in a SMALL cage here and stood on wire for a week. When we picked him up his poor little feet were so red and irritated. I asked to see where he stayed and they wouldn't show me, I know he was stuck in a cage. I have since talked with a former employee of Sunnybrook and they verified that they will definitely put small dogs in cages so that they can hold as many pets as possible during busy times (and of course they don't tell you that, but that is why they don't allow you to see where you dog was staying). The employees were very rude and not willing to answer my questions about how he ate, played, etc. They don't know becuase there are too many pets there. The former employee also told me that they do not do the playtimes that they are charging for you. BEWARE!!

I have used SunnyBrook for over 4 years now. My dog is getting up in age now, so we couldn't do the usual playtimes that they offer because of his Arthitis. Well, one day my flight arrived early and I left straight from the airport to go pick up my baby. When I arrived I saw an employee outside in the grass area just sitting there with Duke letting him get some fresh air and giving him some TLC. It was wonderful to see Duke having fun and the employee going beyond the call of duty just to make him happy. SunnyBrook is the best kennel I've ever dealt with and I recommend it to anyone and everyone that wants their pets to be very well taken care of!

I have boarded my Rotties at Sunnybrook for the past 5 years. My Rotties are not very friendly with strangers. The first time that I boarded them with Sunnybrook, I told the owner that they were not very friendly. She has over 30 years experience as a professional dog handler and breeder and made me feel very comfortable as I did not want the staff to be bitten. She explained to me that it may take more than just one visit for the staff to work with them. She suggested day care and it has made a tremendous difference in their attitude towards strangers. The very first visit, I went back to the kennel to get them and they were so happy to see me that one of them peed on the floor. Mrs Smith explained that this was common behavior with dogs that are fearful. No other kennel will ever keep my rotties but Sunnybrook!!!
They truly care about your pet!!!

I used to work at Sunnybrook Kennels while I was in college and the owners care about every pet boarded with them. The dogs are let out 3 to 4 times a day. The owners show their dogs and I totally disagree that show dogs do not get attention!!!! This is just not true!! I would recommend Sunnybrook to anyone as I boarded my dog and cat there over this Thanksgiving holiday and their standards are still as high as they were when I worked there. There prices are in line with other ABKA Kennels in the area. The staff works long hours. I do not try to get out as cheap as I can when I board my pets, YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR AY SUNNYBROOK! If the owner asked the person in the previous post to go back with them to get her dog, it was probably very aggressive and might need the help of an animal behaviorist and the owner needs to spend more time trying to socialize their pet!

I recently left my two dogs at sunny brook kennels. They are both german sheperds and they are both picky eaters. When I got back from the beach the girl who worked there said she loved my dogs. I found out that she broght my dogs cheese!I feel like my babies are taken great care of here. Many people who bring their dogs to sunny brook continue to bring their dogs to sunny brook. They have one of the best kennels I have ever seen. They have great workers, and great service.I also like the sanatairy factor. The runs were spotless not to mention the dogs clean water buckets.I also like that my dogs get let outside 4-5 times a day.Every dog had bedding down for them provided by the kennel. I strongly recomend these kennels. Oh and by the way they are part of the American Kennel Club. If you are going out of town take your dog somewhere safe and where they will be taken exceptional care of, take them to sunny brook!
PROS: great service, great help, I wouldnt use anyone else!

While living in Concord, I was looking for a place to board my dogs while I was on vacation. I first called Sunnybrook. I asked for rates and was put on hold for at least 10 minutes. When they came back to the phone, they told me that someone had came in and they had forgotten I was on the phone. No apology or anything. A red flag went up then. They proceded to give me the rates and when I asked why they were so high, this person became very rude. I finally just ended the call and found somewhere else to board my dogs. I would not recommend them.
