In response to Ray K, You might have found the part on line at alower cost, but remember they have to mark up the cost to cover warranty calls,service charges etc.. They have a right to make a profit. I have been in the HVAC field for over 20yrs. And my old boss use to say " if you want to bring your heating system to my shop to work on it I will take50% off your bill!!!!" Any company that makes house calls has a huge overhead!!!! Why dont you try looking up on the internet what it cost to run a company in todays market!! Relax!! Joe F

They fixed my problem, but the tech tried to snow me with a comment that he only charged me for the part (and not their second visit charge). A $198 pressure switch sounded high to me, even OEM. I did not crawl under the house to read the part number, but I checked the internet. The standard Carrier PS is $32 for my unit. There's a new upgraded switch available for $86, but since he didn't tell me he used it, my guess is that it was the $32 part. I know a few good, honest mechanics, but they're all outta town. Rats.

I had need of a new system and after looking st 5 different companies determined for the quality I wanted YD had the best price. My old system stopped recently and I called Tom on Monday & Weds. the installers showed up right on time, worked like crazy, even in a 160 degree attic & I was up & running by 4 PM. They did everything they said they would, Great job!

I've been on contract with them for 3 years for preventive maintenance on heating and air conditioning. I keep getting postcards from them that they are trying to reach me to schedule appointments. They say they don't have my phone number EVERY TIME. It's halfway or more through the heating season and they've not been to the house. After three years, how hard is it to have a contract holders phone number on their records??

Yellow Dot just replaced the furnace in my 70 yr old house... no easy task. Supplies and returns needed work along with the new system. Also, my old furnace decided to die on the coldest day of the year. Jason and the install team took on the challenge quickly, professionally and at a very reasonable cost. I highly recommend Yellow Dot and also suggest not shopping for your new HVAC strickly on price... you will get what you pay for.

We had our heat pump and air handler replaced with a Trane system back in March and our experience with Yellow Dot was great. We spent a lot of time getting prices and talking to a lot of different companies and they were the most professional and gave us the best price. I was very impressed with the installation and the follow-up of the salesman. He actually came out and helped the installer finish the job. We are getting ready to build on and we will not even call anyone else.

My 3 year Lennox unit started having a hard time cooling my house so I called Yellow Dot because the builder (Centex) recommended it. The tech came out and said the unit was low on freon. Pumped some in and 2 days later the unit started freezing. This is just before July 4th weekend. I called them in the afternoon of the 3rd and they said sorry but everyone was gone for the weekend. The second tech comes out today and says the unit is low 1lbs of freon and it may have a leak. So far this is costing me $300. Now after seeing this board I'm thinking I've just become another victim.

My wife and I are also experiencing similar problems with Yellow Dot, to include extremely poor customer service. We have identified two other neighbors on our street that are having similar issues. We are in the process of sending letters to the builder, the manufacturer, and Yellow Dot, as well as to our neighbors in the new subdivision to determine if others have had a similar problem. We have also sent our concerns to ABC Troubleshooter and ABC Investigates. Would you be willing to express your concerns if we are contacted? I am really surprised to hear that. I have just recently had three new trane units installed at my new home by Yellow Dot. All the staff was very humble, with good workmanship, and their price was very competitive with the three other HVAC companies i had quote. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

I am appalled by the services and charges of yellow dot..I have a new townhouse of less than 3 years..Twice in 3 years my unit has lost all of its freon, due to leaks, so they say?? Up until now I was covered under the warranty, now they want me to pay..The evaporated coil seems to be damaged this time and has caused the leak..They want to charge me $791.43!! That does not include the coil, which Lennox is warrantying. I have had yellow dot come numerous time to repair something in my units.I think I have a lemon and also with the installation of it by yellow dot.I would never recommend them!!
