you people i personly hate the princibal but look at the scores the teachers there just amazing. i once was aa student there and now at 18 im working as a enginer for ge. this is crazy all schools do not depend on the princible they depend on scores teachers staff. im not saing that the pricible does not have a inpact on schools but one princible can not change a school.

I am dealing with the principle at HUntersville elementary school. In my sons IEP meeting she was rude and crude to me and told me my son was not capable of doing anything or learnin anything. She has no skills to be a good and respectful principle. She has no respect and love for the parents or the children. She4 wants to get ride of the children she can not control or are easy to deal with. She will lie on the parent and lie about what your child can do. She also will not inform or include you in what they are doing with your child. You need to go and spy on the classroom this is serious stuff. I am contacting the superintendent about this. Do not let her do your child wrong physicfally, mentally, and emotionally. If she says your child is or is not doing something you need to research it deeply with out going to her. To verify the truth do not let her know you are doing it and what you are doing to research it. She is very sneaky and will try to keep you from doing what you can and have the legal right to do and have.

I agree that this principal lacks the social skills to be in her position. I recently was asked to volunteer for my child's class. I travel alot and thought this would be a great way to spend my free time when I am home and not traveling. The day I went in to volunteer the teacher asked me if I registered on line. I did not know about registering until the Friday before my volunteering. I volunteered on the following Monday. I asked the office if they had my approval from the school law. They said "no." I asked for the principal so I can get further guidance to expedite this process. I really didn't want to let my child and the class down with me volunteering. The principal was irate and acted like she had no time for a new parent. She insulted me and called me a liar and spun her poor attitude towards me and blamed me as a threat to her and her kids. I was confused and could not believe such a delusional person could be employed by CMS. I wanted to write a letter to the Superintendent. I decided not to due to the fact that I did not want to not put my child in the spot light and avoid any other incidents from this delusional principal. Hopefully the Superintendent reads these reviews or this woman retires soon.

This school has great EOG scores, a top-notch PTA, lots of parent involvement, and an excellent Talented & Gifted Program. However, the principal leaves a lot to be desired. We tranfered our daughter just after spring break. After tons of research and even putting together aspread sheet to help in our decison making, we settled on Huntersville Elementary School as our school of choice. Our child is extremely bright and has been tested and accepted into the schoos "Talented & Gifted" program. We are involved parents and upon enrolling our daughter have atteneded every PTA meeting since we moved into the district. Although we've heard positive as well as negative feedback about the school, we decided that it was an excellent place to learn. The overcroding issue will be resolved with the start of the 2005-06 school year since they've built a second elementary school (Torrence Creek on Ranson Road) to eliviate that problem. Nevertheless, the principal leaves a lot to be desired. She's got a very intemidating demeaner (suits every day and her hair slicked back or in a tight bun), but more importantly, she's just not "child" friendly. In the five times she's had the opportunity to speak highly of the school or welcome my husband and I to the district or the community, she's taken that opporuntiy to just toot her own horn so to speak. I've called on two spearate occasions to schedule face-to-face meetings with her and she's just been too "busy" to talk with parents. She's pushed us off on to the assistant principal several times. While I understand that the school has a huge parent base, I find it unbelieveable that she has yet to take the time to speak to new parents about the direction f the school, dicipline issues, etc. My husband and I had to threaten to call the superintendents office for answers before she would conced to talking with us one-on-one about a specific issue of consern.

PROS: Campus is well-kept, gymnasium is huge, arts program is great
CONS: Principal, Trailors (learning cottages), Dicipline a bit much!
