Belmont General Store

This store is great! Reminiscent of old shops from my childhood. They have a great selection and the staff was very helpful. We'll continue to shop and support this business.

Owner was rude, This guy is a real idiot. Lowe's and Home Depot are right down the street. I will not be back, I feel ashamed to have ever made a purchase there.

Great way to support a local business! Whether you are looking for a small tool or wanting a Cowtail this place is a must. Kids can play at the train table while you peruse the goods.

Belmont General Store is located on Main Street in Belmont, North Carolina. It is the place to go for unique items and hard to find items, especially those from yesteryear. They old all kinds of kids games you won't find any place else; they are the older kind. You will also find bottle coca colas, all kinds of hardware, all kinds of knick knacks. The prices are ok, but the atmosphere is great. I have been a customer of theirs for years. I love it!

Before the Belmont General Store opened, if you needed any type of hardware, you had to drive to Gastonia and fight the Franklin Square traffic. BGS has done a wonderful job of stocking a little of everything you might need and still managed to keep prices reasonable. The store owners are terrific. You just won't meet any nicer guys.

I LOVE THIS STORE! It's so much fun! When you walk through the door, you're transported to a simplier time. Old fashioned toys greet you on one sid. Penny candy and sodas in glass bottles are on the other! You can find a little of everything in here. The owners couldn't be nicer! They know exactly where everything is. The prices are reasonable. They're a little higher than the chain hardware, but not by much.

Stepping into Belmont General Store is like stepping back in time. From the friendly staff to the small coke, sold in glass bottles. This store has a something for everyone. The DIY will find a decent selection of plumbing and electricals parts, along with garden items and even a thing or two for Fido. Kids will love the selection of old fashion toys and everyone loves the varieties of nickel candies and sodas in glass bottles. This is just a fun place to shop!

PROS: Friendly Staff, good selection of merchandise
CONS: NOTHING!
