Had lunch there yesterday. Great food and service and HUGE portions. Everyone at the table loved their food, and I like their salsa more than any other Mexican restaurant's.

This can't be considered authentic Mexican food. Every dish seems to have the same thick coating of cheese and sauce. The tables are sticky and the wait staff acts like they are doing you a favor by refilling your drink. I noticed one

The waiter was very abrupt. He did not introduce himself. He did not smile. Nor did he take the time to make us feel welcome. It was fairly uncomfortable. But, we allowed ourselves to look past that. Otherwise, their food was good. They provide complimentary chips and salsa as well. Their lunch menu is priced fairly attractively. You get a lot of lunch for your money. If you're looking for good food and put less value on polite and genuine service, then this is the place for you.

Pros: Food was great, prices were attractive

Cons: Service was far below par

My wife and I enjoyed the mariachi band , especially the one dollar margaritas! you guys are the best! keep up the good work! The service was nice as can be, it almost made me feel as if i was in Cancun, the owner welcomed us into their house , since we were first timers from California. He treated us with loyalty and respect. We liked the fact that kids eat free! Our children enjoyed the food and are oldest child had their birthday there with all its friend, we had a great time and we decided to make Toreros our mexican resturaunt.

This resturant has the best chips and salsa ever. They have wonderful authentic mexican dishes! I love eating here! Service is always good. And, if you drink they have a bar which is seperated form the main eating area so it still has a great family autmosphere. Big screen TVs are great for the sports fan, they always have on the game for that day.

My wife and I recently visited this restaurant on October 16th, 2008, and believe me, we will NEVER return.

I couldn't believe the bad service we received. The person that greeted us was extremely rude to my wife from the very beginning. Not sure if he was having a bad day or what, but it was highly unnecessary!

Come to find out, it was the owners son!!! How can the owners son be rude to the customer?

In business, the best advertisement is word of mouth. Believe me when I state that Toreros Mexican Restaurant in Cary, NC located off of Kildare Farm Rd will get the worst advertisement ever!

Stay away from this restaurant. If the owners son is giving bad service, I can only imagine what everyone else will give.

If you are mexican or hispanic please dont go to this restaurant..why? its funny but..if you are mexican they treat you like a bag of garbage...they talk in a nasty tone of voice, they dont even ask if the mexicano customer is ok, and also be very careful if you spend only $5 euros they charge you for $10 dollars. as if you dont have any money to pay the bill...but when they seee a BOLILLO OR Gringito...god has arrived on earth...I was there once and a white lady arrived the waitress told her " bienvenida amiga" for the non-spanish speakers " welcome my friend" and the lady told the waitress " NO amiga, customers, keep your distance..." THe waitress wants to clean the white customer's arse...MExicanos y Mexicanas, go to fiesta mexicana if you want to be treated like a bolillo....that restaurant is truly color blind.

I went here for my birthday with my family, which includes my husband and our two-year-old daughter. This is a very family-friendly place. There were at least four other families with young children in the restaurant when we were there. We went on a Saturday evening, and it was fairly full but not crowded. The restaurant is in a strip mall on Kildaire Farm Road. From the outside, it looks like a "joint," but inside, the ambiance is better than your average Mexican place. It's clean and there's a sports bar attached, so they have sports playing on a huge plasma TV on the wall. I didn't care about that, but if your hubby is giving you a hard time about going out for dinner, that is a good persuasion tool. The salsa here was delicious. In most Mexican places, the salsa is like tomato sauce--fairly bland and tasteless. This salsa was spiced perfectly and it wasn't too thick or overwhelmingly hot. The food, in general, was awesome. They have a large children's menu, which includes both Mexican options and traditional American items. The best part is that the prices were surprisingly low. For my husband, my daughter, and me, it was $35, including tip. I got a margarita, which was HUGE, for only $6. And unlike many places, they actually put rum in it. Also, my husband is a vegetarian, and there was a whole page of items for just vegetarians. He really enjoyed his meal, and he's not a big fan of Mexican food. Overall, this was a great dining experience. We will definitely go back.

Although my family was seated before two other groups (which were Mexican), Server waited on those tables choosing to ignore us. When we complained to the Manager, he just said Sarcastically "too bad." We haven't been back.

Average food at best, bland salsa, and slow and unfriendly customer service.
They claim that kids eat free with purchase of adult meal. When I checked out they refused to give me this deal because I had ordered the daily special. I didn't realize I had ordered the special, I ordered off the menu. So instead of charging me $0.45 more for my meal they charged me $2.95 for my daughter's. When I complained the cashier told me I would need to speak to the manager - but she was busy at the moment. I told the cashier they had lost a customer, and her reply was that she only worked there. A perfect example of their customer 'service'.

After living in Mexico for three years, I have come to terms with the fact that there is no such thing as "authentic Mexican food" in the Triangle. That aside, Torero's is great. The salsa is amazingly good (a little too good!!! I overeat every time!). The portions are huge. Service is usually pretty good, but they occasionally need an extra hand on the floor.
I am pretty impressed with their tacos, which are offered with two soft tortillas and a little meat, which is much more similar to authentic than these huge meaty, sour cream, lettuce, and cheese filled American things that we call tacos.

We went in the middle of the afternoon on Father's day and the service was not good at all. They were clearly understaffed (waiters running around) and we were pretty much ignored throughout our meal. Two large tables near us ordered well after we did, but got their food quite a bit before us. The food was below average for mexican food with the fresh chip salsa being the highlight of the meal. The only plus was the size of the portions. At our normal resturaunt, we NEVER have to ask for more chips or drink refills - not true here.

We have been going to the Torero's on Atlantic and absolutely love their food!!! We live in NW Raleigh and it is a bit out of our way...but it is the only place we go for Mexican!! Our favorites are the Fajita Burrito and Chili Rellenos. The salsa is wonderful...the service is great (ask for Mario!) and the price is just right!

Torero's is the best Mexican food we have found in the US. We now live in TX (you'd think we'd have better Mexican food here!) and still miss our frequent trips to Durham's Torero's.

The downtown Durham location is the best. When the Mexican co-workers from the Chapel-Hill/Durham area says this is the best taste and the bigger portions, they are right. This restaurant holds plenty of nice little touches that make you feel like you are in Mexico. Reasonable pricing keeps you coming back.

we have loved torrero's since we moved here - the food is always good and one of the few places you can get shredded beef or pork in your tacos, etc. the staff is always very friendly and make a huge effort to serve well - sometimes they don't understand english very well but I will take someone who makes a big effort to serve (a rarity in this area) than someone who can speak english perfectly... the combo's are the best deal, the fajitas one of the tastiest things on the menu and the big burritos are delicious. Don't fill up on the salsa and chips they send out at the beginning though - easy to do since they are to DIE for...

Torero's (Raleigh)...How can you mess up Mexican? Just ask them! They did it. When you think Mexican veggies, do you think carrots, brocolli, & cauliflower? What happened to sauteed onions, peppers, & portabellos?! The veggies look like frozen Green Giant CA medley, only not *that* good! Kudos to the salsa, but the rest is well worth missing!
