Lyle at Wilmington NC store swore he had a brand new rifle of the brand I wanted and would ship over the internet. Package arrived used as a rusted beater with slotted screws next to allen head screws; scratched and repainted from a can of spray paint if you can believe it. When I called him and pointed out it was used he consistently lied and said it was brand new. I then informed him there was a sales receipt from 2011 in the torn box from another gun store and he promptly hung up. I am totally screwed here..

I am a lady and I'm not an expert on guns but I do have manners and I have to say that the staff at Jim's was so incredibly rude that I left the store very angry. I have been to Jim's on two occasions to purchase a gun. The guy who helped me make my first purchase was so incredibly nasty that I left with my purchase but vowed never to go back. Being the pushover that I am, my son talked me into going back and giving them a second try. What a mistake. We were completely ignored for more than 20 minutes while standing at the service counter until we forced our presence on some employee who then treated us like he was doing us a grudging favor. When I'm spending hundreds to thousands of dollars at a business, I like to be treated like they are at least grateful for my patronage. Not even close. I will never ever go back.

I'll be honest....I've never set foot in Jim's. But I'm new to Fayetteville and I was looking for a gunsmith to do a trigger job and put some Hougue G-10 grips on my Sig P 226. Based on reviews that I believe are honest, I won't be going to Jim's. For one thing the sheer volume of bad reviews on not only the insiderpages.com but also Google reviews and other places, there are too many talking about the attitude thing and just a little detective work let's me know they are legit. The good reveiws are easy to spot as plants. I went to Gun's Plus when I first got here and although the staff was very friendly and knowledgable, and more than willing to help and answer any and all questions, I found their prices to be a little high. Still that doesn't mean I won't do business with them. I spend thousands of dollars annually on firearms, ammo and firearm related supplies so folks have to earn my business. Anyplace that treats any members of our armed forces will not ever get my business. I'm curious as to why the owner of this place has not come on here to try to make amends? I saw another review that said he thought the guy was trying to make an effort but having even one of those rude employees left or at least issuing them an ultimatum saying if they are caught being abnoxious once more they're gone is beyond me. I won't be giving Jim's any business. To the owner.....don't you think you need to take some drastic steps to try to repair your rep?

Ladies and Gentlemen, the high rating reviews of Jim's Pawn are all plants. My reference:

Jan P. who said "Jim's Pawn Shop Inc nicest real gun store ive seen." Jan P. is actually the daughter of Jo F., an employee of the establishment who posed using her daughter's name. As further proof, look at the avatar next to the review then look at the pictures found at the following link, you will find them to be the same:
https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1402492072&sk=photos

It just goes to show you that not only are many of their employees borderline disrespectful, they also lack business ethics.

I??ve been in and out of Jims since it was a small pawn shop back in the 80??s. I??ve been to their store for both business and personal visits. I typically go there to look at guns and then go to two other stores to make my purchase. I??ve brought over 10 pistols and 10 rifles over the past twenty years. I have never, nor will I ever; purchase anything from this poorly ran, over priced and uneducated pawn shop! Typical shop that rips off the Soldier, marks up product, and has rude employees. This business would last nowhere else but Fayetteville!

This rating on weapons appraisals only. Recently took a Browning A5 shotgun to Jim's for an appraisal. Within the last 8 months I had spent $1200 to have it factory restored, $400 for a new barrel and $165 to have a choke system installed in the new barrel. Their first appraisal was $375, but raised that to $400. I took a look at their used guns and found 2 rusty A5's that looked like they had been stored outside and they were listed at almost $600. I sold the gun and extra barrels for $1100. Listed the gun and 2 of the extra barrels in the newspaper for $900 and had more than 10 buyers. Sold 2 other barrels for $100 each.

I have dealt with Jims Pawn Shop for 5 years now and have never had a problem with the people that work there. People now days think that they can get everything for nothing but want top dollar on the junk they have. Its a pawn shop they are there to give you quick cash when you need it.

Jims is absolutely the worst place in Fayetteville to purchase a firearm. The staff thinks that because they work in a firearm store, they are the subject matter experts. I buy guns all of the time, and the times that I have walked in, they completely ignore me not even offering help. I then listen to the BS some soldier about some firearm JUST to sell them a gun. If youre a soldier, DO NOT GO TO JIMs. Go to Shooters ore Guns Plus. If you pay more, you will at least be getting sound advice from men that have worked within spec ops.

Jim's is one of the worst places I have ever been in to try and purchase a gun. I will mention no names but the sales staff in the gun department was very rude. They hurry you along and pay absolutely no attention to what you want. They show you what THEY want to show you, not what you want to see. I would advise anyone wanting a gun to go someplace else and avoid Jim's at all cost. Only reason they get a 1 star rating is there is no 1/2 star.

I am a firearms instructor of over 15 years. I took my Fiancee to Jim's to look for a pistol for Her to use as a personal defence weapon. After shooting and narrowing down her best choice, we decided on a compact .40 cal XD. I asked the guy behind the counter to show my Fiancee a new pistol like the one we had been shooting. He stated in a very sarcastic tone" Your showing her the wrong guns buddy!" and proceeded to disreguard what we wanted , and show us a 750 dollar revolver that they were trying to push, This guy then said "let me show you something", and grabbed my Fiancees purse and then jammed the pistol into it, yanking it out a second later, breaking her earrings that were in the purse. Then a few days later, when her purchase permit was done, we went to Jims again to purchase the XD we wanted, only to have them say that they would not sell her a weapon because she is a German citizen (Permanant resident here) and it would take two hours of paperwork!!!!! Needless to say, we stomed out of there, went down the road to a competitor, and went home with the Pistol we wanted with no problem or delay at all! I will advise everyone I know to never go to Jims again!!!! Be aware the anonymous reviews and some others are likley plants! If this was not a military town, Jim's would most likley not be in bisiness.

Well, I've been to both the stores in Fayetteville and Southern Pines.. There used to be a girl named DJ that worked at the SP store that knew her crap and my hubby and I bought thousands of dollars of guns, pistol and rifles, shotguns.. jewelry , etc.. from there..and she was great , smart and new her biz but whoever is running that store now must be incompetent.. because that store is a mess now..between the ditzy brunette who acts strung out, and whom I saw being busted at the Dollar General for shop lifting and when I asked if DJ was there I was told she no longer works here.. And then I asked for Rich and he wasn't there.. but was told Don is the manager now.. but he isn't here right now.. the only one they have left worth a crap is Dave..That store is really in the crapper.. Don't think I'll be doing much more shopping there..anymore..

Like many I have to say Jim's has a huge assortment of top quality and medium quality hand guns, decent supply of rifles and shotguns also. Hand gun prices are fair, but shop around...combat style rifles appeared to be pretty expensive. Don't go there on a pay day weekend, standing room only! You'll walk away upset over their service, they need more people on a military pay day weekend!!! With the amount of money this guy makes from soldiers he can afford more knowledgeable staff on pay day weekends! Price check between Phase V and Jim's before buying, do yourself a favor.

Their gun salesman have not idea whats going on or how to deal with someone who has questions. The only thing they can tell you is how much something cost and nothing more
and if you ask a lot of questions they start getting rude.

One bright thing the person who works the jewelery counter was friendly and would go
out of his way to give me a good explanation when asked and even went out of his way to
make me feel welcome and didnt get upset when I started to ask some hard questions
he had the answers and never mentioned price until I asked. And he had manners and seems to respect a customer when they want to know something more than how much something cost. When I am ready I would buy something from him , but I will buy my next pistol from somewhere else,.

Really enjoyed the store. Had a gun repaired there. No problems. Went into the shooting range was a little dated but hear they are going to update sometime soon. Best selection of guns in Fayetteville by far. Prices are pretty good. Really like the unusual guns on the wall ie knights mk11 mod 0, psg-1, and accuracy intls.

The sales associates have really no idea what they are talking about. They will try to push their preference on you, and become very rude if you disagree. Anyone that gives these establishment 5 stars is a plant from the store; there is no way that anyone would think this is a great place. If you plan on buying a firearm in the Fayetteville area, there are a few steps you might want to follow.

1. Go to Jim's to look around (they do have a great selection, don't ask them questions about any of the guns though)
2. Go to Guns Plus to ask some questions (they are knowledgeable, but have their prejudices about different firearms)
3. Go to Shooter's Pawn on Bragg Blvd. to order want you want (best prices around, and very knowledgeable, you can skip Guns Plus and go strait here if you want)

Do not buy things from Jim's. You may find a great deal there on a handgun occasionally, but never on a rifle. By buying items from Jim's you perpetuate the cycle of overpriced products, horrible customer service, idiot sales reps, and sub-par service. Every time someone buys something from Jim's, it makes the business think they can continue to get away with this crap.

Lacking customer service. Never trust when they say they have what you are looking for on the phone.Drove 25 miles one way & they said "We haven't had that in a LONG time he must've been talking about this (showing me a revolver instead of a SA). I was SPECIFIC. I gave model number and brand exactly. I think they say that just to get you to come in. Bad business practice I think.

I have NEVER been impressed with Jim's customer service as a whole...that's not saying that there are no great people there, there are a few, but a couple need to go..I will not mention names...but I think they forget that they are a customer service based business....they make you feel hurried, unwelcome, and that you are wasting their time...I have bought 2 firearms from them but will no longer...They do have impressive selection of firearms and accessories...but at pretty high price's...shop around..... I am looking for a better shop and just saw and add for phase 5 on TV will try that next...I'd rather give my money to someone that appreciates my business

This establishment ,like most other gun stores around military posts, displayed a level of customer service that would never have passed if it were not near a base. I had asked to look at two separate handguns one of which was a higher priced H&K. After looking at the first gun (less expensive Glock) I asked to see the USP. The seller actually had the audacity to walk away and not even acknowledge my presence. I tell all my friends and co-workers that are new to bragg. Dont go to Guns Plus because they take advantage of soldiers(like a more elitist overpriced version of Jims) and dont go to Jim's because they are completely unprofessional, not to mention questionable in the legitimacy of their business (look and see how many of their guns end up in crimes compared to the rest of NC stores, also some of their "new" guns have a tremendous amount of carbon and wear lines in them). Either drive a ways out or at least stop by Phase V supply. Hes a retired SF association disabled vet. AND HIS EMPLOYEES ARE NICE AND RESPECTFUL... mostly (mean old guy with a mustache) but its the best around. Also for these other reviews, the CCW class is from a guy who comes to Jim's but hes not fully employed there, and he has no part in sales. Also the indoor range is good but its just about the only one thats decently close and also has nothing to do with their sales. The only people talking good about Jims sales are anonymous.... seems fishy. If its so good why wont they put their names on it like the people giving honest reviews. Unless they work for Jims and just want to get the stars up and get some good reviews in.

My wife and I took the concealed carry class before I deployed to Iraq, the class was excellent. The instructor was the best instructor I have ever had in any class on any subject. He teaches to standard not time, and his standard is high. The class lasted a few hours longer than scheduled but it was never boring and never felt like a lecture. The customer service is excelent at Jim's, they are often very busy but still try to get to everybody and they have a knowledgeable staff all experts in their own field. The prices are about the best in town and they will tell you the true condition of the product you intend to buy, they are not shady like other dealers in the area. Because Fayetteville is an Army town you need to go before five in the afternoon to talk to a service rep. quickly. I refer all of my friends to Jim's in the Fayetteville area.

I was stationed at ft. Bragg for four years, and have had very few good experiences at jim's. I have seen reluctant customer service at best. when I turned 21 I bought my first pistol there. the experience was good. about a year and a half later. I went back, after returning from a deployment to Iraq. I told the salesman that I was looking for an AR, and I wonted to look at Wilson Combat AR's. He promptly showed me a display case of 1911's. what was he thinking? I then asked to look at a FAL that was on display, about a $2000 at the time. The salesman literally started yelling at me! He didn't want to show me the gun unless I was going to by it. I couldn't believe it. I had been back from Iraq for about a week, and I literally had the money in my pocket. I went to Guns Plus, and never steeped foot in Jim's again.

I have been a life-long customer of Jims Pawn Shop and I would and do refer my friends and family to them for their firearms and hunting needs. The prices are good, but the customer service is absolutely first class. They will work with you to determine your needs and then fill that need with world class products at good prices.

A friend of mine that went there to buy a gun as a gift for someone first introduced me to Jims Pawn Shop. I was impressed with the selection of items they have there besides the guns. Jim's Pawn Shop is like a couple of businesses under one roof. On one side of it, you have the gun shop and firing range area. On the other side of the store, they have the pawn shop area. The next time you are looking for things from guns to jewelry Jims should be on the top of your to check out list.

Jim's has a wide of assortment of collectibles from guns to porcelain. There is a firing range there that you can practice shooting at. The store is clean and they are open late in the evening.

Jim's is one of the only places in Fayetteville that offers an indoor range. The range is very nice and large enough for this busy store. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. They are very cautious and take every preventative measure possible to ensure safety. They have a huge assortment of handguns and rifles. The other half of the store is a pawn shop with a large variety of items. The only downfall of this business is their prices. The prices are a little high on many items. It is worth the extra money, however if you want excellent quality guns.

Be careful when buying used weapons such as police trade in pistols. They will take whatever accessories that came with them and sell them separately. I purchased a Sig P6 from them and when I asked if they had extra mags the sales clerk said no.
I found out later from another employee the pistols came with 2 magazines and a holster but Jims removed the extras.
Their used weapons are very over priced. For example; I sold them a 30-06 rifle with scope and sling. I was happy with what they gave me but was amazed a few days later when I was back in there to use the range the rifle I sold was on the shelf minus the scope and sling and priced at double what they gave me for everything.
If you want to look at a lot of different weapons it is a good place to go. Just do some price research before you buy anything.

These guys talk crap to Military because most young soldiers act respectful instead of telling them to shove it.

They have very good general knowledge about guns...... go in and ask them any reasonably difficult question about firearms and they will revert to some type of excuse. They do not have formal firearms training. One guy acts like he knows what he's talking about and then they all repeat it like they though of it themselves. Pathetic.

They seem really upset at you if you even ask to have them order anything that they don't have. Customer service is full of arrogant don't know it alls.

They get one star because there are no half-stars. I called them today to ask about some specialty ammo and the guy says it might be in the back; to call back in a few days. If it might be in the back, why not walk back there and check? Why not look it up in the system? Why not take my number and check and then call me?

I went into Jim's to buy a gun several years ago and they were just as bad then; so back I walked out without buying. I called today thinking that certainly things had changed in 8 years. I guess not. Avoid this place and go to one of the other gun shops in Fayetteville!

These reviews on this website are pulled from the very few good ratings of other sites. Most of which are anonymous, about the range or CCW not sales, and are very vague in their "praise". I signed up to this site for the sole purpose of warning potential customers. The attitude of the sales persons is horrid, bordering on disrespectful. Their prices are not what they should be and their merchandise is questionable (lots of carbon and wear on their "new" guns beyond test firing). Read all the reviews from other sites!!! please!! These guys, like other Ft.Bragg gun shops, are right out mean to soldiers because they know most soldiers are respectful to civies
