When I travel to NC to visit my extended family I refuse to go home until I have had at least one meal at the Village Diner. The fried chicken is perfect; really crispy outside, moist and full of flavor inside. The barbecue is to die for

If you are looking for some southern cooking the Village Diner is the place to go. Their waitresses are super friendly and their food is good. The diner itself is kind of old and rundown but that doesn't keep the locals away. Their yams are a must have!!

A staff member at the visitor's center recommended a couple places to us and we decided to go with this one. The food was excellent, some of the best fried chicken I have eaten. The hushpuppies were good and the banana pudding was superb. This is where the locals seem to go, which is usually the best place in town, both for food and price. It is a seat yourself kind of place, with a buffet or order off the menu. If you don't usually pick the buffet, you should make an exception for this place!
