      Don't go here. Staff is rude and incompetent. Took them six hours to fix whatever was wrong, my check engine light had come on. They said there was only 2 cars in front of me. Tell me why I saw about 30 cars go in from of me and many people leave before me that came in after me. Also, my check engine light came back on a day later. So I went back to get it fixed...again. The lady told me it would cost me $50 just to do a test...even though I was there a day before and I even showed her my receipt.

      I cannot stress how horrible this place is.

      OMG! There was a time when the service was pretty good but I don??t know what happened. I was told by customer service to make an appointment in the morning- which I did. It took them 8 hours to change one tire and they didn??t even call me when it was done. However that??s not the worst thing that happened...wait for it...the idiots placed my bad tire back on my truck! I didn??t realize it until the next day because I so pissed off from the poor service. I had to go back down to that place to get the tire that I paid for on my truck. Unbelievable!

I was told they were backed up therefore it would take a few hours, I thought it was understandable so I had someone pick me up.       They didn't call me after it was finished, then said they had and left a message. Hours later I get my vehicle back. The service guy was defensive when I asked him simple questions. I payed to have the battery service and it wasn't. Additionally, I had a misfire that three other mechanics say was because of too rich of mixture due to a coolant temp sensor being out. They disagree with three other unrelated mechanics and say that it had nothing to do with it. So after over 500 dollars worth of services to fix the problem, they couldn't fix it. They say it was unrelated. They said they had the best diagnosis Pep Boys guy in the country working on it, but I am not sure he could diagnose a cracked windshield.

      Had struts replaced on my car, and while replacing the struts, they dented the front fender of my car and insisted I get 3 estimates, to be submitted for approval from corporate HQ, which would take several weeks. Meanwhile I payed over $600 for the work to be done to my car, now I have to wait for Corp HQ to decide if they wanna pay for the dents to be fixed and how much they are willing to pay if at all. This place sucks, keep them away from your car if you value it.

      I used to go to pep boys all the time and the service was great. I don't know what has happened but it's not good! I spent over $800 for some maintanence, 4tires, tune-up, oil change, rear brakes and drums. They were not able to get everything done in one day which was a little upseting but I knew that I was having a lot done so I was ok with this. I was upset however because I got a call from pep boys in the middle of the afternoon and as soon as I answered the phone the person hung up. When I called back I was told they thought they didn't have the tires I wanted when I was there that day at 9am but they did have them after all. I was a litttle confused by this. They also told me they were just getting ready to start my van, this was around 2:30pm and I dropped it off at 9am!
      I never did get a call from them stating my van was done and I did tell them that if they were not able to get everything done that was ok I would come back for the other services another time. Well around 5:30 there was still no call so I had to call them. They ended up having to redo the previous front brake and rotor job they did less than a year prior under warranty. The back brakes still needed to be done along with the drums. I still do not understand why everytime I get my brakes done I have to get either the rotars or the drums changed as well. I do maintain my van and I do not let an issue go without getting it repaired.
      Anyways I set an appointment to have the rear brakes completed the following week and paid for all services needed to be completed done at that time. I drove my van home and I could smell burning oil and rubber. When I pulled into my driveway, I live about 5 miles from the shop, my van was smoking and I was angry! My fiance had to drain about 1/2 quart of oil because the mechanic who worked on it overfilled it!
      I took my van back to them the next day and explained. Another mechanic checked the oil level and said, "your oil level is perfect." Obviously he didn't hear me say prior that my fiance emptied so much oil from the van. Over the next few days I didn't notice any issues with smells or smoke but it could have caused a head gasket to blow. I did however begin to notice a squealing sound which at times turned into a grinding sound. No one there offered any sort of discount or even a free inspection of any of the systems in my van. I followed through with the back brake appt because I had already paid for the service. I informed the mechanic that through out the past week there has been some squealing and grinding and it seemed like it was coming from the front brakes. She informed me that she would make sure that they would take care of it. They did not! In fact this is now week #3 that my van is there.
      Today they tried to tell me that there is nothing wrong with the van and that there is no sound. They offered to go on a test drive with me present so I said of course. Within less than 1 mile the mechanic noticed both issues with the brakes. He also forgot to switch from neutral back to drive in the middle of an intersection and almost wrecked my van!
      Its now past nine and when I called around 8pm to find out what was going on they told me they just started looking at it. Today my van was dropped off around 1pm. When I finished the test drive with the mechanic I told him I needed my van and he assured me that it would be completed at the end of the day. They are now closed and I do not have my van!
      Oh, and the first day I was there I was told that my drain plug was damaged and there would not be any charge to me and low and behold there it was on my reciept. It was only 10.00 but I think that if a company says they are going to do something they need to follow through!

      My truck was towed by roadside assistance to Pep Boys in Fayetteville. When I called to check on it I spoke to Roger, he was wonderful and when I went to pick my truck up and tow it home I was helped by everyone there..They went out of their way to help me even though I was not having work done there! I have never been treated better anywhere! Thanks Guys!!

      Just wanted to note the professional care I got at pep boys. Usually wherever I go, my dog is traveling along with me. He is a therapy animal and in general, the calmest, quietest, most well behaved and friendly to everyone. We had to make a stop for an oil change and pep boys caring staff welcomed me and my dog (most car places do) but they were quick and efficient, even on a busy day. We waited in the waiting room and one woman was very bothered that there was a dog in her presence and was sure to let me know she didnt like dogs. I knew my dog liked her (he likes everyone) and did not mind how she felt about him and he just laid down and slept in the waiting room. He got lots of love from the staff and other customers. Overall it was just a very friendly place and they took care of our car without overcharging or adding stuff on.

      We bought a 4-wheeler for our son for Christmas from Pep Boys. When went back just before Christmas to buy a helmet, the problems started. The only small helmet that they had did not have a box. We asked the cashier for the box and she stated that if there wasn't one on the shelf then there isn't one, then walked away. We stopped her and asked if we could still buy the helmet and she stated that we could if we wanted to and that it was our choice. We looked at each other wondering why the extra words and what she was implying. We asked about complications with returning it if it didn't fit since there was no box and all we got was more attitude. She complained and rolled her eyes, snatched things the whole time. There were other customers in line behind us. We were flabbergasted and wondered amongst ourselves what the problem was. We realized that it could have been because it was Christmas Eve or that we were black. We ruled out Christmas Eve when she was nice to other customers who stopped her to ask questions. As my husband was paying for the helmet, I told him that this wasn't the only place that we could get a helmet from and that we don't have to take this; he told her that we didn't want the helmet. She yelled the manager's name; he came up and seemed to have his own problems with her as they snapped at each other. He saw the way she behaved as she explained the need to refund the money and spoke to us so he told her to close out her register right away and go to the back. She slammed her register and began to stomp to the back as her yelled to her to close her register out first. The manager apologized. We still didn't buy the helmet and have never been back to Pep Boys.

      Pep Boys is conveniently located near Kmart on Skibo Road. This is a great auto parts store with alot of products. My husband will not go to any other auto parts store. Why should he when everything you could possibly need is located under one roof and the prices can't be beat! They also offer an automobile service department as well. I haven't been disappointed with any of the service I have received from Pep Boys. I highly recommend them.

Why should he when everything you could possibly need is located under one roof and the prices can't be beat! They also offer an automobile service department as well. I haven't been disappointed with any of the service I have received from Pep Boys. I highly recommend them.
