I love this restaurant! I have never had bad service and the food has always been top notch. I recommend Firebirds Chicken Pasta. I always have enough left over for another meal! The green beans are amazing, too. If you sign up for

Firebirds had extremely bad customer service... I would not recommend anyone to Firebirds. The customer service started and ended with the sub-standard hostess on Sat night, November 23rd. I was looking forward to a nice birthday dinner

This place is perfect for Southerners who have never traveled out their comfort zone to try delicious food. If the place is overpriced then it must be good, right?

I had a Desert Peach Martini (EXcellent) the Pork Tenderloin and the Pecan green beans. The pork had super flavor! It was smoked then cooked to a dot of pink & the green beans were crisp and very slightly sweet. But.

I arrived with 3 friends at 6/Weds and the music. was. too. loud. Now, I'm no damned granny, I'm 45 and a dancer. At arrival we couldn't hear each other speak seated at a booth halfway between the bar and kitchen. Guess what it was like at 7:30? Managers, when you create an atmostphere with noise, that established noise forces everyone to speak louder to be heard above the din! Personally, I'm pretty certain you're trying to cover up the kitchen noise. Anyway, we politely told Jodie we were nearly yelling at 7:30 (she was super too) and this was not due to any particular party nearby. She understood but intimated that this was normal rush hour noise.

Idiotic. With each entree costing $19 - $26., why am I also obstructed from doing what I CAME THERE TO DO? Eat and TALK. I loved the food and I would come back; your'e right aroud the corner from me... but I will not scream, dammit so wake up.

Every food item I've ordered there, I've enjoyed- onion rings, buffalo meatloaf, everything. It's very busy so either get there early or be prepared to wait. Unfortunately, they have a problem with their draft beers (at least Miller Lite, Blue Moon & Sam Adams and Coors Light before they dropped it) - there's some kind of bad taste in each one. Bottled beer is fine. Just don't get the draft beer and you'll enjoy it!

In my opinion, Firebirds has the best burger in Charlotte. Maybe anywhere. But the key phrase is "in my opinion". It also makes a difference whether cost is an issue or not. I've read reviews that claim Hardees or Backyard Burgers is the best. Well, for the price, yes they beat something like Wendys or McDonalds, but that's a whole different category. (In which case Five Guys takes that prize!). But without considering cost, I have to say that the cheeseburgers I've had at Firebirds are second to none. I can't make one as good on MY OWN grill. For a start, because they grind their own beef, they don't have to conform to those stupid NC regulations that prohibit you having your burger cooked medium rare. But for whatever reason, the end result is superb, and worth the $8.95 . One negative though...their fries, in my opinion are perhaps the WORST I've had...they're those horrible clunky steak-fries. (I almost feel like going in with my own bag of fries from Five Guys!! ) But anyway, considering the ambience, AND the fact that you can enjoy a beer with your burger, Firebird is definitely the King of burgers in the Queen City.

I have recently moved here from Kansas City and a friend recommended Firebirds to me and my husband. Love the food and the portions were a perfect size. The atmosphere was very relaxing. How ever the welcoming by the hostess was a little cold and unfriendly. I would recommend Firebirds to my friends and family.

Every time I go I end up filling up on several of their appetizers. The wait to be sat is a little long. I usually go there during the week to avoid the crowds. Food is good and the atmosphere is fine to bring the kids. Located in the Stonecrest shopping area next to Cantinna 311. Pros: Food and atmosphere. Cons: Too busy during the weekends and little expensive.

By far the best steak in town! The food is always great and received promptly. The staff are very attentive and helpful at offering suggestions if you can't decide what to order. Spinach artichoke dip is great!
Very busy on Friday & Saturday nights so reservations are advised.

I have been to this restaurant a few times this last year. While you may have to wait for a table, it is totally worth your time. Once seated, service is great and the food is wonderful and the steak is better than Ruth Chris (I heard, I have no urge to travel farther to Uptown since finding this place). The atmosphere is relaxing and the cocktails are terrific.

While dining here on a business trip recently I was very impressed. The decor is very nice; it looks like a ski lodge of sorts with the large wood beams and rustic decor. It didn't take long to be seated and although I didn't try the wine, the fillet was wonderful. It was cooked and seasoned to perfection, leaving me wondering if I've had a better steak anywhere else. In fact, my first experience was so good I decided to return a few nights later before leaving town. The second time, I had the surf and turf. Not only was the steak as good as the first time, the lobster tail was mouth watering as well. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys a good steak. Perfect for a nice date or for business.

I went to FIrebirds at North Lake for the first time last week. I am moving to Charlotte in a few months and I will definately be coming back. The steak was delicous and the side dishes were great. The taste of the food was complimented by friendly, accurate service.

On a recent Saturday evening, I had planned to have dinner at Firebird's in Stonecrest.
When I called ahead for reservations at 5:30pm, I was informed that reservations are not taken.
The individual taking the call indicated, however. that call ahead seating was available.

I inquired as to the first available call ahead opening, and was given a slot at 8pm. When I arrived at 7:55 pm and went to the front hostess station, a group of three early 20-something dimwits informed me that there would be a 1 to 1-1/2 hour wait, even though I had called ahead 2-1/2 hours earlier for 8pm seating.

What is call ahead seating if it doesn't guarantee seating at the designated time slot?

This was my third bad experience at the Charlotte/Stonecrest location involving a long wait for a table. This time, I thought I had solved the problem with the so-called "Call-Ahead Seating".

After being informed that my 8pm call-ahead seating would take place at 9-9:30 pm, I left for another restaurant and was seated in 14 minutes.

Firebird's should change the designation of this system to "Call-Ahead Waiting".

Cons: No resrvation system, "Call-Ahead Seating" puts you on a 1-1/2 hour waiting list. Your kids will drive you nuts waiting on a table.

Stopped-in at the new location at the Northlake Mall for lunch. My wife tried Firebirds Chardonnay and the Chicken Penne; I tried the Red and the French Dip. My wife enjoyed the White although the Red was a little too peppery for my taste but there was a sizeable winelist to choose from. Lunch portions were large with enough of the Penne to bring home for the both of us later (plenty of chicken in the dish), the sauce had a subtle spicey bite to it which was good. The French Dip was enough that I had to pass on the dessert (although I really wanted to try the Creme Brule). The waiters were knowledgeable about the dishes and the chef recommended the proper way to reheat the Penne when we asked. Kids welcomed but probably not the place if they like to run around or be restless.

If your going for a good steak and don't mind the noise this is one of the best. But if you are a chicken lover stay away. I ordered the chicken casadillas and if there was chicken in them it was microscopic and the cheese they use was like cheese whiz. So I couldn't eat them and asked the waiter if the spicy chiken soup was good and he said yes so I tried it. Again where was the chicken? It tasted just like they scraped the stuff out of the casadillas and put it in a bowl. I was very disapointed I would have to bet the appitizers are baught frozen and heated up.

Firebirds Rocky Mountain Grill is a disappointment. The kitchen is extra loud with the chef's calling orders. The service is slow, especially when it comes to the food be prepared and brought to the table. But once the check comes the waitress is ready to move you on for the next customer. My family and I were disappointed in the restaurant and what you get for your money.

Firebird's is my favorite restaurant in town. My favorites are the lobster spinach queso appetiver, the chili rubbed delmonico, or the southwest chicken pasta. great bread also.
We have never been disappointed every time wev'e eaten here. Get here early on the weekend or be prepared to wait. The food is worth the wait.
