1 Stars: Sapporo is less than satisfactory (by Rebecca L.)

I've yet to have a good experience at Sapporo (yet I keep returning when I have a coupon...in an attempt to find the good that others see in the restaurant). I've dined at Sapporo probably 10-12 times in the past few years. I've never left the restaurant happy. Something has always gone wrong with the meal, either the service was poor, the restaurant was dirty, the staff was rude, or the food wasn't cooked properly. The portions are incredibly small compared to other Japanese restaurants in Greensboro. I always feel rushed when I eat there - it just feels like there is no time to enjoy the meal, like the servers are trained to turn over tables to make more money instead of allowing the customers to eat comfortably without rushing. This is the absolute last Japanese restaurant I choose when given options.

5 Stars: Sapporo Rocks (by L O.)

This is my favorite Japanese restaurant of all time. They have great service and GREAT food. They always accommodate to the best of their ability to make your experience there as good as possible. I wont go anywhere else. They are also the best deal for your money. I don't know of anywhere that you can go get enough food for at least 2 meals for under 10 dollars that taste as good. Love the food! In fact... lunch there today!

4 Stars: I Love Sapporos (by MrsJD J.)

The hospitality is Japanese, their blunt, quick and to the point. I would go to Sapporo's any day over the other Japanese restaurants. For the money it is worth going. The amount of food and the quality of the food is unbelievable. I love being able to go and not have to wait forever to get a bite to eat or to be seated. Like others that are well known in the GSO area Sapporo's is the only Japanese that I will go to. It takes about 20 minutes to get there. To my family and I it is worth the trip. We live near a few, I will drive by the others just to get to Battleground for Sapporo's.

4 Stars: Best Japanese Food Around! (by Pat P.)

This is our favorite Japanese restaurant. Every once in a while you get a cook that is sorta shy which does not make it as much fun but we have had very good luck. The food is delicious. We have never gotten something that we did not like. One time we did get rice that had not been fully cooked but that has not happened since. I love the pineapple dessert and the onion volcano that they have recently added. The steak and shrimp and chicken is always cooked to perfection. You can make reservations and almost always get the time that you want. We like to go with a group but have gone with as little as two people and had a wonderful time. The parking lot is shared with other businesses and can be sorta crowded but has easy access back to Battleground Avenue.

2 Stars: Good food, horrible customer treatment (by b f.)

Beware people, the treatment here may leave you infuriated. We arrived to a not too busy restaurant and were told the wait was 30 minutes. Sounded fine until well after an hour and 15-20 mins later. Finally our party of 6 was brought to a table that seated 11 with another party of 6. When the obvious seating issue became apparent, one of the members of the other party immediately started protesting that sure they mentioned that one of their party was a baby and needed a 6th chair while the older lady in the group also started whining that they made reservations and the "other" group needed to be seated elsewhere! The "manager" proceed to tell me they had to honor their reserved seating first. During the course of the ongoing discussion I had with the "manager" it became clear that she had no clue that these people had even made a reservation and even if they did, couldn't tell me when it was placed and for what time which would clearly have made a big difference in how anyone would have handled the situation. (Based on comments made by the other party, they should not have been seated before us and clearly planed on the infant sitting on the mothers lap...they clearly made a mistake) After repeated attempts to get the "manager" to discuss the situation, she would not listen and just continued to repeat that there's no problem and we'll seat you right away and don't worry we can adjust your bill. Another 10-15 minutes later after being unceremoniously yanked from our first table and sent back to stand with the waiting, we were finally seated. The Chief did a fine job serving/preparing the good food. However, good food is only part of the dining experience. The bill was not adjusted and we never saw or heard from the "manager" again. The adjusted bill was not the issue, I wasn't even paying for it. The issue is you don't mistreat customers and then not even acknowledge it. That leaves a bad taste in any ones mouth.

4 Stars: great night out (by Angela G.)

This restaurant is a lot of fun. You sit at a table that seats 8 people choose your dinner and then they come and cook it at the table. They cooks are always a lot of fun and know how to entertain while you eat. They serve everything in courses Soup, Salad, a couple shrimp, onions and zucchini, rice and then your meat (steak, shrimp, chicken etc). The food is great and you will not leave hungry. I always take enough leftovers home for a second meal. If your taking children with you they will have as much fun as the adults.
