Wow I've gone there for yrs never a problem they were courteous helped get Tv out car and back in car ! What's crazy is they have fixed my husbands Onkyo stereo b4 with no issues ,Go figure ! Sorry bout ya bad experience .

I am a graduate of Allegeheny Technical Institute in PA. I worked as a TV / electronics technician for the first six years of my career.

Last week I purchased a $195 part for my TV from this business, which I chose because of an internet search for an authorized Hitachi Home Electronics Service Center. Upon installing the part, the TV picture became non existant. I replaced the (supposed new part) with the original part and, although the TV still had problems, the original problem returned. The part purchased at Carphonics was in the TV less than two hours.

I returned the part to the store, but the owner/manager immediately said that he did not want to hear anything from me, and that I was stuck with the defective part. He said that unless his technician serviced the TV (at a price) there was nothing he would do.

The box containing the part was open when I arrived to pick it up, and I have no idea if the fellow knew, in advance, that it was defective or not.

However, he was extremely abrupt and rude with me, and didn't want to take time to listen to the facts related to my previous experience as a TV technician of the additional information, that I was getting advice from a current TV technician (25 years experience) who has been guiding my attempt to resolve the problem for the past two weeks. (I never made a move without his approval)

Additionally, I didn't even want a refund. I went to the store to ask for a replacement part. If you have the ability to "walk and chew gum at the same time" avoid this business as if your life depended upon it. This business, obviously, depends upon ONE TIME sales, because anyone in their righr mind would never go back for seconds.

I had a surround sound speaker that I needed to get repaired and Sony pointed me to this repair shop. It looks sketchy on the outside because it's in an old stripmall, but my experience was really good there. The guy I spoke to was very friendly and went out of his way to help me. They took care of it immediately and got me a new speaker in less than a week. Overall, my experience was a plesant one.

My husband and I purchased 2 TVs (42 inch flat screen Maganox) from Home Depot with an extended warranty. The TVs are now in need of service. The warranty program led us to carphonics for repair. First you have to jump thru hoops to get them to come to your home and pick up your television for repair. Secondly the lazy technicans had the TV for over a week and didnt (or couldnt) fix anything at all. A quick 10 min search on my part of the internet uncovered several people having the same problem with their TVs as I have been having with mine. Our tv was returned two weeks later and exactly nothing had been done to it. They claim they could find nothing, so delivered it back (and charged the company for labor they had not performed) with the same issues non resolved. After jumping thru more hoops , they came back to pick up the TV to try it again. This time I armed the technicans with several internet print outs describing the same problem we were having and what others did to resolve the problem.

Today (5/2) I called back to ask them the status of the TV and was informed that (a week after they have had it in their shop) no work has been done because we had not paid the 50 dollars to come back out and pick up the TV. Now common sense would tell you that had you not fixed the TV the first time because of your lack of knowledge, common sense, or the rest, it is not my responsibility to pay for a second try.

All in all folks, I would refraim from using this company at all cost. The customer service is horrible. I was yelled at, cut off, and hung up on several times. Even if this is the company that your autorized warranty center, try to find another one.
