Food Lion

A pretty standard grocery store. It has the basics but nothing extra fancy or gourmet. Stock seems to be low often and the selection is not large but the basics are available at competitive prices.

For your basic needs during a week at the beach, this store has everything. However, if you're looking for more unusual items or a large selection of anything, you might be dissappointed. Also, during the regular beach season, it is staffed almost exclusively by foreign exchange students, which can make communication a bit tough.

For the past 10 years that we've been to the OBX, we've shopped here, and we' ve learned to go early on Saturday evening to avoid the crowds. However, during our most recent visit, the shelves were bare and the selection was horrible, even very early on!

To make matters worse, there were many boxes of items to go on the shelves take up most of the aisles!

The lines were long, and the cashiers were miserable!
