My family and I decided to check out this new museum that recently opened called Exploris. This is definetly one of the best museums I have been to. They have many interactive demos for kids and adults to enjoy. They explore many aspects of science and technology. Probably the best part of this museum is their IMAX theator which is a unique 3-d movie experience where I actually felt like I was in the movie!

Going to the Exploris museum in downtown raleigh a couple years ago, it was pretty interesting, but it didn't extremely excite me. The exhibits and displays were handson and interactive, but some seemed as though directed to little kids. Being able to attend a movie in the IMAX theater was a great experience. The screen was so much bigger than a regular theater and the movie engulfed you with its picture and sound. There is also a little gift shop to buy souvenirs for those that visit the museum. Exploris is a great place for those little kids to have something educational to do, but the IMAX theater is great for everyone.

Exploris is a state-of-the-art museum located in downtown Raleigh, North Carolina. It has exhibits that deal with many aspects of life; science, anatomy, biology, and zoology. There are alot of hands on exhibits and non-hands on exhibits, but all are interesting and informing. One of the greatest aspects of Exploris is its IMAX theatre. Imax movies that deal with the rain forest and desert are commonly shown, but there are sometimes specials such as Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory and even Harry Potter. I liked the ease of navigating the Exploris museum. My favorite was the IMAX showing of Willy Wonka; especially the large wide aspect screen and the great sound quality.
PROS: Fun, Educational, and Imax Theatre

The IMAX experience is great and they play new releases here. The price of tickets is a little costly, but it is worth it with some of the movies. The museum is not everything I had expected it to be but it is a nice space and has okay exhibits. I would recommend getting the membership if you are planning on seeing a lot of movies as it gives you a great discount on tickets!!

The Exploris in downtown Raleigh is great! I came here one of my first trips down here before I moved here. I saw a show at the Imax theater and loved it! I saw more of an educational film, however they now show Feature films which is great! The price is higher than a regular movie theater however it is worth it. The screen is huge and you feel much more part of the actual movie.

I have only been here once, when I was in high school, and I thought that it was a great place for anyone under 8 years old, but for anyone older it's kind of dull. there are some neat things like the berlin wall section and teh marble wall, but most of the displays and activities are targeted only a children with no adult level alternative.
